I've decided that I'm going to buy 2! I'm working on a Animated Soundblaster custom at the moment so when these guys come in I'll give them the treatment they deserve.

I'm thinking that I could give Jetfire a G1 inspired paint scheme and give Jetstorm a Beast Machines color scheme.

im not sure they would be that bothered they'd still be getting their money, this plan would only work if we threw the burning plastic on to their faces and then demanded a refund

I can't wait for people to start fighting over the inevitable Botcon repaints of these. I don't know why, but I get the feeling that we'll be seeing them in the next Botcon.

I can kinda see what they we're trying to pull off, but I think they were still a couple months away from actually finishing the design. The only issue I see is in the actual combination. I would just like some hands. Still the Hasbro designers still deserve a thanks for at least creating a combiner that fits in the Animated asthetic. I'm willing to bet these figures went through about 5 months of designing just to get this far.

I also suspect that the combined jet mode is for some kind of "flying tornado elemental attack" for the show.

Um... I'm pretty sure that that's the definition of a combiner, Chronic. They even combine into a bigger robot.

Whether or not they're a GOOD combiner is up for debate, but they are a combiner. Plain and simple.

If there's hands somewhere that someone's forgetting about, I'll probably be more forgiving. It's mainly just the fact that neither the arms just seem to... end on the individual robots, and the combined robot has feet instead of hands that makes me shake my head. The vehicle modes aren't great, but if they'd put a bit more into the robot modes I could forgive it. But let's all ignore the combined vehicle mode, okay?

The combined robot mode makes me think of the combined modes of the rescue vehicles from Gao Gai Gar.

Yes, they will be called Dreadwing and Darkwing. Only, grass is not an element. They'll use earth instead.

I do actually. They have the super stylized asthetic that most of the Animated line has. I'm also beginning to suspect that these figures will be better in person. Sure they may not be the greatest Animated figures, but they'll probably be okay.

I looked at the pictures and noticed that the individual figures do have hands! They're tucked into the armour, kinda like G1 Vortex.

Yep! Look carefully at the guy I'm assuming is Jetfire (orange one) In the area where his right hand should be you'll notive a slight bulge that looks like it is not part of the transformation. I'm willing to bet that it's a hand.

both of there jet modes look like the racers from f zero game & tv series as seen below the combiner feature looks good if it had hands combinre reminds me of two face seperatly in robot modes they remind me of subzero & scorpion from mortal kombat.
