Still gonna get Wheeljack.
Not gonna lie, you are missing out if you skip MP Wheeljack. It really has some Masterpiece moments during transformation.Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:So, based (partly) on suggestions from you guys and video reviews, I think I have decided what MP's I'm going to get. Of course, big ones like Magnus and Prime had to be cut due to costs, and I decided against Wheeljack due to the fact that I just don't like the look of the MP for some reason.
's:
MP-28 Hot Rod: His design looks really good, I like the transformation, and he is at an affordable price.
KFC toys Doubledeck: Blaster has always been one of my favorite's, and the Twincast deco looks good on him. Plus, he comes with 2 cassettes as opposed to Transistor's 1.
(Now of course, Doubledeck can go jump off a cliff if either Takara does an MP Jazz or TnR Hova ever comes out)
's:
MP-29 Shockwave: Needs no explanation.
MP-13B Soundblaster: I always loved Soundwave, and he looks really good in black and red. Plus, he's more affordable than the regular Soundwave.
Toyworld Devil Star: Astrotrain is awesome, and this one is the most affordable.
As a side thing (I don't consider this a full MP):
MP-16 Buzzsaw and Frenzy Rumble: Rumble and Buzzsaw were always my favorite of thecassettes, and Soundwave would feel incomplete without them

Come to the KO cassette bot side, we have cookies.william-james88 wrote:Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:As a side thing (I don't consider this a full MP):

You might want to rethink that one buddy. The size might not be MP, but the price certainly is. In my opinion, they are not worth the price they are currently going for online and plus you can not tell if someone will send you a KO version instead since thee have been KO's to death. My advice is to just get the KO since at least you know what you are getting and not paying a crazy fee. I am not for encouraging KO purchases, but in this case, the primary market is sold out so it's not like anyone in the supply chain of official products will be missing out of money.
Not entirely true. Chimung still has them. Expensive, but not eBay expensive. And they're the real deal.william-james88 wrote:You might want to rethink that one buddy. I never once said that I wouldn't spring for a KO. However, my only worry for getting one is that it might be of terrible quality.
Fair enough; I can personally vouch for Ratbat.Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:...my only worry for getting one is that it might be of terrible quality.

Hooray!!Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:EDIT: And Cram, I probably will get him at some point, but this list is just a starter.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
Cobotron wrote:DS. I think you have a good list. Don't know anything about those 3P figs but, they sound nice. Most important thing is you get what you like and makes you happy!
Cobotron wrote:Dudes, I had time last night to open up Onslaught and Sky Lynx. Onslaught is all that and a bag a chips.
Sky Lynx is awesome too. He is a little flimmsy and loosey goosey, as is the case with the current quality, but what a funky cool freak bot. The feet in robot(?) mode are kind os sucky as they can't hold up his weight. Mostly his back feet. But MAN OH MAN, this torso mode is bomb diggitilicious. His silouette is just dope looking, and he has all that sweet sculpted detailing. Head sculpt = Le sauce de awesome! I haven't had time to jam any limbs on him yet, but I'm thinking the White Knight limbs.
Cobotron wrote:With a Tigertron companion?
Wich ones? The feet? I did. Didn't help.Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:Try tightening the screws. Peaugh did that with his Sky Lynx, and it seemed to work
If you can catch him. If you do you will achieve lvl 7 Dudebro Warrior status.Decepticon Sunstorm wrote:My quest shall be complete

Cobotron wrote:Ya know the only minor complaint about that Astrotrain I have heard is his size is funky. Too small for MPs. Too big for Classics. I think that even came from Billy Jim. Doesn't mean you shouldn't get him. I have 3 of the Toyworld Dinobots and really like them.

itscramtastic wrote:I've been having a lot of fun transforming my figures lately, and his transformation just FEELS special. It's hard to explain. It's never frustrating (like getting all of the panels to snap together in altmode for Sideswipe) and always fun. Can't wait to receive Ironhide and Road Rage to try them out! I also just transformed Alternators Rodimus for the first time last night, it's my new favorite figure.

WJ88: Wheeljack is just great. I can't stop transforming him! More so than 'Bee or the Datsun bros!william-james88 wrote:Cram, I am right there with you. I dont know what it is about Wheeljack but yes, he feels special. He is my second favourite car transformer of all time (hell yeah, that's a list).itscramtastic wrote:I've been having a lot of fun transforming my figures lately, and his transformation just FEELS special. You got Alt Rodimus? nice! He's a tough one because he was only released exclusively and has been KO'd so I dont know how to tell if it's the right one.
And Cobotron, Rodimus uses the Alt Mirage mold.
Oh Cram, I cant find it anymore, could you send me a PM of that pic you posted of your MP 9 which finally just gave way? I was using your previous one for an article but this one brings the point home way more.
Cobotron wrote:Ya know the only minor complaint about that Astrotrain I have heard is his size is funky. Too small for MPs. Too big for Classics.
Oh man. The Ford GT mold was my absolute favourite of the Alt/BT line. Stunning in both modes, posable, and a joy to transform.itscramtastic wrote:I also just transformed Alternators Rodimus for the first time last night, it's my new favorite figure.
Yes! He's awesome. I really don't know why I never transformed him. So much fun. I really wouldn't mind getting Mirage (and thus double-dipping on the mold) to have a "regular" colorway. And he looks awesome too!shajaki wrote:Oh man. The Ford GT mold was my absolute favourite of the Alt/BT line. I know right? I was surprised how awesome he is (considering Hot Spot didn't excite me as much as I had hoped). I just took Bruticus apart this week and got to marvel at all the Combaticons all over again.Cobotron wrote:Onslaught is all that and a bag a chips.
That was one of the molds I've always kept an eye out for. That and the Grimlock Mustang. I'm right there with ya Cram on letting a bot sit for too long. My Alt Skids sat for years before I got back to him. I feel like I'm neglecting so many fun toys everydaya bunch of bots wrote:Alternates Ford GT mold stuff

I've been trying to spend more time in the botcave.

Totally kidding.
