You know this is one and the same toy just with different heads and ice parts for the blue guy and fire for the orange guy.
I actually like the robot modes, but the lack of hands really puts me of.
I hope these are misstransformed somehow.

I like the standard jet modes. I like the standard robot modes. I even like the combined robot mode (It could be taken as a loving parody of Energon line combiners). The combined jet mode however is sheer laziness. However, I'll pick these two up, out of interest. It's not very often you get a Beast Machines homage (Look at Jetstorm's helmet, it's similar in design to his namesakes.) and it's experiemental. We've had horizontal combniners, which work well. Let's try the vertical.

Yes they do and yes a lot of their employees frequent Seibertron.com.

Yeah, Hasbro should drastically reduced the number of these they planned on making and just sell them on their website as an Exclusive for those who like this set. I think they will lose alot of money if they mass produce these and send them out to all the stores. Probably be the biggest shelf-warmer of all time.
Just my Opinion

here that sound? it's the sound of hundreds of preorders being cancelled...
man what hunks of Junk.
there is no possible way I will buy this (and I have bought all the other TFA toys to date).
Whoever designed this attrocity needs a boot in the rear. This looks like something a child came up with when he had a couple of old toys laying around he wanted to mash together.
My nephew who is 8 has better looking lego creations...

Amongst all this hate, I must say I like the way they combine in robot mode. It's clever.
And I really like the Siamese twin slash Two Face concept for the combined bot. But it needs hands. I don't think that is too much to ask.

You do have a point-the split down the middle concept is very fresh and it will probably be handled in a pretty cool way on the show. Unfortunately, it just doesn't seem like it translated well in plastic. Guess the character designer should have thought of this more before they went off the deep end creatively with these guys.

Actually, the concept is quite old and from a different but related line: the Yuusha/Brave series, by Takara. See these for instance:
Ultra Raker from Yuusha Exkaiser (Brave Fighter Exkaiser, 1990)
Chouryujin and Gekiryujin from Yuusha-Oh GaoGaiGar (King of Braves GaoGaiGar, 1997).
It's dubbed "Symmetrical Docking" in GaoGaiGar.
That said, the designs are very underwhelming to say the least, especially the combined jet mode. But the homages are appreciated

Strange you should mention those - the first thing I thought of when I saw the combined robot mode was that it was a similar look to the combined form of Dr. Terror and Hacker in Centurions.
Not keen on this TF design, although I think the pictures are wrong - it looks like the feet might fold back in jet mode, and the leg-flames might slide / rotate out as wings.

I haven't bought many of the Animated series, but I had preordered this as soon as I heard about the description. After seeing the pictures...preorder cancelled. This has got to be one the worst TF toys this decade.

You know there will be a decepticon repaint of these figures at some point down the line. I guess this will teach the transformers fandom be carefully what you ask for you just might get it. Because I remember that alot of people asked it there was going to be a combiner in animated at last years botcon and well here he is in all craptacular glory.

I think there cool. they didn't have hands in g1 and we didn't complain. these were made for 5-12 year old kids, not 20-30 year old adults. And kids love this kind of stuff.

True enough, but that doesn't make Jetfire and Jetstorm any more visually appealing. They still look like gangly Power Rangers with severe birth defects.

True, but it's all in the way you look at them. compared to botcon toys these are compleete piles of sh*t. compared to the animated legends, thes are not half bad. still not as good as the other two packs. But as we all know, Hasbro often mistransforms their own toys.

Unless it's a severe mis-transformation I can't see there being a vast improvement.
What will make or break these two is their performance in the actual show. If they end up being super awesome characters the sales may see a significant boost.

Ok, well, really, the figures seem decent, but this mold does not deserve the Jetfire name. End of story.
