Episode #350 “Oops! All Optimus” is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on Apple Podcasts and many other Podcatcher sites within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
Here's what we discuss in this episode:
- We review the in-hand and spacebridge reveals from the May 14th Pulse Livestream. We give our take on what's hot, what's not, and what we're going to with out Steeljaw armies.
- Something unique is driving our way: Mattel Creations 1/64 Optimus Prime. This Hot Wheels figure is die cast, fully transformable, and very, very expensive.
- TF One is on our minds - while we mull the movie trailer over, TF One product reveals abound, including some revived toys from product-lines past.
- Shizuoka Hobby Show 2024 featured some surprises from Adamas Machina and their AMT line, including a certain Lost Light Rodimus that has our fearless host a-tizzy.
- Skybound's Transformers Issue 8 is out and about, and many of your friendly neighborhood Twincasters have some opinions. What happened to Megatron, anyway? To avoid spoilers, steer clear of 1:16:05 - 1:34:15
- 40 for 40 is back: the year is 2007. Each member of the Twincast explains their favorite Transformers toy from this auspicious year for the brand.
- We wrap up the episode as we always do, with a round of bragging rights.

I agree that we'll see Straxus again. This one has the comic deco with the shading and dots, it really only works in the context of the figures in the Comic Edition line and will look odd with normal figures. Seems like an obvious choice for them to do a "clean" version later.
The prevailing rumor is the fourth box is going to be Xaaron and Flame since the arm and shoulder on Straxus' box is in yellow, orange and red like Flame, apparently made from Gamer Edition WFC Megatron.
That's not how Mattel Creations work! They occasionally do crowdfunds like HasLab, but they're mostly a store that sells their own exclusives in very limited quantities. Some linger, some are gone within an hour. This is not a crowd fund, this is a limited exclusive that ships in June, though more often than not the release date is way off and they actually ship a few days after you order. These are not made to order and more importantly it's very, very rare for them to do second runs. I get all of their He-Man exclusives (a new one launches Wednesday) and have only seen one out of a maybe a done releases get run a second time (Wun-Dar). If you want that figure you'll want to be there when it launches.
We really are in a new era between Hot Wheels Optimus Prime and AMT Rodimus after decades of Hasbro not allowing proper third parties to make figures that actually transform properly (not into pens or hats or whatever). Could we actually see KOs go legit through licensing some day?

Come on guys, read the news on the site you work at! I put a lot of work into those screen caps!
Hey-- I try to keep up- and you guys have been doing a great job. I was just living in Cell-phone land and making an order for new product quickly so they didn't sell out--- I think you had great screen caps, Hasbro Pulse and official product images did not do any favors to selling these new items!
