I looked at the G1 Shockwave toy and I started to think about why he was the only one with a single optical sensor. Most of us know why: originally the toy was made by another toy company.
But that doesn't fit into a story, so I thought one up. It takes place in the G1 universe and most of you will see familiar moments we've already seen in the G1 cartoons. My story just has a little twist. It's supposedly written by Shockwave himself, since he's telling the story.
(You should know that I am Dutch and there might be a lot of spelling errors.)
* = Some people might see things they are questioning.
Do not worry, all of them will be revealed.
-------------------------Prelude--------------------------------------
Shockwave's tower; 2005, two hours after Astrotrain landed back on Cybertron after the great war at Autobot city.
"It is the year 2005. We have just witnessed the greatest battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. The Autobots have lost many casualties among their ranks; Ironhide, Brawn, Prowl, Huffer, Ratchet and even Optimus fell for ever because
of Megatron's ruthfulness."
Shockwave enters his headquarters and silently looks around.
"But he wasn't much more better off than Optimus himself. Starscream betrayed him and had him thrown overboard on our way home. We also lost Thundercracker, Skywarp and those annoying insects. But they are expendable."
He looks at a mirror and sees himself.
"I am Shockwave, the eldest* of them all. I should take Megatron's place for he, and those six others*, gave me what I have now. My power."
Outside the Constructicons are making the arrangements for the coronation which will take place in the hall of heroes.
"But I let Starscream take place as the new leader. Only this way the other Decepticons will learn that he isn't our savior once and for all. And when that moment comes, I shall take my place, I shall reach my destiny."
He turns around and looks at what appears to be an old Transformer body. Shockwave's first body*.
"I still have kept you. And I still honor you. Because you are the one who kept on going for so many battles."
