That's real sad. You can probably get some animated figures today for o.k prices on Ebay. Probably not Rodimus now, he's one of the more expensive ones.
I think the only Animated figure I regret never picking up was Ultra Magnus. I saw him a couple times, even the Roadbuster repaint, but never pulled the trigger on him at the time.

Love that mold. I have there white Galvatron repaint and its one of the few things I keep out on display permanently.
It's an awesome figure altogether.
I'd buy a purple re-issue in heart beat. But it would probably be around Commander price these days with all the hinges and ball joints and his bf spear.

He's actually holding my KO SS BB Prime Gun.
As well as a 3rd party upgrade kit that gives him articulated hands, a matrix, and a jetpack.

As an aside, ER Optimus feels kinda like a Classics Deluxe or Robotmasters Optimus that got scaled up just enough to not have an unaligned disaster of a truck mode rather than a properly-sized CHUG Optimus

Nope. The gun RID Optimus is holding is the one from Power of The Primes Optimus / Orion Pax that breaks up into two small pistols.
The guns from the kit are smooth, one is black, and the other translucent blue.

I bought him back in 2001. so yes, was brand new when I got him. He's of drinking age now. The problem being his crotch and thighs rub against the chest when transformed and the armor also rubs against it, and have apparently rubbed off the chrome after 21 years.

I actually got Takara Fire Convoy version and so far it has with stood time on the chrome parts and hopefully more to come!
