The pictures are too grainy and blurry for me to make any final judgement, but I know I will end up buying most of them anyway.
Scourge may have his problems, but I don't want to pay ridiculous money for the Botcon ones anyway. I just have to have a G1 Neo Scourge and Sweeps for my collection (I came into Transformers past season 3 so most of these guys I never owned until they were reissued but even then I'm afraid to take it out of the box).
Also here's hoping that the Alternate head for Scourge will be Devcon.
As for Jazz, I already kitbashed the hell out of a Cybertron Smokescreen to get one, but I think I will get this one anyway.... cause I'm a TF whore, plain and simple. Any ideas on who would be the mold's Alternate head? Ricochet doesn't count. Omnibot?
Preceptor really has been hitting the gym, guess he got tired of Brawn picking at him. Too bad though, I loved the IDW Version. Again, I wonder who is the Alternate head on this one.
Tracks is spot on for me. I really do hope the Alternate head is an Omnibot.
Thunderwing, never had the original, so this is a must. Also, now I must build him a Matrix to carry around. Granted I wanted him to be bigger, but I can settle for a G1 Marvel sized one. However, I really hope those legs fold into the plane. Also, I don't why, but I want the Alternate head to be Black Shadow.
Grapple is a must, and hopefully he'll be way easier to get than Inferno was.
Lugnut is a maybe, but I rather have another G1 character, but I'm guessing a Generations Bulkhead is on the to do list. Again, any guess on the Alternate head?
Windcharger is a must, but I find myself actually complaining about how the torso is better hidden than the original, but it makes less accurate to the original.
Here's hoping for the Tailgate and Rook repaint. Also, maybe torso is a clue as to who the Alternate head will be. I'm guessing another G2 figure.
As for the legends, I usually pass on them, but the Optimus toy reminds me alot of Powermaster Prime from the last issues of the Marvel comic.
The PCC combiners are the want list, I already bought the first wave, so why stop now?

I agree completely. Even though the Tracks design was a blatant ripoof of the Firebird hood design, it was still different enough to sidestep a liscensing issue. And, it is flames.....not bird wings.
It's not about what he's meant to be, he's about how close it is to the real thing. Hasbro has avoided licensing issues by mixing and matching car models for the toys. For example, Universe Sunstreakers base model is the Lamborghini Gallardo, but it has features from other models, like the Murciélago and the Diablo for the back end.
I can see the current owner of General Motors easily suing Hasbro for, what they assume, using one of their old designs. Hasbro and court cases don't mix that well
I still don't believe it is the reason. I don't think that you make a bad point. Your Lambo example above is a very good example, and I definitely se and understand your point. However, I don't think this is the reason in this particular case.
The 80s were very different. The Transformers were not officially licensed by car companies. Hasbro got in trouble with the Sideburn Dodge Viper back around 2001 which is why they had to start slapping on the Dogdge and Dodge Viper logos on the packaging. Human Alliance Jazz is an officially licensed GM product, as are all of the movie toys that have logos to the companies to which the alternate mode belongs (Ford / Barricade, Starscream / Locklear, etc). GM is also heavily involved with Michael Bay's Transformers film franchise as well.
Well, the idea of companies licensing vehicles to toy makers is fairly new. They started hitting the scale model industry (which by their nature are more faithful than toys) back in the late '90s; LockMart was one of the first to demand fees (for Raptor models, IIRC).

Jazz: OMG YES.
Tracks: I can't wait to see his flying mode.
Thunderwing: HE' PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
Dinobots: AWESOME!
Constructicons: Maybe.
Scourge: Easy pass.
Grapple: Alright. The crane's a little bulky in robot mode, and without that mold's water cannon, he's weaponless, but still.
Windcharger: The bot finally gets love. Now where's Trailbreaker?
Legends: Nah.
Lugnut: NO WAY!
Perceptor: As a Mini-Con would say, he is a true bulk.
Where's Skullgrin and WFC Cliffjumper?

Though, my point still stands. I'm surprised so many people are satisfied with his small size.

The one thing that gets me about Jazz is... The wings!
Jazz dosn't have wings! not in the G1 cartoons, not in the comics...
Why does he have wings?!
Oh well, He's still a buy on sight for me, I'll just fold his wings down or something.

Ya know, this is the first time I actually noticed it, but Grapple has a different head too. I think that makes him the most estensive remold of an existing figure.

yes, yes the toy did, I have it... but neither the comic or cartoon version did. and with the toy you can sorta fold them to his back if the shoulder weapon isn't attached.
Also, Damn mine looks old and crappy compared to the one in the picture...

Well, cartoon and comic models do take liberties, it's in their nature. And you can't be show-accurate all the time when redesigning toys
That G1 Jazz is actually the first Takara Reissue, Bookbox style. The Encore one is still better as it uses the fixed Stepper face (the original face started degrading since G2) and fixes the alignment problem that plagued the Bookbox release.

Once you get him, all you have to do is swing him around violently while screaming out "Thunder...Thunder..Thunderwing...Hoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Another interesting detail has emerged from the Cybertron Convention. It appears that some of the upcoming Spring 2011 figures, unveiled to the public at the convention, will actually be part of a sub-line of Generations called "Reveal The Shield".

We don't have many more details yet, but it seems that the Legends figures, including the new molds of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream, as well as the Goldbug repaint of Legends Bumblebee will be part of this line. The line may also contain Jazz, Tracks, Grapple, Perceptor, Windcharger, and Lugnut. You can see the original images at TFClub, as well as a Google Translation.
As more details are revealed, we'll post them here on Seibertron.com.

Sounds kinda interesting. It sounds like those faction insignias that you reveal by pressing your finger on them and they change color. Guess we'll have to wait and see though.

Maybe some type of variation on the heat sensitive Faction symbols? Or maybe all figures will include a hidden faction symbol for you to find?
Still the deluxe class seems to be coming about nicely. I also Like Grapple quite a bit.

I thought I heard that Reflector was goning to be the alternate head.
I'm not too impressed with Perceptor. I don't mind him being a truck of some sort, but I wish he still had something resembling his microscope barrel on top on the vehicle and on his shoulder, instead of that rinky dink missle launcher. It's a big part of his character and would work on Reflector too.

Aren't they bringing back rub signs with Generations? At least I remember seeing them on the new Legends figures. I think that's what they mean. "Shields" = "rub signs".

Didn't someone say something about a Reflector repaint of Perceptor @ BotCon?

Everything but the legends are a must buy!
Lugnut HAS to be mistransformed. It looks like his upper and lower torsos are meant to slide together. There's no way how he looks in the pic is the way he's meant to be.
Rub-signs? I hope that is not the case. I've always preferred nice big blatant faction symbols rather than those gimmicky heat sensitive things. Not to mention the fact that the rub-signs just look butt-ugly when they're in black mode.
