So much love, here. SO much. The little touches, the involvement of the original cast, and the fact that it's written by Dan and Harold MAKE this game. Little things like Onionhead using one of Venkman's ESP cards, Louis' helmet on the table where you start, the "Happy Birthday" banner in the background, the Ghostbusters II logo in the back of the office, the guy in the hotel lobby asking if you're a cosmonaut...

Unf. Just... just unf.

But, the PC version is held back by lack of the multiplayer mode and the combination of mouse acceleration, deceleration, and smoothing. Playing it is a pain in the ass.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. A TON of things from the movies show up. Viggo is sitting in the office. He'll brag and threaten you if you talk to him. Like everyone else, he retains his actor from the movies. (The Librarian Ghost is a major plot element in one level)

Goddamn I wish they would re-release Ecto Cooler Hi-C.

I played through about half of the game with a friend in the Wiiiiiii version's co-op mode (I was playing as the chick but Venkman never hit on me, by the way), but I didn't see nearly as many of these little touches. I guess they only really stand out in the high-res version.

And I forgot to mention Viggo in the ground floor. I took a screenshot of that glorious bastard. And the phone messages are great, too. "Is it safe to eat the marshmallow stuff that's all over my balcony? And as a follow-up, what should I do if I already ate it?"

The servers are still acting wonky. And people are still bitching that it's because it's SOE, not because, you know, you can't magically push a button and suddenly allow your servers to prepare for an influx of 120,000 new users all trying to access the game at once. No, that can't be the reason, it must be because "soe is teh failz lol"

Gamers are really Goddamn stupid sometimes.

In any case, I managed to get on long enough to make a second hero, the unf-tacular ]Lady Awesome. She can fly and shoot laser beams out of her hands. So yeah.

Metroid Fusion
Destroyed the Nightmare and re-earned the Gravity suit. I question the name nightmare though. It doesn't look like anything out of my nightmares. What do my nightmares look like? If this doesn't look like my nightmares, you can only imagine my nightmares, though I'd rather you not as as they are quite embarrassing.

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Tracked down the Ghost ship, defeated the ghosts who haunted it, and rescued Tetra. yay!
But she's a statue at the moment. Boo...

It's called Nightmare because that's the point where the bosses became damn nightmares to fight. Hated the late-game bosses in Fusion. Total hair-ripping moments.

DC Universe Online:
In brightest day, in blackest night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let all who worship evil's might
Beware my power, Green Lantern's Light!

Got the Green Lantern DLC, which gives me not only swank-ass Green Lantern (Or Sinestro Corps for the villains) powers. Also it upgrades me to premium membership, which is cool, but not all that different from being a free user.

The Light powers are sweet, though. They're a mix-and-match of a bunch of other powers, which makes them very useful for a wide-variety of situations. My first (Who I haven't used much since he's meant for a group with one member who hasn't played much) is GL Melvin, who I gave a fruity mustache, and his starting ability to make giant glowing green boxing gloves.

Meanwhile, my sexy red-spandex-wearing laser-hand-using Superhero girl Lady Awesome hit level 19 a moment ago. (And that is an old image) Taken down a plethora of villains; Scarecrow, Gorilla Grodd, Giganta, Trigon, Harley Quinn, Queen Bee, Bane, the list goes on.

I don't know, man, that last battle before activating the countdown literally broke down like this:
 1. Stand on ground in middle of room where boss fights in its first form.
 2. Hold down your "charge Ice Missiles" button.
 3. Stand next to boss, shoot Ice Missile.
 4. Keep charging Missiles while flipping over boss and landing on her opposite side.
 5. Fire another Missile, keep charging, jump over her again.
 6. Repeat until its second form, which isn't hard, either.
 7. ???
 8. Feel bad for paying for Metroid Fusion and hope to your uzi-wielding man-eating baby-selling velociraptor god that this crap is not canon.

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus [GameCube]:
Okay, so I now realize that the whole "go find Red Ring Rico" (that sure sounds like a porn name) mission isn't something that goes into your quest log but rather a story-based reason for you going planetside at all.

Doing the Hunters' Guild quests in order; finished up to the one with the undercover reporter dressed as a slutty civilian. That won't bring her attention at all. Got my Mag to Level 9 or 10 (now it's two Mags floating over my shoulders) and has its beam attack, but it's never used it yet. Also found some better gear, including a suit of Armour with 2 slots and I bought a big-ass Rifle +2 that I upgraded to +3. Thing's longer than my RAmarl is tall, with a scope bigger than her forearm. Digging the range on this thing. It also has a glowing tube at the bottom that reminds of the ASMD Shock Rifle from Unreal Tournament 1.

Speaking of UT...

Unreal Tournament 3: Black Edition [PC]:
Alright, had my fix. Finished a co-op campaign, dicked around online, with mods, botmached, etc. Got 61% of the Achievements. Uninstalled because I need that delicious hard drive space.

