Mykltron wrote:Not cartoon accurate enough! Unless the two red cannon things clip together (no gap between them) on his back in robot mode...
Deathscythetransform wrote:not bad but why would they bother making this guy when they already did anice voyager class in the classics line?
Waspinator got to be show-accurate, and several others in the line are either game-accurate or comic-accurate. Being "Generations" doesn't really mean anything much anymore since the line keeps changing its rules and aesthetics.TimothyR wrote:you do understand that this is generations right?.. not G1 or masterpiece.. these are supposed to be updates of classic characters, not faithful G1 representations.

Wasn't that only the case in the Netherlands tho, where the name "Optimus Prime" wasn't available for our beloved leader?

I considered that, but lately TakaraTomy seems to be going more for toy-accurate decos instead of show-accurate.fenrir72 wrote:The Tomy version will most likely sport a more cartoon like deco. Remember the henkei version?
Simple. Classics and Universe were two separate toylines with different mindsets at each's time. For Powerglide, they wanted a more realistic size for the A-10 Thunderbolt, and simply weren't thinking about the Jetfire toy made two years earlier for another toyline.fenrir72 wrote:On the 2006 mold, awesome as it was, it still beggars the imagination why Skyfire got to be a Voyager size and Powerglide an Ultra![]()

Yeah, it's cuz they already made a Jetfire toy (even if it would be smaller than the toy they were gonna make next at the time), so they went with someone they hadn't made yet: Powerglide.fenrir72 wrote:And look how it turned up? I mean, if you want to sell a product, why risk a 2nd/3rd tier character when Jet/Skyfire, a more popular fig/character (I don't disparage the braggart that is Powerglide but between them, I choose the F14 over the A-10 Thunderbolt) would be an assured sale? Anyways, water under the bridge.
Believe me, I'm hoping Takara goes back to doing show-accurate decos, as they could really do such wonders with this mold in show colors.fenrir72 wrote:You have a point though, with the G1 toy motif but in Skyfire's case, they might go more via the henkei style of deco.

Didn't stop Henkei! Henkei! Skyfire and Dark Skyfire from happening.Emerje wrote:With that jet mode I'm wondering if this can even be released in Japan. It would be foolish if it couldn't be, but I suspect Bandai would take exception to that alt. It would be annoying if the Japanese version was not just repainted, but remolded, too.
