Agreed "fireblast" is realy just a slightly different way of saying "firepower". In fact I belive Hasbro has used it before on some of it's TF statcards.

Back when I thought Barricade was supposed to be a 2006-07 Dodge Charger interceptor, I asked Phasewing to create me one. He actually did create it, complete with red and blue lights. When we learned Barricade was a Saleen (not Ford?) Mustang, he took the lead and created a Mustang interceptor (which I think also has red and blue lights).
My team's alt modes:
General Autoban Lee = 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
Shotgun/Railspike = 500 Series Bullet Train
Pacific = 700 Series Bullet Train
Express = E4 Max Series Bullet Train*
Urbaneise = Lamborghini* or "Datsun" 280-ZX interceptor
Broadcast = boom box* (same model as Twincast with 4 speakers)
Cumulonimbus (a.k.a. Cumulus) = Spacefighter (of Shi'ar design; similar to G1 Cyclonus)
* mode is already present and being used.

It's true. First used in RiD, fireblast was Hasbro's 2000s way of not raising the ire of anti-gun parents who faint at the use of the word "firepower". In a fit of irony, The same RiD tech specs that first used "fireblast" used the Spanish (Potencia de Fuego) and French (Puissance de Feu) translations for "firepower".
Knowing French, I'm quite sure that "puissance" (power) does not equal "blast". Then again, "souffle de feu" looks silly.

Hyperblast, Hyperburst, Hypershot, Hypercannon, Charged Shot, Aimed Shot, MegaCannon, Critical Shot.
unless you actually need the "fire" in there, will it engulf them in flames? that would be cool, other elemental based stuff wold be too.

It's a version of Strafe that doesn't suggest "air support" or "ground suppression".

Barrage does sound about right since it's a full continuos broadside while a salvo is just a single firing of all the guns in a single arc

Granted, it sounds more like a G1 Dinobot or Dragon-type tactic, because I automatically think of flamethrowers when I hear the name.
What about the same tactic, different names for purely fluff purposes? Fireblast for the Dinobots / Dragons / Monsters, Shell for Tanks / Trucks / Battleships / Whatever else? More than likely not gonna happen because of the programming that would have to be added or tweaked, but it's just a thought...

isn't it also one of the most powerful attacks for fire pokemon?

i have no problems with that, just along as it isn't touted as a new tactic.

Well yeah, because different alt modes give you different tactics.
i see, but i ment it like is one stronger then the rest? or does like one give you armor and one gives you dmg, etc..

no, the only thing alt mode effects is what tactics you have available to you.

First off, I've decided not to delete the alts, except for that fugly truck. Instead I'll be replacing them with upgraded alts that hopefully fit the theme better. I've used the original images wherever I could find them
Now the real reason you guys are keeping up with this. The Maximal/Predacon altclasses. Of course these are still under development, so what you see may not be what you get.

Just seems a bit odd, given that Highbrow, Brainstorm, Apeface and Snapdragon were all Headmaster jets.

I made a mention of it in this post; the Targetmaster Jet has a Headmaster tactic, which I presumed to be a mistake either in the tactic name or the alt class name.
