Just saw the change, too. Not too happy, but at least it looks like it's almost ready. I want my fourth combiner, dangit!

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Re: FansProject Combat Racing Team (not-Stunticons)
I love this toy. This is simply a beautiful Menasor & Motormaster.
I can't imagine anyone else doing a better sculpted job that FP.
I'm puzzled why this gets so many negative rants. I understand the one negative rants but I think it was creative to have the lower legs cars attach to motormasters trailer parts.
I just don't understand why so many fans want these 3rd party combiners to be so extreme oversized. I think deluxe sized for the non-leader teamates & voyager sized for the team leader is big enough. to have everyone be voyagers or ultras is way out of scale.
These FP Stunticons are not tiny. the non-leader teamates are almost deluxe scale,While motormaster is voyager scale.
The Maketoys giant was a more accurate scale than Hercules was. Due to all the teamates in giant being deluxe scale. Also as most know Giant had the more closer 1985 sculpt in all modes.
I simply can't get behind any of TFC's combiners due to them being so extreme overscale.
I can accept MMC predaking being bigger because his 1986 toy was bigger than the other combiners.
Combatron is nice but it's extreme oversized & honestly not needed. As Hasbro created a decent bruticus combiner for the Energon movie toy lines. The FP blastoff & swindle plus parts more than make this decent.

I agree that their Menasor's size is quite nice. I don't need all my combiners to be ultra-huge.

I'm just hoping FP makes more combiners after Menasor is done. I'd like to see FP do a Superion next. then after that maybe do something no other 3rd party company is doing like a Abonimus.
Hopefully if FP does more combiners, they can all scramble city mix & match link up like the TFC combiners can.

TFC teased Abominus with some early sketches a while back when they first started showing teasers for their Computron.
I believe the only combiners no one has teased/talked about doing yet are the Seacons and Monstructor. At least for the US combiners.

I think a 3rd party company should just create a deluxe sized Beast Hunters Hun-Gurr. that could combine with the already made Hasbro BH Legion sized Terrorcons. after all the 1986 Terrorcons abonimus legs & arms bots were legion sized.
While it's great TFC might or might not do Abonimus. I just don't need all my terrorcons to be seven inches tall each. I'd prefer & probably buy a 3rd party Abonimus from either FP or Maketoys because each teamate terrorcon will be deluxe size while Hun-gurr is voyager size.
I suspect 3rd parties will all get to the seascons & monstructor when there done doing the earlier years worth of TF combiners.
these were ugly sculpted toys back in the day,so 3rd parties will have there work cutout for them trying to make them all look less ugly.

Looks great. But until we see a picture of the box to indicate it's shipping soon, I've seen enough.

I think I love this set. Can't wait to have him complete. I'm very happy Intimidator is ever-so-slightly taller than Giant. He should look bloody splendid next to Hercules.
I'm still slightly surprised that Diesel is part of the Causality line. I thought it might be Crossfire or at a pinch Parallax.
Ah well. Whatever. Not long now.

Heres hoping Motormaster can save an otherwise disappointing set. I bought into this set like everybody else. But every time I look at Dead End and Drag Strip, I wish I had other "options" like we do with Predaking. And that damn scout size that Fansproject cant seem to ditch. It's like theyre stuck in a time warp. Even Hasbro ditched the scout scale. If Fanssproject isn't going to use it for characters who are actually supposed to be scout scale, they should ditch it too. But it will be nice to finally add Menasor to the shelf.

Well, let us look at that statement for a moment..
"Scout Scale" is a term that applies to toy lines, and is not used in fiction, so we have to discount show accuracy and assume you are talking about how characters are supposed to be represented in toy form.
I had the Stunticons when I was a kid, and I definitely remember the limb-bots being smaller then Autobot cars, typically represented in "Classics" style lines as Deluxe class figures, but larger then Mini Vehicles, to which the analogue in modern toy lines would be the Legends class.
Hmm... What comes between Deluxe and Legends... Oh, I know! The Scout class!
So go figure. Going by Rated X's demand of characters who are "supposed to be scout scale," Fansproject got it just right.
And given how the gestalt compares in size to the other two combiners I own (Maketoys Giant Type 61 and a Fansproject augmented Bruticus), they also got the scale just right!
So... everybody is happy, we all agree, and it is a holiday miracle that will lead to world piece, right?

The FP Stunticons are not scout sized,They are almost deluxe sized. they are all 1/4 inch shorter than the average Hasbro deluxe. Each FP Stunticon is about Five inches tall. 1.0 deluxe Rodimus is 5 inches & a Quarter inch tall.
I agree with Rated X,All of the original scramble city limbs-bots varied between legends & commander sizes. So having the FP Stunticons limbs bots being around Five inches tall each, gives them all a proper toy scale.
I am simply not a fan of those TFC & Warbotron combiners, all the toys are in extreme oversized scales. I don't need my combiners three to Four toy sizes bigger than the originals were. I can understand the need to go up maybe one size scale bigger. but going up three maybe Four whole size scales bigger is kinda entering the realm of ridiculous.

Hercules is perfectly fine scale-wise. Intimidator isn't going to be much shorter than that.
What, would you rather have a tiny Devastator like the original toy?

The way you quoted me makes it sound like you are rebutting something I said, when in fact I quite like the scale of these figures, myself. I wouldn't really call them one scale or the other, as they are rather between Scout and Deluxe classes... They're in a class of their own, really. I was only calling them "Scouts" in my last post as I was adopting Rated X's (who you said you agreed with?) own terminology in a light hearted attempt at rebutting him.
Although, objectively, lining up some of my own figures...

If I had to choose one of the two classes... it's tough, as they really do fall in between, but I suppose they'd be a bit closer to Scout. (Although Hasbro has confused this a bit with more recent, smaller, Deluxe class toys.)

That being said, I am not at all unhappy with their scale, personally. And I fully agree that the larger scale third party combiners are somewhat ridiculous in size.

For TFC's Devastator, I like to believe that they use mining vehicles instead of standard road-sized construction vehicles. As I work around them on a daily basis, I can confirm that the equipment used in the mining industry is MASSIVE.

That's what I've always believed about them as well, and the bulky proportions of some of the parts on their vehicle modes combined with the tiny, modular looking cabs they all have seems to back that up. They are not normal sized road construction vehicles.

Even so (assuming they're mining vehicles is a nice nuance), what matters most to me is the gestalt scale. And Hercules, Feral Rex, and Intimidator all seem to scale nicely together. Or, at least that's my hope, since those are the three I own (well, between waiting for 5 members between Intimidator & Feral Rex, I guess I own a combined 2 gestalts

Can't say much about Uranos... though if those legs were slightly shorter, he'd probably scale perfectly with Herc.
