Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Wasn't there a crazy rumour Omega Supreme was a weapons system in the form of a big ass bot?
If so he's going to expensive.
So far the only figure I like is Megatron.

El Duque wrote:These movie figures are really a dual edged sword. As fans and collectors we need them to do well even if we don't want or like them. The movie franchise has become the bread and butter of the TF universe for Hasbro. I'm not advocating buying figures you don't like for the sake of the property, but we better hope somebody buys them. The whole reason we have collector friendly lines such as RtS and Generations is because the movie franchise has pumped so much cash and awareness into the TF franchise. Personally I'm about 50/50 on what we've seen so far.

im inclined to agree 100% with that but as theyve said we make up a small percentage of their tf sales.bottom line regardless of how craptastic they are they will sell.im really hoping those weapons dont combine into something awesome cause if they do well be broke.also if they indeed do combine hastak needs to announce it beforehand and follow through.i.e. dont give us another arcee/elita-1/chromia.

Absolutely, especially the follow up ROTF figures like: Seaspray, Bludgeon, Breacher, Terradive and so on. Whether you liked the movie (I hated it) or not, alot of the figures are WICKED! Now these.... eesh. I don't envision Moron Bay making a movie well enough to sell me these.... things.

I'm sure there will be good figures in the DOTM line. All the figures you mentioned didn't actually appear in the movie. The designers have a lot more freedom when they aren't locked into a licensed alt mode.

I didn't really expect the new Optimus to be better than BB Optimus, because BB Optimus is already nearly perfect in my opinion. I'm happy with him, so he basically is the only voyager Prime I need for my movie collection. BB Bumblebee is also very good, but the new figure actually looks better to me (the yellow things on his forearms aren't so big).
But it is hard to build upon perfection when everyone is generally happy, since going in a different direction won't be welcomed by those who are already satified with it one way. Then again, if they do a redeco/retool everyone will be unhappy anyway since they want something different.
So basically we have a lose/lose situation for HasTak.

I don't understand why Battle Blades Optimus Prime couldn't have been modified. Add the gimmicky weapons and clear panels, yet retain the same figure. Like they did with DOTM Bumblebee. A few remolds here and there, but it's basically an uglier version of Battle Blade Bumblebee.
And, as for topping the second film's toys? Leader Prime, if we get one as has been said, they could slim down the torso so he doesn't have a ridiculous backpack and still use his gas tanks as light and sound Mechtech gimmicks. Have it be the same figure as the ROTF version with those mods and it would be as close to a Masterpiece as you could get it, and still have it work with the Mechtech line.
They could easily top the ROTF toyline. We've seen HasTak better themselves with a new line outclassing the previous.
There's no reason why they couldn't here.
EDIT: This Optimus almost reminds me of something we'd see for the TransFormers: Prime toyline that's rumored to be in the works.
