Not really, the Scattershot idea was good, which makes this even more an unlikable idea

Actually i think that the Universe Suntreaker/Sideswipe mold would work better, and believe me after having seen someone do it, it looked good!

Ahaha, I want it. So bad.

Too bad it wasn't, like, Skybite. I'd love to run around with Landshark screaming "OMNOMNOM!" like a nut job.

I find it ironic because I'm sitting here in-game waiting for this mofo to spawn. Lol.

I'm with Thunderthruster on this! Those suggestions seem to hit along the same end result as this set. Not totally dismissing all the suggestions mentioned earlier. I believe next years set will be more directed at the Universe figures. They are running out of new generic type molds to repaint. Well not really, but the ones worth repainting. With there already being 3 versions of the 350Z (Prowl, Silverstreak, & Smokescreen) I would only want to see one other character take that mold! (Bluestreak) Alot of you may not remember, but the original fold out sheet showing all other available figures from 84 had Bluestreak and IMO looked better than Silverstreak!

Well, there's not that many molds to choose from when you think about it. It'd hard to make the remaining Autobot cars and Stunticons without repeating molds. BotCon themselves repeats molds every year.

And if you think about, E-Bulkhead would make a great Sky Linx(notice the spelling). Both are 2 parts that transform separately and combine. The bottom part is some indescribable thing that transforms by unfolding the legs down. And a space shuttle and helicopter may be slightly different, but look at that face. If Sky Linx had a real robot mode, he'd have an awesome mustache like that. :D

Personally, I had to go quite a ways down UltrPrimals lists before I found something that just didn't work well. BotCons list...well, that was easy. It's short and it all sucks. They are trying too hard to force concepts and ideas to take shape. There are some good molds being used, just not to the best potential. Similarly, other ideas are being passed over entirely that could work quite well for an Elite Guard themed box-set and could also help keep the price down on such a set. You have to admit, Landshark being as big as he is is part of what will keep the price up on this set. They could have done better with a smaller figure. I feel somewhat insulted as a collector by this set and I would be surprised if many of you didn't feel the same. Obviously, I won't buy it and I respect the choice of those who do buy it because that is your right. I just feel like the sets are taking a slow downturn and that the creative "ship" is drifting off course.

I do not like the generic color scheme, and I was hoping for a redeco or retool of Energon Sharkticon.

I liked UltraPrimal's ideas about having the G1 Predacons represented by Beast Wars era toys. Sure they wouldn't combine, but I'm sure with most of the Transmetal molds they could cobble together a decent team, in fact the only one I have a problem thinking of is Divebomb. Airazor is probably the closest, unless there is a Japanese mold I don't know of. Other than that go with UP's suggestions. They could even have a couple of Autobot/Maximals for them to fight as the extra figures. TM Megs with a new head as Grimlock, Terrorsaur as Swoop or even Tigerhawk as Skylynx!
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I would have been much much much more satisfied with this set had they chosen Energon Sharkticon instead of this "over-rated" figure. Seriously. Sharkticon was such an awesome mold, but sufferred from a pretty odd looking color scheme (I'm not a fan of the vomit yellow, black and lavender purple on that mold). I don't even see why everyone seems to love the landmine mold anyway, that backpack thing is clunky, and it one of the worst implemented gimmicks thrown in Energon in my opinion. It doesn't make landmine look tougher wuth it attached to him, he just looks more riddiculous, and weighed down by all that stuff.

To be honest though, I'm much more relieved that I didn't preorder a non-attending set now that landshark isn't a repaint of e-sharkticon. (Would have gone to this year's convention, but it conflicts with the week of my college finals). Much more relieved, now that landshark isn't e sharkticon, and thats an understatement. I'll be content with the previous 6 years exclusive sets thank you very much.

I'd actually really like Energon Bulkhead repainted as Sky Lynx. It would be fitting if they use the Universe Leo Prime mold for Razorclaw as well so he'd have an opponent.

I'm thinking that we'll be seeing the Leo Prime mold in the set of exclusives this year because as CP mentioned in an earlier thread, FP always removes the electronics for Botcon figures.

I think it's time to update the speculation thread...

Shame Hasbro will never base a universe fig of what the G1 was based off of, look at the twins, yeas they're both still lamborgini's, but they're different models to what they were origonally, Ironhide wasnt an SUV, Bumblebee wasnt a boy racer hatchback.

Hell, they may actually make a new mold for Wheeljack!

The thing that sucks is that Hasbro is so close to finishing off the G1 cars...but besides Wheeljack, the remaining vehicles are boring ones.

It should be Hasbro's goal (since they totally blew off the 25th Anniversary), to remake the first year of G1.

And do Hoist/Trailbreaker count as cars? I'd like to see a Universe/Classics update of them too.

Tracks is awesome. He, IMO, has THE best design of any car transformer. He's got a flying car mode and missile launchers behind his head and wings on his back. Not to mention the flaming Autobot insignia that Hot Rod stole off him. What else could you ask for?
