Looks like GaoGaiGar isn't dead yet. I'm still going to get these. There's some great mold choices on the individual bots and there's saving elements to the jet modes as well. This looks hundreds of times better than Bandai's attempts at similar figures and then there's always the chance that their combined robot form is woefully mistransformed, I mean this IS hasbro. Granted their colors clash and the vehicle combination is saddening, but I'd rather reward an attempt to make up for the awful "Mega Dinobot" from Energon than dismiss this outright. Particularly with such unique versions of now classic TF characters.

Oil Slick is actually pretty cool. I didn't like him, either, until I picked him up. 100% with you on Jetstorm/Jetfire, though.

i started out HATING the animated designs.. picked afew up.. started to like it, picked afew more up, had one or two sent to me by a friend abroad, like it even more... but this.. ugh.. might just pick up a couple others season 1/2 characters and be done with it..

People keep saying that it's possible they're mistransformed. While that's true, I doubt the pictures are far off the mark here. Sometimes a design is just bad, no matter how much work you put into it.

No matter how you spin it, this set is pure crap

the packaging says the combined form is called safegaurd,i don't know if this means anything,but i think that the animation model has actual hands...

That is just sad. I thought we were done with toy ruining gimmicks when the Cybertron line ended.

Wow these really look bad. These are the first TFA figures that have dissapointed me. The alt modes look incomplete, the bots have no hands, the combined alt mode is just the two jet sandwiched together, and the combined bot mode still lacks hands. I'll still get these since I have all the rest and maybe these guys will grow on me once I have them in hand, but man so much potential wasted.

My one complaint about Oil Slick is that his transformation is kinda "been there, done that". (Okay, I also wish he was in the cartoon, butthat's not a complaint about the toy and I'll get to see him in action when the next "Arrival" issue comes in the mail, at least.) Both modes are nice, and he's worth the ten bucks. Give him a chance, he'll grow on you.

These guys are not Oil Slick. They're doing the opposite of growing on me... Not sure what it's called, but... I'm tempted not to give them a chance, and that's odd for me.

Intersting things to note from the Entertainment Earth page: It says their combined form is named Safeguard (what, not something that starts with Jet? Weird choice...), and that they come with a comic rather than a DVD. The box art shows Safeguard with hands, so I'm hoping they flip out of the back of the feet and someone just forgot; it wouldn't be the first time a Hasbro employee mistransformed something. I'm worried about the comic, though; I'm suspecting it'll either be an in-house rush-job that's not really worth reading or it'll be a reprint of stuff from "The Arrival" that I'll have already seen because I'm subscribed to it and which probably won't involve the toys it comes with at all.

I'll probably buy this anyways... But I'm hoping it winds up being better than it looks.

Wow my suck o meter just read off the scale. Boy those are the two worst figures I have ever seen and the fact that they combine doesn't help them at all. Also when they combine in plane mode if you can even call that a plane it looks like the orange plane is doing something nasty to the blue plane.

I just don't think they look like an Animated toy. I mean, despite the fact that they're very ugly, and missing hands, and kinda fruity.

They don't look like they're part of the same line as the rest of the Animated toys. All my Animated toys look like they go together. Those 2 look like they belong in another toy line, Cybertron,...or Power Rangers. :roll:

I like them, I know everyone else hates them, but I like them. I believe they have fold out hands that are mistransformed.

For example: Universe 2.0 Cheetor, obviously the first part of the arm hanging off is supposed to go forward onto those tabs,which no one else noticed which I don't understand.

But with what others have said, this isn't the first time people said they weren't gonna get something, and end up getting it.

Take Animated, at first, people were like "WTF!!!! Wheres my G1!!?!?!?!1!!1!one!!!!"
If you want G1, go watch G1 and play with G1 toys, easy as that.

Everyone said they hated Animated's style, but the show is good, has a storyline, good characters, and good toys.

So, To whom it may concern: Get over it, stop whining.

I like them.

Those are really bad! I had high hopes for these but now, not so much. I do really like how they've done a symmetrical combiner. But this sucks. And the combined jet mode is more disturbing than Dreadwing and Smokejumpers.
