Now that's a subjective opinion.

And I don't think anyone else has ever mentioned (or even noticed) this, but the final fight in the city in The Avengers is very similar to the final fight in Dark of The Moon, if not an outright rip-off.

I think that this is more a thing for the thread in which the movie itself is discussed, not this one. I'm too lazy to post a link to the thread. But I'm guessing you're smart enough to find said thread yourself.

Okay, rant over.Evil_the_Nub wrote:No, it's completely subjective. Everything they criticize the Transformers movies for is something they overlook pretty much everywhere else. They bash it for the action, explosions, acting, and weak plot, but The Avengers is is just as guilty of all that and I've never heard a word against it. They complain that it's too long, but there are dozens of universally praised movies that are even longer. Those are valid reasons to dislike a movie, you can't argue against personal opinion. But in order to fairly label it bad it needs to be objectively flawed.

So you can't review a movie without simultaneously reviewing every single movie in existence?

Good point. We can blame the screenwriters, cinematographers, and editors, too...
Thanks for reminding me about the additionally awful layers that stacked up to make AoE a singularly awful, terrible, and atrocious piece of scrap.

“Visual effects in and by themselves are nothing unless they serve the story,” said Jeffrey A. Okun, VES Chair. “This year, more than ever, we are seeing amazing work that not only serves the story but tells the story in a manner never before seen. The VES Awards is proud that we are the only organization that showcases and honors these amazing artists in depth and across a wide range of fields. We are extremely proud of our nominees!”
