Finished Duke dome, AKA the hive. oddly, I wasn't overly disturbed by this since I remembered a similar bit existed in DN3D. After putting down the queen, got a bonus level at Duke's pleasure palace (real location name not able to be mentioned in polite company).
Not just a level of Duke3D, but areas all over the entire game. The Hive was the "crap just got real" moment that showed just what the invaders want to do with the captured humans. Remember, they don't just abduct people for kicks; they want to breed an army.

I don't think the imagery was the problem, the problem is that they tried to make it funny. Most people found that incredibly tasteless.

Just started DNF. The opening is fantastic. The game open with you pissing in a urinal. It's a fitting opening to what I think will be a classic Duke game.

Every review I've read claims that no, it's not.

I often criticize anyone who says they've never played Psychonauts, jokingly, of course, claiming that not playing it contributed to such a great game selling so poorly. I am, however, a massive hypocrite because it took me this long to get Beyond Good and Evil, a critically beloved game that suffered from poor marketing and sales.
Owning up to my mistakes, I think, makes me a better person.
I'm not very far into the game, I've only had a little time to play. Right now, a client wants me to get a picture of a rare type of worm, specifically both a male and a female in the same shot. Worms being asexual does not seem to be a factor, but work's work and I can't complain.

I got Beyond Good and Evil from GOG.com and was anticipating playing it, but man, did Ubisoft botch it. The PC version reeks of lazy unoptimized console port and there is no way to invert the mouse Y-axis, making it literally unplayable for folks like me. And because it uses DirectInput, mouse-flip workarounds don't work. Needless to say, I wasn't able to get far into it, but what I did see was nothing more than an overly-cute animal-filled fantasy world with dull combat system and heavy with post-9/11 socio-political commentary.
I wanted to enjoy it, but I really can't. This is just another example of why I avoid things that have the Ubisoft logo on the box.

The guy from Poland should be Roland, just so everyone can groan.

Just Cause 2:
Turns out I can. Not perfectly, but I managed to get everything within acceptable FPS.
my progress is...er...um...kaboom? Kaboom, I think. I blew **** up. And I'm working with criminal gangs to destabilize the local government in some Southeast Asian island.
Also, it was on sale at just the right price that I had enough birthday money left over for all of the DLC. So hooray, I get a fancy new revolver for Rico.

Does the revolver actually have a functional grenade launcher, or is that just for show/badassitude?
