Finished Duke dome, AKA the hive. oddly, I wasn't overly disturbed by this since I remembered a similar bit existed in DN3D. After putting down the queen, got a bonus level at Duke's pleasure palace (real location name not able to be mentioned in polite company).

Not just a level of Duke3D, but areas all over the entire game. The Hive was the "crap just got real" moment that showed just what the invaders want to do with the captured humans. Remember, they don't just abduct people for kicks; they want to breed an army.

I don't think the imagery was the problem, the problem is that they tried to make it funny. Most people found that incredibly tasteless.

I hear ya. That whole section could have done without the attempts at humour, entirely. Would've added to the "crap just got real"-ness.

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy:
Finally beat the weaker Feral Chaos, and while I am overjoyed to be past him (As well as unlocking a Gilgamesh-centric report) it does fill me with a sense of dread: I struggled to beat him, using a mix of luck, carefully planned tricks, and trial-and-error, and I only barely beat him while he was only at half strength. I am not looking forward to fighting the real deal (Which will unlock Feral Chaos as a player character) without some serious Batman-style preparation.

In other news, I maxed out Yuna, Tifa, Prishe, and Gilgamesh, as well as, of course, the characters from the first game. (Who, because of being imported, were at level 100 basically the whole time)

Duke Nuken Forever:
Just started DNF. The opening is fantastic. The game open with you pissing in a urinal. It's a fitting opening to what I think will be a classic Duke game.

Every review I've read claims that no, it's not.

God of War:
If I want over-the-top violence and female nudity, Kratos always delivers. I got some spendin' money so I dished out the $30 for the God of War HD Collection. GoW1 is a game I've been meaning to revisit for years (being in HD is a plus) and I haven't played GoW2 or 3 yet, and I might pick up 3 this weekend.

Just got to Pandora's Temple, this is going a lot faster than I remembered...

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy:
Mastered Kain, now I'm working on Lightning. I didn't care for her game, but I still liked her as a character.

It's a fun Duke game, though, that's for sure. Much of the Duke attitude is there, hidden behind overdone newschool gaming conventions.

Duke Nukem Forever [PC]:
Finished my first playthrough, got about 92% of the Achievements. I figure I'll try to get them all and max out my multiplayer character, too.

Final boss fight was not anti-climactic, but the final cutscene was. Hell, even the bonus after-the-credits scene was.

Beyond Good and Evil:
I often criticize anyone who says they've never played Psychonauts, jokingly, of course, claiming that not playing it contributed to such a great game selling so poorly. I am, however, a massive hypocrite because it took me this long to get Beyond Good and Evil, a critically beloved game that suffered from poor marketing and sales.

Owning up to my mistakes, I think, makes me a better person.

I'm not very far into the game, I've only had a little time to play. Right now, a client wants me to get a picture of a rare type of worm, specifically both a male and a female in the same shot. Worms being asexual does not seem to be a factor, but work's work and I can't complain.

God of War:
BEATEN! Again. Ares is dead, and Kratos is the God of War.

God of War II:
For about ten minutes. Zeus did not care for Kratos being a douche, and let's be honest, Kratos is a douche even by Olympian standards. And while I think Kratos more-or-less got what he deserves, killing an entire Pantheon of Gods is an achievement worth bragging about, so hey, count me in you pale shirtless douche.

I got Beyond Good and Evil from GOG.com and was anticipating playing it, but man, did Ubisoft botch it. The PC version reeks of lazy unoptimized console port and there is no way to invert the mouse Y-axis, making it literally unplayable for folks like me. And because it uses DirectInput, mouse-flip workarounds don't work. Needless to say, I wasn't able to get far into it, but what I did see was nothing more than an overly-cute animal-filled fantasy world with dull combat system and heavy with post-9/11 socio-political commentary.

I wanted to enjoy it, but I really can't. This is just another example of why I avoid things that have the Ubisoft logo on the box.

When did you get it? It's a game that came out back in the gamecube days so some things don't hold up as well. But at the time it was surprisingly good. I had it way back when. To this day I still rate 'CHILI CON CARNE!' as one of my favorite catchphrases.

They can't port a game to PC worth a damn, but they are responsible for Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, the Scott Pilgrim game, etc.

Exactly. So which athlete will be on the cover of this year's Asscreed?

Lunia [PC]:
I meant to be productive yesterday, but there's a summer event going on, so I gained about 12 levels with my pink-haired pyrokinetic ex-pirate who fights with swords attached to the ends of chains.

