Best of the 80's is a shelf filler here. It's M.A.S.S. part 3&4 that are unseen. 1&2 are still common.
Editor wrote:My Bad. I was thinking of the Greatest Battles DVD set Not the Best of the 80's. Sorry bout that.

This disc was released bundled with the Greatest Battles pack, which included Cobra Commander (v40), Duke (v31), Snake Eyes (v39), and Storm Shadow (v29).
The disc contains an abbreviated battle scene from Valor vs. Venom, an abbreviated battle scene from Spy Troops, the entire Ninja Battles program, and bios for G.I. Joe and Cobra characters.

Sounds pretty fail. And the figures look lame, too. Well, maybe when they go on überclearance, I might pick it up for custom fodder, or for trading.

I love how the package fails on all levels by showing images of all the characters in completely different outfits than the figures wear in the set.
Editor wrote:The figures look fine enough. it is simply that all 4 of them are showcased on the packaging and not one of the images looks a thing like the actual figures.

Plus, they're the VvV designs, and they either look bad or redundant. Grey Snake-Eyes v3, hurray.

The Cobra Comander, which is a better repaint of the version from the Tripwire comic pack, is definatly the best of the set and realy the only one woth picking up unless you have a thing for SE and/or SS
shortround wrote:I have to say the best dvd pack I have gotten as of late is 5th dvd entertainment pack. Because it comes with all my favorite g.i. joe episode from the different seasons of the show. But as far as the greatest battle set goes my friend picked it up and was very unhappy with the set over all. He said it lacked the polish of the other dvd entertainment packs that had come out and the dvd was a joke.
Editor wrote:If they wanted to thank fans there is a number of better things they could have done than that pack.
More Resolute (Destro, Baroness, Scarlet, Deceased Bazooka, Deceased Major Bludd, now that's a pack)![]()
More Tiger Force/Python Patrol
Ninja Force
Slaughter's Marauders
MASK vs VENOM
There is a ton of better packs they could have done than that donkey of a shelf warmer. It seems more of a cop out than anything else.
Editor wrote:Understood, I know that those aren't every ones favorites but some people do like them.
Beyond that, Has Hasbro said anything about possible release dates for the Cobra Island 7-packs? I know that the movie stuff should be on shelves in the next few weeks, but I haven't heard anything for those.

I would prefer some Nightforce repaints and vehicles.
