Like the idea of these, but for both id suggest repair as the secondary tactic, as its the only thing most of the fembots/-cons ever did in G1.

I'll second the repairing FEM BOTs classes, but could we get repairing fem bots for the Maximals too? I am contemplating a move to that faction, or maybe the Bots if they have enough cool land vehicle alts.

I'm really not seeing the need to create a fembot class, you can easily take any alt and say that it transforms into a female

and its rather patronising to us girlies.

as i said to mkall in an IM the other night, i think the majority of Zoids should be in the bot/con faction than the furries faction, as the blatently are robotic in animal form, rather than organic, and absolutely frikking huge; no maximal ever had an airport on its back.


the ideally would be assighned the walker tank class, with a few in heavy/light assault vehicle classes, and maybe 1 0r 2 base classes(for ultrasaurus or mad thunder).

it would be nice if they where faction specific too, republic zoids for the bots, and imperial for the cons, like we have for the starwars alts now.

this is a picture of a typically sized zoid (though there is alot of variation) looking at the scale of the human gunner(the blue thing at the end of the tail) we can contrast that G1 optimus would be about the size of this things skull, an optimus primal would be about the size of its crew. not exactly a small energy efficient form

See, You've made a point of comparing Zoids to TFs, but these images will be zoids, they will instead be representing a transformer that transforms into something that looks like a zoid. As I've said to Glyph, Seibs and maybe OS a few times, just because the altmode looks like a Romulan Warbird does not mean that the TF has to transform into a 1,200 meter long spacecraft capable of carrying 1,500 humanoids.

It sounds as if you're having the same issue burn did about throwing out pre-concieved notions. Just because I took the image from a zoid doesn't mean I'm going to treat it like a zoid. This is HMW, let imaginations soar

And besides, if I took all of the animals with mounted guns away from the Maximals and Predacons, there'd be no alts for their version of Targetmasters

Just because a TF turns into a Zoid doesn't mean they're going to be in scale with normal Zoids. I mean, look at, say, Cybertron Leobreaker. He turns into a lion, but he sure ain't in scale with real lions... Heck, I could use all sorts of examples from Beast Wars to debunk the whole scale argument *cough*Inferno,Waspinator,Rattrap*cough*...

Seriously, since when has scale meant anything in the TF universe?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of an alt class that repairs but is not a rescue vehicle. Something with fireblast or strafe/anti-air as well as repair. As for the whole being fem. thing, I have no preconceptions about alt. modes there. Heck, my G1 Megatron and Galvatron cons are both fem.

just remeber that while your handing alts to one faction you are denying them to others

anyway you can give them any alt for their targetasters, just becuase G1 optimus prime is a truck, looks like a truck and is pretty the epitome of truckness, you can still say it's apredacon tragetmaster....

and by the looks of it only those people who are familiar with zoids are actually going to recognise them....Iron Kong could pretty pick up primal like he was the blonde heroine in a king kong film.

EDIT: and if just becuse something looks like something but doesn't necassairly have those characteristics WTF are we doing with the whole Air/land tactics malarky. it makes no sence.

Of course it isnt litrally what it looks like, it's a fricking robot in disguise! But the best form of disguise is one that imitates something perfectly. So if it looks like a romulan warbird, it should also be the size of one. Using cartoon's dodgey scales as an excuse is daft. Im not saying you cant have zoids in the preds and maximals (they could be transmetal alts for isntence) but I think you should asign tactics based on what it REALLY is based on, not on what you fancy at the time, and not on what will make it easyer on you to be.

Gargh! It's a Pred alt! You giving me serious thoughts about switching factions! Taking away all my good retired alt modes that I strove for years to keep when the set-ups sucked, then giving the only good one previewed so far, the one I lobbied for the cons to have, to the preds! I need another beer!

And I'm not actually that pissed off, cause I'm sure I can find 12 passable alts in the Con rotation, I just want to be able to have someone on my team have an alt to match their bio.

all the good alts should be on the preds anyway

perhaps a start would be to raid the Maximal/Predacon galleries, rather than nicking half ther alts from alternative franchises.

Do you remember Tomy kit build toys which looked like robotic animals (Dinosaurs only to start with then Gorillas and the like) with cockpits for little silver or gold little pilots? Them's were early Zoids. Wind-up motors or battey powered ones.

in reality therir small model kits that you build, all have some sort of motor(the smaller ones are wind up, the larger ones requiring 2 C cell batteries for the motor) and plod along when switched on

Sadly I can't remember what happened to my Hellrunner, my mini-zoidzilla or Iron Kong-type one but I'd say it's fair to asume they went about the same time as my TF's to fund my early experimients into alcohol & young women.
