Sorry about the confusion about the "beast" thing. I was worried that some people might misconstrue that, I should have been clearer in the post.

And do you guys realize that an A-10 Warthog is 53 ft. long? He would actually be one of the few classics that is close to being in scale with the cars. Of course the F-15 is over 63 ft. long so that throws out scale with the seekers.

I'm totally stoked to see what this mold looks like!

I think we are supposed to see the rest of the Universe pics when
we get the club newsletter. We've been instructed to not scan the pics though. Although it will probably happen.

I'm not going to get too bent out of shape on Powerglide until we see the new mold in all its glory.

also there are still many months between now and release so will be tweaks.

I know that having all figures in scale is impossible, but come on.

Come on what? Remember, this isn't G1 it's Universe. Sure it's highly influenced by G1 and the like but it's a seperate entity. The only really G1 thing were going to get out of Universe would be the Seacons.

To put the mold thing to rest, they won't do a wingsaber repaint so soon after doing one in the Movie line.

Come on, as in, okay, I'll bite, it is a separate "entity", but how 'bout use the Ultra class for figures that were relatively big.
Not to mention, even though I'm all for getting slightly obscure characters in plastic,
Powerglide wasn't that popular.
I know I'm complaining, but it just seems like another situation where Hasbro maybe hasn't made the best decision.
Hopefully he's cooler than we're all expecting.

It's like having Movie Deluxe Bumblebee. It's a realistically shaped car. But it doesn't have an interior. It doesn't have popping hood or opening doors. But it is easily recognizable as a realistic car. It has the proportions of a real car. In the case of Prime, i won't even ask for a specific brand to pattern after. Just a generic realistically proportioned truck will do.

So, then what does MP Primes' alt mode make you think of, if not a truck? I doubt anyone would look at MP Prime and not recognize it as a truck. If Bumblebee is your example of what you'd want, then you kind of are wanting a specific kind of truck, like how movie Prime was a Peterbuilt. Again, if you want a super realistic model truck, why not buy one of those instead of a toy who's point is providing disguise for a robot?

It's a grossly disproportionate and warp truck. So i wouldn't call that a realistic truck. It just looks like a robot trying hard to be a truck. But failed. Hardly a disguise.

I have to admit, a Powerglide that looms over any of the 1.0 figures and most, if not all, of the upcoming 2.0 line will take some getting used to.

Exactly...
Adding a huge Powerglide to any Classics collection (no matter how complete/incomplete) is gonna be bizzare, whether you just display the figs., or play with the figs.

My vote would've been make an Ultra Devastator that doesn't combine/separate, but is highly detailed and awesomely articulated.
This would allow good playability, displayability, AND would kinda be in scale with ALL of the Classics (except other Ultra characters).

"Ultra Powerglide" just makes it seem like he should be a total badass...
And he's not.

Pffft, says you. Powerglide has mad game. He bagged the Paris Hilton of the Transformers world. The only other 'bot to come close was Seaspray and what did he catch? "A Fish Called Wanda" of the Transformers world (there's a crabs joke in there somewhere)

You're really not making any sense. You insist that Prime's truck mode is "disproportianate," but at the same time acknowledge that it isn't a replica of a specific truck. How can his proportions be wrong if there isn't a right version to compare them to? "hardly a disguise"? It looks like a truck to everyone else who's ever seen the thing. So, again, what do trucks look like where you come from?

Back on topic: got no problem with an Ultra Powerglide, as long as he's good. Hell, why weren't the same people complaining about Bumblebee being a deluxe, or Jetfire a Voyager when he should have been at least an Ultra?

As for Sunstreaker, having seen the picture... hmm. Not bad. His arms are a bit skinny. Still gonna buy him. And Sideswipe. And Probably any other repaint/remould they do.

Well I think folks need to hold total judgement until Sunstreaker gets into people's hands and we see a proper Seibertron gallery of him. Alot of figures I'd normally pass on were given new consideration there.

I have come up with a theory about the name tankor does anyone remember reading that all figures will be based of season 1 & 2 of the g1 show, well octane didn't show up till season three so maybe that is why they changed his name to tankor.

Good theory, but I'm more inclined to think that it was just a trademarking issue. Nine time out of ten that's the reason. Much like Energon Downshift, maybe they just ran out of time to trademark the name.

I really like sunstreaker he looks fantastic. Onslaught looks great aswell but I want to see a pic of alt mode first. Tankor (Octane) I have no problem with the name change but I need to see a pic of him before I know what to think but for now TANKOR SMASH. I haven't seen anything of prowl or powerglide so I can't say much about him but I do have high hopes for them. I like the looks of what i've seen so far its 10 out of 10 for this set already.

In that case, why not just call him Decepticon Octane, or warrior Octane, or some other name like that?

Or Octain.
Looks the same sounds similar but still makes that much a difference for trademarking.

Ladies, Gentlemen

They are shown already to us, we now know what is coming, I really believe that all the money that I going to save no purchasing any crApnimated toys, will be well use on Classics!!!
they are just awesome, Powerglide is a little odd, having a mini bot on that size, but I could get use to it.... Prowl, awesome, Octane AKA Tankor, amazing... I mean they all look fantastic

So he'll be as tall as Voyager Prime?
