Secondary market prices are very reasonable for the majority of Unicron Trilogy toys. It's only the classics line that can get expensive, the rest is not bad at all and can cost the same or less than retail when purchased loose. What I meant to say is you can still get all those weighty toys now for a similar price you would have paid then (considering inflation).

Yeah I might work once in a while.
I want to get the Platinum Planet of Junk Clash set maybe eventually, but I'm having a hard time justifying the price. Hopefully I can get it for less. I also think it would be cool to get the Platinum G1 Insecticons partially to get the energon cubes for Hot Rod to offer to the Junkions.

I hear you, Target does these deals sometimes, like 20% off coupons when you spend over a certain amount. And thats how you could get this for cheaper. Thats what happened with the Blaster/Perceptor set last year. Also, keep a lookout on this listing: http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp ... d=80992896
Its in canada and if ever it's at a price you want, I can act as an intermidiary and ship it to you.

*sigh* I feel though that I can get a Masterpiece with that same amount of money or even less. I guess with a deal like that it wouldn't be too bad, but yeah. I guess it's just one of those "value is perceived in the eye of the beholder" things.

It's precisely that. For the same price, you can have these 3 deluxes or MP Hotrodimus shipped from HLJ http://hlj.com/product/TKT84468/Act
Between the two what gives you more bang for your buck? I dont know.
PS: The answer is MP Wheeljack

That's a really great idea Sill. You won't be sorry. Go for it!SillySpringer wrote:Hmm I am now highly wanting that Hasbro Platinum reissue of G1 Predaking. Amazon has him for about 90 USD as a Prime item. Hope I can get him soon enough. It'd be my first G1 reissue set.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Hopefully I can get it in time. Funds are a bit short right now though. Bills and such are just a lot.

If Amazon no longer has him, you can always get him at BBTS. And like Cobotron, I fully back this choice of yours. He is an awesome toy and a great toy to have from the G1 era. And he retains all the charm from that era along with its badassery.
SillySpringer wrote:Thanks bro! I have never tried BBTS yet, so that would be interesting.![]()
Sometimes, nostalgia outweighs updated design when it comes to Transformers. If I can only get one G1 set, I want Predaking. I love Divebomb. He just looks especially awesome for a g1 figure.

Smart man. ANd I can confirm that divebomb is awesome but the one who really impressed me was Rampage. He is a great looking bot. And its really cool that each one of those is a voyager class figure in size.
SillySpringer wrote:Also, these guys actually have awesome articulation for g1 figures. ESPECIALLY Divebomb and Rampage! Some of them even have knee joints! THIS seems to really be one of those G1 sets that completely disproves the statement that 1-step and 3-step changers are the new G1 figures. These Predacon guys are so awesome they even still have the diecast in them. He's just one of those rare g1 combiners that don't need an upgrade set to look awesome. I sometimes have seen pictures of this guy in the past as Predaking, and mistook him for a second as a 3rd party figure. He just looks that good.
-Kanrabat- wrote:From the look of it, that upgrade set for Predaking is garbage IMO. You already told about the stability issue (a VERY imortant point for a combiner) and that giant extra crotch piece just give him an elongated torso. This make the limbs look dispropotionately small. Without upgrades, G1 Predaking is pretty solid and look like a MASSIVE, intimidating MOFO that you wouldn't want to mess with.

I can entirely agree about how he looks. And, I really don't need an upgrade for such a nostalgic piece.
Also, you guys probably have already mentioned this before, but Predaking's hands look SUPER similar to the Combiner Wars standard hands.
