4 hours?! For real? I spent a good amount of time searching today too. To no avail.

The date is so hard to make out. The I.D. Stamps are in a precarious spot.
One side reads: BANDAI (and I think) 1993
The other: 2 rows of kanji then the name Asatsu. which I googled and found nothing conclusive.

'93 feels right. It was an Xmas gift somewhere between 91 and 94.

I'm gonna dig through a box of old paperwork tonight after the kids go to sleep. But Z, it's late in the UK! Go to sleep dude!

We're on the same page there.
But man, the more I hear/learn about this corp. that bought them and rolled their debt into them, the very same company that did the same thing to KB toys and killed them too, the more flabbergasted I become. I may swing left, but I'm no raging socialist even if I see some merit in it, but capitalism really gets my goat sometimes.

And @ Z-Wolf, I went digging through my boxes of paper work and still found nothing on that Centaur dude.

The fire sale hasn't begun in our TRU's, but I will miss the childhood memories of going there and having my mind blown by the sheer number of toys, games, everything! It always had the widest selection, not to mention exclusives that will most likely be online-only now, including MPs for the US.

This must mean it's time to open up a little toy shop.

I almost did go into business selling toys but it was working out how much I would have to sell to make ends meet that my dream fell apart. I was going to have to charge a lot and for a small shop it would have been a death knell. It would have dealt in new toys and old. I don't know how it works in America but here in the UK you have to pay business rates after a year and they cost more depending on where you are, they are also a killer of businesses as you have to be an established business already to survive. You can go off the high street to get lower rates but then you're less visible and it becomes more hand to mouth existence.

About 15 years ago, there was a small Japanese import toy shop in the heart of downtown Portland, OR. He was literally in a hole in the wall kind of space, but I imagine rent was cheap!

Since then, he's moved, and now primarily sells J-style urban clothing. He might've had a BAPE MP10 for $300.

The other little shops have legos and other toys for younger kids -- but I'd totally want a vintage/ new store. Kinda like this: https://roguetoys.com/

But that's obviously not where the money's at -- it would have to be a labor of love, location and luck to survive for 15+ years...

I had been passing on these neat toys since they came out. My reissue of the classic 80's Bandai toy always seemed to be all the Voltron I needed.
Plus I helped Willy James acquire his big Voltron set, and got to play with him before I shipped it north. Thanks WJ! Great toy for sure.

But I was at Target today and noticed that they were all on clearance. Most at 50% off. I had heard the same report from my brother out in L.A.
I buckled. I went ahead and picked up the Metal Defender diecast combining set for half off. He's a pretty great little figure with decent articulation when combined. The individual lions are nice too, with great leg articulation. Not sure he would have been worth the full price, but well worth it at half. And I won't lie and say I wasn't tempted to get the big Classic set, but....



I'm a little bummed to see the line might be ending.
If anybody needs to finish their sets, now is a good time to strike.

Funnily enough we're just starting to get these toys advertised here in the UK, which is odd as voltron never really caught on here. I remember Manga Ent tried to bring out the original series remastered on dvd but never finished the releases.

I saw at Toy Fair that they are making a newly retooled version of the original big guy with the giant magic wings and some new paintwork and I think new weapons here. I thought about getting that Black lion because of the beautiful wings

The Big Bun Bun hid the eggs inside this year thanks to Jack Frost working over time. The Tronettes had a good time hunting, and the Growed Trons had a blast watching. We are all settled in and playing with the goodies we got in our baskets.

The ol' White Hare even brought Papa Tron some surprises!


I ran to TRU to get some last minute basket stuffers on the cheap, and grabbed those nice little rock candy Turtles (Mega Bloks).
I ran to Walmart to pick up the Mega Construx He-Man I ordered online because he's getting hard to find in store now. I also had to pick up some Easter candies, and of course I lucked out and found the PotP wave2 Legends (FINALLY!), and I couldn't resist that little Cpt. Kirk.
This wraps up Wave 2 PotP for me!

All done! Most likely skipping Evolution Prime. Maybe skipping Unirodus. If I find him on sale, he may become a work desk bot, but I haven't even seen him yet. But this new Nemyy Prime on the front page is looking more interesting with his dope ass t-forming bird sword.

Back at you Buddy-pal! Battletrap is dope! All around. Definitely a surprise standout for PotP.

The kids got spoilt with easter eggs and lego, my oldest has gone head over heels for it. Hopefully battletrap will be mine soon, I'm making plans. I've also been tempted by that mod position that's going here, just to annoy you admins with questions

Cobo, I am contemplating a purchase that I am sure would make you cream across the screen.

The deal is too good to be true. The only problem is that

a) I dont know Gaikin
b) I really dont have much space for 3 robots that are one foot tall each and can combine into Gaikin the great

Gaiking the great you say? Don't worry gaiking the great is actually one part each from three robots also it's a neat design though the name of the other two robots has skipped my mind at the moment.

@cobo burn made a post in the global announcements part of the forum saying you (as in the staff) were looking for a mod to join the ranks

Gaiking you say?! Sounds sweet. I'm on a big Bandai/old 70's robots kick ATM. I actually have something very interesting on it's way. Should be here this week. Do you have any pics you could share of this set?
