My reviews

Luck Star Episode 1:

First, this anime was so bad, I had to remove all sharp objects from the room and take all the medicine out of the cabinet, so I don't Suicede myself. yeah, it's that bad.

If I could rank this show from one to ten it would be a negitive sixty. It's not even remotely funny. It tries to be funny, but it is boring. Another thing is that it trys to be "cool" by having them randomly swear for no reason. Realy? was that nessesary? Another thing, WHY THE F*** DID THEY TALK ABOUT HOW THEY EAT FOOD FOR LIKE FIVE MINUTES??? WHAT A STUPID WAY TO ADD THINGS!!! :-x

The only reason they put that there was so they could fill up time and save one or two good ideas. The only good thing was the Lucky Channel, and even that was Medeocre. That pink-haired girl needs to calm down.

Over all, DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW!!!! that is all

What swearing are you talking about??? I somehow get the feeling you’ve watched a crappy fansub as on the official release there was no swearing like you speak of.

I'm just telling people to never watch Lucky Star. The intro is almost as as annoying as caramelldancen. and there was swearing. I saw no reason for there to be though. and Why is it a shoen anime? it should be more for girls in my opinion. It is a bit too girly for my tastes.

But you don’t give any good reasons and on some of that stuff you were just wrong. Besides, it’s a matter of prospective, some people won’t think like you so warning them of the show like you do is kind of pointless.

It just feels like it was slapped together at the last minute. and why are all the girls flat chested and short? they are all the same age as sailor moon, and should have simmalr body perportions

who else would I compare them with, Arcee? this in an anime fourm. I mentioned an Anime. What's the problem?

It's the artist's style that makes them look so young. Not sure if you knew that. Like how Matt Groening designed all his characters with huge overbites.

I'm watching the first episode of Lucky Star, and I have to say: Oh my God, it's Seinfeld. But...with Japanese schoolgirls.

Even the part where they're discussing eating, makes me think about Seinfeld's prolonged discussions about nothing. But it takes the "show about Nothing" factor too a new level--In ten minutes they've gone through three unrelated topics--and you have to think, how often do you have just one conversation throughout the day?

I liked how they kicked the crap out of Guile, and if you can say it wasn't Guile, I can say you've never played Street Fighter.

It was fun. It wasn't as good as, let's say, Death Note, but if I compare everything to Death Note I'll always be disappointed. It's not for everyone, such as people who want a linear story.

But if you judge an entire series by it's first episode, then you need to take a step back, smack yourself, then keep watching the series. If everyone judged every series by it's first episode, no one would know how Gundam ZZ ended. (PS Haman Dies, dur)

Good for you? I never said it was bad. It was actually pretty good. I compared it to Seinfeld, one of the best sitcoms of all time, how do you get "mediocre" out of that?

[color=deeppink]I thought Home Improvement was the best Sitcom? My opinion. It was OK, but I found It annoying. It also refrences Haruhi, another anime I don't like. and for the last time, HOW IS THIS A SHOEN? Not bad, but it is certainly not good. And why didn't they translate/dub the intro?

no, home improvement is a good sitcom but it's far from the best, I'd rate the shoe Tidus higher.

I don't know whether or not it's shonen... or care for that matter

they didn't translate it because they want you to work for it and translate the lyrics yourself!

It think it's because there's huge difference between yelling about how a series is bad after one episode, and giving the episode a fair judgment.

If you want to call a series bad, watch it to the end. I did this with Evangelion; I didn't think it was all that great, but I'm not about to call it the worst series ever, because I understand it's got a big fanbase, and my opinion doesn't apply to everyone.

In short, there's a difference between saying "this is the worst series ever blarg blarg" and saying "It's not for everyone, I didn't like it, but try it out for yourself."

While we're on the subject, in the episode of Lucky Star I watched, there was no swearing.

Ok, in the same vein(and in an attempt to sway the conversation slightly)and forgive me if its been covered already.

What is it that makes a series good to you?

For me, the characters have to have a certain extent of depth. The characters and story combined need to leave me with at least a hint of emotion.

If a character dies and i'm left thinking "so?", then they aren't doing a very good job. Sadly i'm drawing a blank as far as examples of this...but they are out there.

A good story and writing. I honestly don't mind if the art isn't all that great, which is why I enjoy Shin Chan. Interesting characters are, of course, a must.

If it can make me cry, laugh, or squee, it meets my criteria. And it usually takes a combination of everything. Characters are paramount of course because they can make or break a show if the story, music, or art are lacking. But sometimes no matter how good the rest of the show is, if the characters aren't up to a certain standard, it won't succeed in my eyes.

If a show has decent romantic interaction I doubt I could find it in my heart to dislike it completely, as that is probably the part of any story that I enjoy the most and always brings out the best and worst of my emotions.

CHAOS;HEAD - Episode 1

Welcome back to the NHK.

I couldn't help but think that this reminds me so much of NHK ni Youkoso with a little more focus on extreme fantasy. Rather than being a full blown hikkikomori the focus is more toward paranoid delusion side of the condition. Is it bad that I always see so much of myself in characters like Takumi? Only not quite so badly warped. ^_^;

At the end of the episode I wasn't really sure how much of what he was seeing was real or not. Especially whether or not the oh so yummy Yua was actually there in his room, and whether or not the metal spike was real.

It was really very interesting, I'd recommend it to anybody who likes to think about human mental condition, or those who just like the daily life type of show.

Hyakko - Episode 1

I could have slept through the first eighteen minutes of this, but the last six minutes saved it.

Judging from the shots of random characters we got in the last few minutes and from the interaction with the teacher it looks like it has the potential to be be a funny as Bamboo Blade, though I don't personally think it will come close to how awesome Bamboo Blade was.

But we'll see what happens next week and hopefully get a better taste of whether or not it will be worth it to keep watching.

Toradora! - Episode 2

A marked improvement in behaviour this week from Taiga. I hope it is a recurring trend as I cannot handle that ZnT Inu nonsense that makes me grind my teeth with suppressed rage. There's something about Kitamura that bothers me... I know there's evil hiding behind those glasses.

Even though the target couple is obviously Ryuuji and Taiga, I would like Ryuuji to get Minori as is his intent.

... I don't much care for the little doll. Sorry, she gives me Louise nightmares.
