Welcome fellow Canuck, We do have an Ontario contingent so hopefully you won't have to wait too long for a response.
Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

Yeah, Ravage hasn't been sighted much yet but should be starting to show up soon.

Might grab some of the few Deluxes I like then. Quick question for the BC crew, anybody seen GIJoe:ROC single figures out yet? I've seen vehicles and play packs but no regular figs yet.

Funny you should mention that. TRU has as a sale on basic Joes, $6.97 instead of damn near $10. Alpha vehicles are also on sale, but they're still overpriced/ugly.

I can't help with the Joes unfortunately, I don't collect or pay attention to them. I'll keep an eye out next time though.

You're kidding, right? Toys On Fire is run by hardcore scalpers. Legends Action Figures on St. Hubert street is much better. Their prices are more reasonable.

I agree completely that Legends has better prices overall, but TOF has an entire specialty Transformers corner; while Legends will essentially stock whatever's coming to most retail stores, but that's all. They get stuff in Legends never does; they're my source for MP Grimlock, for example. Put simply, I don't think I've ever seen anything from Takara at legends apart from a bookbox reissue every once or twice, and I'm sure those were bought from customers.
A lot of the time, buying figs from TOF actually comes out to be the same amount as it would were I to order something online and incur shipping/customs fees, if not less - and there's the perk of not having to hope nothing wrong happens during said shipping process. I'm not going to be silly and buy things from TOF I could easily find at retail, however - that just ain't smart shopping. But if I want some manner of Target/TRU exclusive I'd never see on shelves in Quebec, or even Canada? Bingo.

I know what you mean. Still, I wasn't willing to shell out the 200 they wanted for MP Megs. For Hasbro MP Starscream, they wanted something like $125... I try hard NOT to buy stuff from them because I really don't like their prices. Even at the ToyCons, they charge too much aren't competitive. That being said, they DO stock a lot of unique stuff, like exclusives and imports!
How much do they charge for MP Grimlock, by the way?

I won't be buying their MP Thundercracker though, I believe they're charging $150 for him. Online, in that case, would be cheaper.
Their prices are wonky at times. When I was picking up the GI Joe 25th series, I'd see some figures I knew were tougher to get ahold of at either very nice prices, like Major Bludd for about 9.99, or insane ones like Lady Jaye for 19.99.

Broadway TRU is behind a wave it seems, they didn't even have Chromia or Wheelie yet. If they did have anything new, the hyenas got to them long before I got there.
Metro TRU had the newer wave, surprisingly the Smokescreens were almost out, but I got one. The sale was a good excuse to get one, and they didn't have anything else I wanted, aside from the still-overpriced 2-pack.
Zellers was the same old mess.

It's $29.99 in the States.
I thought it was worth the price-tag. If Alternators were still running, they'd probably be at the same price. It's definitely a fun toy, and the relatively in-scale Sam figure (and future human figures) are pretty cool. I personally can't wait for the HA Sideswipe now.

I was on the fence about it. May swing by to Walmart to pick it up. It did look good in package. Cheers bud!

Back in the day, the Alternators were more or less selling at the exact same price tag. And since they're more or less the same class size, it always kinda amazes me when people whine about how much the HA sets cost.

Thanks for posting that. I thought I was smoking something. Compare $30 CAD for an Alt to $50 CAD for a HA. I have an issue with that. Walmart $40 for a HA is better but still when it is $30 US in the US. Just a matter of principle and fairness. Some prices are just wacky. This is one of them.