Saints Row 2 [PC]:
Ready to Strap It On come the 15th? My body is ready, but I don't know if this laptop is. Wrapping up a second co-op campaign with a friend. That's how much we love this game. After finishing it, we rolled up some new characters and started again. Can't wait for The Third.

Anyway, we finished off the Ronin and the Samedi, once again leaving the Brotherhood for last. Just finished the Bank Error In Your Favour mission and did the Escort Activity in Chinatown to Level 5 to unlock the free vehicle delivery service. Now I need to clean out my freakin' Garage.

The final boss wasn't so bad, but everything before it was horrendous. Bosses that could take out an entire energy tank in only a couple of shots. Whoever designed those bosses was out of his damn mind.

DC Universe Online:
I didn't use to hate the Sinestro Corps. I didn't exactly love them, I was more neutral, if anything. Now? Now if I had the chance, yes, I'd probably strangle Sinestro to death. oh well, off to do other stuff, level-up, then fight that balding pink-skinned son of a bitch again.

Well, Lady Awesome is now level 21. I also changed her color scheme to be purple instead of red. (Matches her laser-hands better, I don't get to pick their color)

From what I'm seeing, it's that same way throughout the Game. Serris moved wicked fast (which makes sense given the speed booster) but nearly impossible to fight head on. I resorted to hiding in a corner and firing when he passed.

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Learning to hate the ocean king's temple now. Took forever just to find the 3rd sea chart and I managed to run out of time, surviving only through potions. Would normally accept this but whoever designed the temple's puzzles to reset on re-entry is a complete and total <expletive deleted>

Metroid Fusion
Nearing endgame. After the nightmare battle, tracked down the B.O.X. and took it out to get the wave beam. Found a secret metroid breeding facility. Samus, being part metroid, takes offense to this unfair treatment of her people and decides to blow stuff up. Luckily, an SA-X took care of that for me.
On the way, found an X-ridley and got the Screw attack from it. Talked the computer into believing it's someone it's not but who agrees with me and it agreed we should blow stuff up as a show of Metroid solidarity. Made it to the control area but got attacked by another SA-X.

After the pain of some of the earlier bosses, BOX and Ridley weren't all that hard. The only one that had me pulling my hair out was the Yakuza (spider boss)

Ghostbusters [PC]:
Cleaned out the Hotel. Now to mop up these mean streets.
Damn, the mouse acceleration/deceleration/smoothing is awful.

Saints Row 2 [PC]:
Crashed Matt's concert in an attempt to find out about the Shipment. Ultor's got a deal with the Brotherhood now, eh? Only logical course of action: shut 'em both down.

Phantasy Star Universe [PC]:
And the dubious crown for "Worst PC Port I've Ever Played" is shared by Resident Evil 4 and PSU, neither of which support the mouse without community-made mods/tools. Congrats, you two. At least you've learned and RE5 and PSO2 were improved.

It's remarkable how little the gameplay has changed in the 5 years between PSO and PSU (ie: how stale PSU feels). Still no decent way to control the camera? Really? And what's with the lack of mouse support? And the awful controls? If you're using the default control scheme and want to shoot an enemy, you'd have to move with the WASD keys, hold the Left Arrow to lock onto/strafe around the target, hold the Up Arrow to ready your gun and tap the Down Arrow to fire. Needless to say, take the time to redefine your controls. Which is a pain, since you can only change the mappings from the Options window of the launcher. #-o

But I'm off-topic. Just went to the Guardians' office, got my mission, on my way to the docking bay. Maybe I should do some shopping first.

It's not that she was angry at Metroid mistreatment, it's that they were breeding Metroids, a species of psychotic parasites that she has spent a great deal of time eradicating. It's like she spent three other games preventing the Space Pirates from breeding and obtaining Metroid, only for the Federation to start doing it right behind her.

Got myself Space Marine for my 360... and beat it in a week of play on normal.

I know Shooters are hardly as lengthy to play as RPGs... but the campaign felt surprisingly short. And it really feels like that's the way it is with shooters, I know multiplayer is why you tend to buy them, but I was hoping for a little more.

I figured that my statements would have been taken in less sincerity. Oh well, still funny.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
After running missions for an undercover-cop, moved on with the story missions. Had to infiltrate gang territory and shut down a satellite that was blocking my boss's signals and keeping us hacked. Snuck in, killed no one, and shut it down. From there, was transported to an underground bunker and found an internment camp being run apparently by the government and being led by the people who attacked my job in the prologue and left me as half-a-toaster. got into a boss battle with one of them and killed him before returning to the HQ. Now being sent to China to investigate a lead.

Um... boss battle? In a game that rewards you for being stealthy and not killing, you throw in a boss battle against an overly armed cyborg? Makes me feel kinda foolish using a stungun against a guy with a chaingun arm. :-?

You never asked for that.

The funniest part was the implausible cyberpunk Montreal. As a fellow Montrealer, I completely understand their desire to give a shout-out to our town, but really? The Olympic Stadium's nowhere near downtown and we're still paying off the last Olympics... Even if there were more Olympics in Montreal, it would make no sense to build the stadium on the slopes of Mount Royal, even if it would offer a great view of downtown. Glad to see 1000 de la Gauchetière and McGill are still around in the future.

