Anyone know anything about this company? I LOOOOOVE the way these guys look and love the combining idea. I'm also a fan of how awesome they look WITHOUT combining, which so many combiners have suffered for in the past...

However, this is a lot of money to drop on a whim... Do we know anything about their quality? When the full set is to be finished? I'd hate to spend $400 and have them disappear before finishing the set. Bad enough I'm still an Aeriobot short right now... but at least I know for sure that one is coming out!

I've never bought 3rd party before... a little nervous. I've seen a few websites that SELL these guys, but nothing with any info on the company themselves...

i have the first dino of the set, thunderous/sludge, it is good quality in terms of plastic and superb quality in terms of paint and is also very big. I don't know a release date for anything beyond the second dino, snarl, which is slated for july. They have, however, shown cg renderings of all of the dinos and prototypes of all except slag and swoop. This fact, the quality of the product i own, and the fact that the snarl preorder is sold out on bbts makes me think the company has a good chance of finishing the set and when it is done it will be huge and of good quality.

If they made Grimlock the same scale as the other four, I would have gone all in. But the unnecessary combiner mode ruined everything. They should have just gone with real dinosaur scale and made Sludge the torso. And oversized t-rex is stupid. It was stupid in the AOE toy line and its stupid here.

If the limbs had been as big as MP Grimlock, they might have made it into my collection as my CHUG Dinobots. That's where my MP Grimlock is now.

If this Grimmy was smaller, like the other 4, again, they would have been contenders for my CHUG collection.

With the dinobots in different sizes for the sake of combining, it is a whole lot of scratch for something I don't need.

I *am* still waiting to see their take on Swoop. I'm not 100% happy with FP or PX, so I'm open to another option.

Fansprojects Grimlock will probably be just the right size, even if you're unhappy with the rest of FP's Dinos.

I have to admit, it's shocking to see this be larger than MP Grimlock.

Honestly the scale doesn't seem THAT bad to me... Though everyone has their own definition of what Scale actually means.

When I started this collection a couple months ago, I had an idea too of what I'd hoped for in scale... but the Transformer franchise is much messier then I remember.

In the cartoon the Dinobots were bigger... but not always... in the movies they are silly huge... in the marvel comics (my FAVORITE Dinobots) I remember them being 'normal' sized...

The dinos were never even in scale with each other... Sludge should be about 3-5 times the size of ANY of them...

To make things worse, the whole motorcycles and spaceships all becoming limbs to combiners and it falls apart..

To me, Grimlock CAN be bigger then the other Dinobots. Not Ultra-out-of-this-world bigger... but as the 'leader' and the 'toughest' of them this size difference doesn't strike me any worse then Skydive and Silverbolt and is better then say, MP10 Prime and masterpiece Prowl... I just think of new grimlock as 'leader' grimlock.

As for 'unnecessary combining'... Honestly I LOVE this idea. I can understand people who DON'T... but at this point in the franchise, I say go for it. Personally, the idea of Prime who's stats were 10 all the way across has no business being a combiner. Cyclonus wasn't interesting enough to be a combiner, and the list goes on... But since those mini-con cartoons started the idea of Prime combines with anyone... What the heck. Tradition is a dying thing, and what is cooler then the idea of Dinosaurs combining into a GIANT Robot :michaelbay:

While I agree that the combing gimmick can be cool for the Dinobots, there are a lot of dinobot teams coming out in the 3P space. That feature works for this group, helping to set it apart. Especially by making it a GINORMOUS combiner.

But it is also an expensive thing. Unless the combining gimmick is something you specifically want, there are probably sets that meet your needs better.

Had they modified the sizes a bit, their set would have allowed for more options for more collectors.

Yeah, I wish it was cheaper... This kind of price range is VERY out of my comfort zone...

But, It seems it's fairly competitive with the rest of the 3p dinos... I haven't seen any online or Ebay for less then $120... so yeah, For $114 AND Combinable? Yeah... had to pull the trigger on that...

That said, having found a way to justify the $114... if they jack the prices on the other three I'll be INCREDIBLY annoyed.

LOVE it!

Broke down an ordered Thunderous, and really enjoy him. Couple little things I'm not too sure about.

1) His Dino eyes red/orange on the gold/bronze.. are REALLY hard for me to pick out. Not sure if that's a colorblind thing or that way for everyone... and Have no recollection if that's how the original was.

Just from a few steps back it looks like he has no eyes

2) The big feet cannons don't integrate ENOUGH... They were SOOOO close, but JUST missed it. When you separate the two cannons, they plug into his sides nicely, but that big square plug that that makes the ankle (and some other square block that's in there for filler or something) are still loose... So instead of having a giant foot with no place to store till the rest show up... I have two giant cannons on the dino, and two smaller, easier to lose pieces set out... So I'm opting for the Giant Foot... Much as I love the cannons I don't trust myself to keep track of the pieces till... whenever.

Which brings up the only other complaint I have. He's just... so very, very LONELY :sad:

REALLY looking forward to the rest of his dino-buddies crawling out of the Tar pit!!!

No, because the combiner foot forms a pair of sod-off huge cannons for robot and dino mode, unlike the ToyWorld version where the feet do f!ck all. Although with the flat bottom (with toes!) the leg itself forms, the necessity of said foot is questionable.
