I guess it's time to say the lament that rises like Dracula from the Grave.
I miss Woolworths. Woolworths functioned as one of the largest Toy Importers and even if (usually when) Hasbro made a hash out of distribution they offered another source.
What was particularly strange though is this - when ASDA wasn't owned by Walmart they had more imported toys than they did when they were. and that was when they were a smallish supermarket chain.
Now they have many many more stores and they still have zip in the way of toys - some of the 3/4 size stores which are 4 times the size or larger than most shops about 1/5th larger than say a Poundstretcher and equal to most Wilko stores - and they have not toys at all - except maybe some blind bag stuff shoved by the magazines or sometimes a standee with hotwheels in it.
All that floor space a yet non for toys - and then what is classed as normal size store gets one isle and 2/3rds of that is tat the sort of things chinese wholesalers sell by the crate for $400 a crate. They once had a 12 foot section of nothing but beach balls in a town that is 45 miles away from the sea.
Modern Supermarkets are idiots and that is just my feelings as they apply to Toys I spend a modest amount of my time ranting about other areas too on Twitter like Yogurt [laugh]
https://twitter.com/Red_RescueMean while in Tesco it was an event worth of much rejoicing that I found Legion Class Springload and Starscream in a Tesco recently.
Where as in the other big store all they had was blind bag and one steps (though I did get a large Thunderbird 3 with smoke tech for £12.49 - which was nice) and in the 3rd large store the had nothing but blind bags and one leftover blue Optimus legion all on his own.
Annoyingly they always used to sell Voyagers - I don't think I've seen a Voyager in a Tesco near me since Sharkticon Megatron was out.
It's exasperating stuff. and even the local Toymaster doesn't sell Titans Returns "at all" in fact it also doesn't sell Rescue Bots or RID either. all it has is Legends & Voyager Class Combiner Wars - same as B&M does.
If you see Transformers in a clearance place it's ALWAYS Mashups. and anything else is a minor miracle and usually something like Hexbugs - Home Bargains being especially egregious there. especially when they sell a lot of Hasbro toys - just none of them are Transformers.