According to the Devs, Human Revolution rewards you for just about everything. That said, Penny Arcade did a comic about this exact situation.

DC Universe Online:
This is the only MMO I have played this long. No, Exteel, you know how much I loved you but you were an MMO the same way Halo is an MMO: Not one. My sexbomb main is level 27, nearly at the level cap. Meanwhile, I created a villain, Reginald Crimington. He has super speed, and some kind of super cane. And he is super fancy. I wanted to call him "Reginald Crimingtone III" or "Sir Reginald Crimington" or some combination of the two, but there's a character limit.

The truth hurts...

Metroid Fusion
GAME.OVER!
Defeated the SA-X in one-on-one combat, then it's mutated form, then it's core form. yeah, Samus is bad ss. Then went up against against an Omega Metroid. Not so badass anymore. but then the Sa-X came over, got itself killed, I ate it, and guess what? Badass again!

Good game. Glad I finally got a chance to play it. Makes me want to play Other M again since I now have an appreciation where some of the monster designs in that game came from. kinda embarrassed by my totals though. only 47% collected? I thought I was doing a lot better than that.

Saints Row 2 [PC]:
Dropped Michael Dorn's character, somehow. My buddy and I are doing some housecleaning now. Cleaning out Garages of stored vehicles we aren't going to use, finishing up some customization, stuff like that. Then, it's off to the Ultor missions to bring this bitch home in time for the 15th. Strap it on, fellas.

Ghostbusters [PC]:
So... Much... Fanservice... I haven't seen this much fanservice in one work that didn't involve copious amounts of exposed female skin and physics/gravity. And man, I am not complaining. I am having so damn much fun with this.

Not just the fanservice, either, but there are tons of little gags. For example, when Winston's looking at the microfilm in the library, one of the stories' headline reads something along the lines of "Rubber Band Battle Ends In Tragedy," or something along those lines.

Story-wise, finished at the Sedgewick Hotel, dropped the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, met with Mr. Dickless himself, and now I'm working my way through the library. Doesn't a big-ass rift happen here, or something? Memory fails me and I can't wait to find out again.

Phantasy Star Universe [PC]:
A few planets is hardly a universe. Especially when they're populated by unlikable characters who are nothing more than generic clichéd animu tropes. Hoping PSO2 is cooler. Also, character creation breast sliders. Ah, Japan...

Right. Progress. On the training planet, just watched some Seed crash near the Farm.

Started and cleared the temple on the Goron island and got my first pure metals. Currently on an ice-covered land having just smoked out a Yook.
Done some treasure hunting and my ship is only 2 parts short of a demon theme.

DC Universe Online:
Lady Awesome has finally hit level 30...then promptly got her ass beaten by most of the end-game raids. Some were easy enough (The Daily Planet raid was tough, until the first boss, during after which it was smooth sailing) others I couldn't even get a shot off before going down. (The Batcave has REALLY good defenses)

Since then, I've mostly been playing as Green Lantern Melvin, helping my various friends level up so they can one day help me.

Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II Plus [GameCube]:
Finished the Fake In Yellow but couldn't find the character that unlocks the GBA station. Not that I have a GBA anymore, but still. Hey, does the 'Cube's link feature work with the DS?

Failed the "scan 5 creature types in 20 minutes" quest, twice. Didn't move fast enough the first time and the second, I didn't venture deep enough into Forest 2.

Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst [PC]:
Playing on the SCHTHACK Private Server. A worse PC port than PSU, that's for sure. You can't even remap your controls and the mouse does nothing, other than scrolling through menus with the scroll wheel and LMB.

The mission selection is way different than regular-ass PSO, so I have no idea how to get the low-level missions I need to start levelling up before progressing the story.

Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 [PC]:
This one has Offline Mode, unlike Blue Burst, but it lacks a lot of the content and damn, it's a worse port, too. Promptly uninstalled.

Duke Nukem Forever [PC]:
In the Hive, working on my Damn, I'm Good run. I'm not fond of having to play Duke Nukem tactically.

Saints Row 2 [PC]:
Another Co-Op campaign complete. Bring on The Third. (And by "bring on," I mean "someone gift it to me on Steam.")

I won't uninstall it just yet since I want to make some more videos with game footage.

Borderlands [PC]:
Finished every mission in the Armour other than defeat Crawmerax, obviously. I'll come back once I've levelled up enough and have better gear.

In the Robolucion world now. Bringing 75 spare parts to Delicious Pattie and just turned on the power plant, which is conveniently located in the heart of a freakin' maze-like cavern.

That cave is a killer. It doesn't even make any sense half the time. Its most notable feature is that part of it forms a giant question mark.

Didn't they bring back fast-travel? I used that almost exclusively in Oblivion and New Vegas. Hell, by the end of both games I barely did any walking, I had so many markers set up.

I saw that and thought, "how fitting."
