May I ask why you decided not to buy any UT molds? Fear of mold degradation?

Well, it extends beyond the Unicron Trilogy. I don't really collect anything that's pre-Classics.

That's mainly because I need to limit myself somewhere, and I don't want to get a few figures into an older line and spontaneously decide to be a completionist. The hobby's expensive enough as it is. Plus, I was never particularly fond of the Unicron Trilogy; it ranks pretty low on my list (that's just me, though - I know you rank it highly).

However, I do own the Welcome to 2010 Dominator Unicron & Creator Primus, and the Amazon Unicron. That's about it though.

Fair enough. The YotS Omega Supreme does look pretty good though, especially with the MakeToys upgrade set.

LOL, SOUNDWAVE LOOKS LIKE A KO as well as the Cassettes and a fan (Tried) to hand paint them with a crappy brush or something....

I've handled a bunch of Unicron Trilogy molds. Hell, Energon Starscream & Tidal Wave were my gateway back inoo collecting way back when. But I've never handled the G2 Laser Prime mold, and I'm curious.

Lemme let you in on a secret:
It's amazing!

I dunno how that special edition will be so I can't judge. But I can tell you about G2 Optimus and RID Scourge. Both are articulated as mad. Optimus have the light-up gimmick. Scourge innexplicably don't have the lights, but he does have amazing colors. For both, the trailer is cool and a lot of fun. You can't go wrong with the G2 Lazer OP mold.

It's awesome. The articulation was way ahead of its time, both in terms of Transformers as well as action figures in general and the accessories are really cool. Transformation and detailing is a little dated these days, but it's still pretty good.

That has got to be the funniest thing that's been posted in this forum of the entire week.

I have yet to experience the awesomeness of G2 Prime, although from what I've heard his legs have a nasty habit of refusing to stay extended, leaving him constantly collapsing into Midgetimus Prime.

Telescoping legs are a pet peeve of mine. However, G2 Laser Prime's and its repaint Black Convoy have yet to have problems with that. It's more the loose ratchets in the hips that's a constant, as well as the shoulders drooping with age.

The Laser Prime mold being dug up here renews my likely to never be realized hope that Toxitron could still happen some day.

Probably only the G2 mold would be exciting to me. We already got the Animated version, so it's not the "character" I'm desiring at this point, it's the fact that the colors + the G2 mold look super cool to me.

Add also the fact that G2 OP is a hefty voyager size. Almost an ultra class. Having the mold twice already (OP and Scourge) I don't think I'd ever buy a Toxitron... Unless the paint aps and possible remolds are mind-blowing. I'd see that as an exclusive of some sort.

If he ever sees the light of day, I'm hoping they put the electronics back in, but replace the red LED with a nice, radioactive-looking shade of green.

Soundwave just doesn't look good this way.

The cassettes would be cool, but in clear plastic, humm... can you say breakage ??

I see this kind of like soundblaster: people who do buy it will be doing so mostly for Ravage, because lets be honest, it makes a good "stealth" ravage.

Granted, that color scheme is ugly as hell. Also, I see no use to owning that because I already own the Hasbro MP Soundwave set.

However, I'm still very happy with this set.
