You think they got osmeone to write a 90-page comic that coincidentally matches all information and footage of the movie as part of a misinformation campaign?

This. Sentinel Prime was never a good guy. He's Lawful Good in the negative sense (does what's good for his people, no matter who dies in the process.)

Sentinel thinks alo9ng the lines of "the end justifies the means". He's not evil, just incredibly prideful, arrogant, ignorant and dangerously misguided/stupid.
Megatron and Shockwave are clearly evil, Sentinel is not.
"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." fits this situation and character.
