Not a brag, more a commentary on the nature of 2^level scoring.

I got 2% damage on a level 10 and though I lost the mission I scored more than twice as many points.

It does sorta tick me off that I never transform to ram high levels only ever try and hit them with my weapon. Against lower levels I will transform and ram at a decent frequency (maybe 20-25% of all attacks) versus 0% in ~150 missions with somewhere between 50-100 weapon attacks against levels 8+.

Yeah... Insofar as Ryan/Vir thought it through, I'm pretty sure 2^x scoring was really never designed with mixed-level missions in mind.

On tactics, unless something's changed behind the scenes (and I suspect it probably hasn't) the target's level was never taken into account when choosing which attack to do. Only your tactic level mattered.

That's what I thought, that's why it seems weird to me. Granted, I don't get many attacks in most of the 1-11 missions and now that I think about it I was a repairer for about 2/3rds of those missions, so that 50 number would be a lot less since we can't count missions I wouldn't have transformed to attack anyway. (I do have 3 repairs against higher levels and a handful more against lower levels).

Yeah 2^level scoring never made sense.
I always thought triangular scoring would be more appropriate.
1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36, 45, 55, 66, 78
versus
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048

It would make getting to level 11 much more difficult (probably about 10x as long to get to level 11, but only about 3x to get to level

, but levels 0-4 would go a little faster and upper levels would not become 'xp whores' in cross level missions. Of course base costs could also be adjusted by a factor to make it a little more reasonable.

Got 4 rams in on Magnus Prime, a level 11. 137,266 for a level 2. Well I guess I'll be level 3 after this mission! Autobots may have won the battle, but I was certainly the long term beneficiary here.

Hey, I gotta keep you healthy so you can do the real damage to our enemies. My X-Ray laser can only do 1% to any decent opponent and that's if I'm lucky enough to hit.

It doesn't seem to happen often, but when a level 1-2 gets a repair on a level 11 it is a nice jackpot!! Got you halfway through level 2 in 1 mission.

We may not have been able to put any bots in stasis lock, but they couldn't finish us off either. We eventually got them to give up and retreat. Oh, and did I mention Louie managed to earn 800,744 xp in the process!!

Or repair is too powerful at higher levels :-P

With repairs and strafes doing similiar damage (and weapon attacks doing neglible damage) when the majority of people in a mission are repair/strafers there is a chance that mission will last awhile. Usually doesn't work out this well for us (especially in a loss) as once one person goes down everyone on that side seems to go down quickly.
