Why do I say this? Because we all know that they'll most likely go Autobot, which gives them a good handicap over everyone else. Also, it will probably turn out that the Predacons will lose out the most.
So, when people choose their faction, we need it so that there is a concrete argument for and against each faction, possibly trial sesions or something.
Anyone care to help comment on this?
In essence the idea is good.
However, it would make people choose with their head, instead of their heart, something they might regret later on.
There would be outside influences, like statistics, and other people's opinion clouding the view of what theyd really want.
Get what i mean?

That could be a weapon that fires backwards. If you would choose, you'd choose the faction with 10 players or that with 1000 players?

How about when a Boombox/Tapedeck transforms, it doesn't say it transforms into a "weapon". Why are they called weapons, anyway?

True, but it still seems incredibly awkward to see my Tapedeck dude transform into a "weapon".
Although I can't think of what noun to replace it with, so I guess there's no median.

new idea
Multi-Repair = Repairs multiple friendly targets at once
could Multi-Repair be divided like
Catch - Catch an avoiding target ,and
Dogfight - Hit other aircraft alts by fighting them in the sky. Hits multiple air alts
work on ground and air alts?
s could
Aerial Rescue Vehicle
Battle Station
Rescue Ship
Demolition Vehicle
Noble Sea Creature
Helpful Land Animal
Noble Land Animal
Noble Air Animal
Mischievous Land Animal
Mischievous Air Animal
be divided by class to repair alts of there basic class,
keeping repair as a all around fix anyone mode?
or some other way to divide them up,
all the other multi task modes are divided by 1or2 alt groups attack or what not.

I was wondering, after seeing the flamethrower, if we could have themed weaponry.
Allow me to reliterate, a flamethrower would be ok against a metal form (e.g. Autobot or Decepticon), but would turn a fleshie being (Maximal and Predacon) into a walking kebab.
So, what if we had weapons that are more or less effective against certain factions (a sonic gun would hurt Bots/Cons more than a Max/Pred for example)?
Any thoughts on this?

and why would a flame thrower hurt one side more than the other?
take tracks for example, he turns into a corvette stingray, now the sting ray is made of glassfibre, which burns rather well, and inside he's got plastic and leather and his wires and things have plastic/rubber insulators. basically cars, aren't flame proof.
but tracks is for the most part, becuase he's not a car, he's a walking robot built for combat disguised as a car, and thus we overlook the glaring fact that when you shoot him with a laser or missile he doesn't blow up. however when we apply the same logic to cheetor we forget that he's actually a armoured highly efficient combat robot disguised as a cheetah, but think he is actually a cheetor and thus succesptable to all the things cheetah, rather than combat robots, are.

How about choosing a special ability when you first create your character. Kind of like Trailbreaker's forcefield generation, Skywarp's teleportation or Hound's hologram generator. Of course, there could be more but these were the first ones that sprung to mind.
This is kind of how I envisage them working:
Forcefield - Character generates a forcefield over another character. Forcefield stays active until opponents manage to wear it out sufficiently.
Teleport - Allows character to avoid then attack from behind opponent
Hologram diversion - Character generates holographic diversion, confusing all opponents for at least one turn per character.
I have no idea about programming so don't know how difficult something like this would be to implement, but I think it would certainly make the missions a lot more interesting.

I think weapons having different effects on their targets is a great idea! Example:
A insect predacon or maximal gets rammed by a vehicle. The result could say " "XXX" was splattered in the attack!"
or "animal shape 'y' became roadkill"

After seeing the prize alts topic, I got a thinking (again).
Special alts are avaliable for winning competitions, but seeing as not all of us are brilliant at comps, why not have some alts avaliable for reaching certain levels, or even being allowed to buy some rare alts with energon.
Thoughts and critisisms please.

Somewhere after Triplechangers turned up first, i do recall having seen a suggestion to make them a special alt available to us for something special.
I do like the idea alot, and it would actually give a incentive to level faster instead of hanging around in one level for a bit longer.

minicons
i think each player should have a small extra storage space for won minicons,giving/or selling the excess to the faction chamber, with a CAP on how many can be bought/used from the faction chamber in a weeks time. this would promote minicon missions and make sure all players get a chance to use them no matter their game stile, with a minicon bonus for adding minicons to the faction chamber, for others to use.
also, could minicons get the option to be sold,or traded for a different minicon with another player or faction chamber?
don't know how many times i have wished that option.

XP isn't enough of a reason to go to the next level?
as to buying alts, i return to my point about how broken the economy is in this game.

i like this, i like this alot, however rathern than a buy back CAP, you could simply do a bit of price fixing, where the game adds a 10-20% on to the buy cost, so you could sell your minicon to the shop or a freinds for 1000energon, and but they would have to pay 1200 for it(1000 to you, 200, for shipping costs or something), and likewise if you buy it back

Wow there are a mess load of ideas here! Didn't even get to read them all, but! I like the dual weapons idea! I would like to see them set up as special weapons that basically strafe. You would use three sets of upgrades to equip these special weapons such as Speed, Firepower, and Skill for dual guns and replace Speed for Strength for dual melee weapons.

Finally hit 500!

Plenty of strategy from where I am.
Obviously not right now, I can see how it's boring now. All we do is wait until it comes back...

Re: got IDEAS for the GAME post here.
i miss the RDD/AWC tournies,
there was real strategy there, trying to keep everyone on the same game plan; do we lure enough AWC into a mission to make it count with an under leveled RDD grunt, and then Flood it with heavy hitters? do we avoid certain missions in an attempt to spread the AWC too thin to react? how the hell do we get all the RDD in one IM at the same time? and who's got what TFs available?
the 25 person IM during defection wars was manic!