Borderlands [PC]:
Started a new game with a buddy from Poland. Using Roland because Versatility.

For a god long time, I wasn't sure if I could run Just Cause 2.

Just Cause 2:
Turns out I can. Not perfectly, but I managed to get everything within acceptable FPS.

my progress is...er...um...kaboom? Kaboom, I think. I blew **** up. And I'm working with criminal gangs to destabilize the local government in some Southeast Asian island.

Also, it was on sale at just the right price that I had enough birthday money left over for all of the DLC. So hooray, I get a fancy new revolver for Rico.

Does the revolver actually have a functional grenade launcher, or is that just for show/badassitude?

With Rico, anything is classified as bad-assitude.

Eternal Darkness
Cleared MIchael's chapter, reclaiming the essence of Cha'turgha as well as an enchanted Gladius. Passed this down to the Present Where Alex is now working towards the final battle.

Duke Nukem Forever
Currently on top of Duke burger fighting off waves of baddies.

It's kinda like the revolvers in Borderlands, it's just there to make the gun look bigger. or to weigh it down to reduce recoil. Probably both, but no one's ever told me either way.

That game is awesome. My sister likes it more than me though. I was done with the game a while ago, as in bored with it; but she plays it all the time and I start playing it again...and she's 12.

Red Faction Guerrilla

Got the game for my birthday last week, and God is it boring. I loved the demo, and could play it all day long! But I got the game and I can't go on any further. It's the same mission every time and I get tired of blowing **** up after a while (Yes, even I.) I could have gotten LA Noire for my birthday. :-( Such a dumbass. (DOTM reference.)

Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts DLC

I haven't played Dead Money; nore do I want to, but I downloaded Honest Hearts yesterday and beat it in a few hours. Awesome DLC is awesome. It was the first time I ever played a Fallout DLC. I can't wait for the next one on the 19th!

God of War II:
Invaded the Temple of the Sisters of Fate. I thought they'd put up a fight, but Lahkesis, the middle Sister, is more or less helping Kratos through. Nice of her. I also killed Perseus from the original Clash of the Titans (Same outfit, equipment, and actor) and helped revive a Phoenix.

GAME.OVER! Using a couple of trinkets and city-size circle of power, did what Pious needed 2000 years to do and summoned an Ancient to battle his own. My monster whooped his and I took him down in hand-to-hand combat. All's well.... except my monster is now a world-destroying human-enslaving monster to be feared. My bad.
Luckily, Grandpa's ghost flipped the summon spell to a bind spell, sending the monster back into captivity. world is saved.
Not planning to do a 2nd or 3rd playthrough. Did that ages ago and just wanted to retry it.

Okay, now to either move on to Metroid prime 3 replay or Banjo-kazooie.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Just Cause 2:
BEATEN! Stopped a massive war between the major superpower nations by nuking one of the four nuclear missiles I was riding/fighting on to blow up Panau's oil field--CRAP I forgot to take screencaps!

God of War II:
BEATEN! Kratos fails to kill Zeus, instead kills Athena, then collects the Titans to wage war on Olympus.

Finally got a chance to get back to this. Upped myself to level 10 as both racer and officer.

Minecraft
Finished off my latest project. But before we get to the details, let's see the process.

To start, a simple wall of wool to begin the framework.
Image

This originally started off as a pixel art project, as you can see.

Finally, decided to go for a full 3-d representation of my current avatar, seen looking up at his likeness.
Image

inside is nothing special, just a lader to the viewing areas in the arms and head.
Image

Let's see what my new masterpiece sees. Hmm... he sees my tower. Forever watching over me, protecting me, and... watching me in the shower?
Image

I think I prefer the view from the arms of my previous project.
Image

Did not realize how hard wool dyes were to collect until I started this project. My current projects aren't quite so impressive. Created a pyramidal crater which I plan to turn into a lake just to see if I can.

Batman Returns [SNES]

Watched Batman Returns last night on AMC; I hadn't seen it since its release in '92. While it's not as good as Tim Burton's first Batman film, the video game based on it is actually superb! Batman has some pretty cool moves in this game including grabbing enemies and butting their heads together.

I managed to beat the game on Normal mode, but you get a short ending and a message "Now challenge Hard Mode". So that's my plan for today; it may take a couple of tries as this game is fairly challenging.
