Grabbed all the Walmart comic exclusive two-packs today. THankful, because I loves me some Nightforce versions of figures.

Shockwave, and Tunnel Rat are excellent. Gung Ho's head is bad (neck connection is very odd looking, but the sculpt is good. Nightcreeper is cool, but Copperhead is, odd.

They come with comics? Gung Ho is probably using the same head/torso as he did in the 5-pack. Nice score.

Sorry, sorry, no, I was thinking they were like the SW two-packs, but no they don;t. Just two repainted figures.

Monkey Wrench is okay. Too much of a straight up Outback repaint with an EEl harpoon gun.

Well over the weekend I ordered the Kmart 4 pack and a set of the three Wal-Mart double packs. Hopefully they'll be here sometime this week. The series set should be here by today since I paid for the extra fast shipping. I haven't had a chance to really take them out of box but I gotta say I think in the defense of Cobra set they should've taken Dr. Mindbender out and put a SAW Viper in, made it all troop builder.

Indeed, but now we can create Arctic Mindbender, or Aquatic Mindbender, if we choose to buy multiple sets.

Grabbed the MANTIS thing with the sweet black and red Lamprey repaint. Awesome repaint!!!!

That might have made that one guy on Joecanuck.com happy seeing he bought 20 packs to troop build and was selling off the Mindbenders.

As it is, I can guarantee that he'll be the first figure being worked on once my packs show up this week.

Then again it is Dr. Mindbender and he was requested for quite awhile. By the by since I was just thinking about it, To complete the set of the original 13 25th Joes, you need to buy that Target set from last year with the Mobat in it right?

I only saw one in my Target. It was misstocked or purposely placed in the RV car section. Package was opened and appeared to be picked over so I didn't buy it. I assume by now the secondary market prices are astronomical.

13 original Joes, 13 original Transformers, that number pops up a bit.

Very Biblical. Don't forget Shooter too, the secret 14th Joe who died during the first mission.

Shooter was not one of the original Joe toys or Joes. Her character was only briefly seen on the monitor an not in any kind of action.

From YoJoe.com
A computer read-out shows the faces and code names of all 13 original Joes, plus a 14th face obscured by a character's hand with the code-name "Shooter." This is a joke referring to the fact that Jim Shooter was editor-in-chief of Marvel at the time.

GRANTED Shooter was later added in more depth to Joe lore BUT she was NOT an original Joe.

http://www.yojoe.com/comics/gijoedeclas ... ed3b.shtml

Original 13 came out in 1983. Shooter was updated in October 2006.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.

Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.

It's hard to say what count's as Joe Canon and what doesn't.

After all just for the non adventure team lines we currently have the:
-- The Original Cartoon series and assorted extras (VvsV, SpyTroops, Resolute, Sigma 6) various series could be continuations or separate entities.
-- Marvel continuity, which includes the Devil's Due books.
-- Various Joe/TF series (one canon to the marvel line, the ww2 from Dreamwave and the horrible 4-part devil's due mistake.)
-- Reloaded
-- The new IDW series.
-- The British Action Force.
-- The live action ROC series.

As far as the Marvel timeline is concerned, Yes, Shooter is canon.
-- her codename was listed in the first issue.
-- Declassified, which takes place in the same continuity shows what happened to her during the events occurring at the same time.

Just because she wasn't a toy doesn't remove her from existence. Yes she was not in toy form, but she is hardly alone in that regard. Doctor Biggles-Jones is figure less, but is treated as canon so why discriminate on poor Shooter.

Who's to say when they go back to the anniversary line they don't make figures of Shooter and Kwin?

I noticed when I ordered night adder that hasbro is start to stray into marvel territory with some of there figures. Since night adder is pretty much a what if character in the fact that he is just mutt execept if he had joined cobra unstead of G.i. Joe.

All things I forgot but since I didn't have night adder sitting in front of me I couldn't see if the figure had tattoos or not, and as far as mustache goes I thought the figure was wearing a helmet.

OK guys I got my GI Joe complete series set and as always felt the need to share. I threw in some pics of some other recent grabs too.

Image

The box is designed to look like a classic Army foot locker. Not sure what it is made of but the latches and binding are metal. Nice GI Joe logo on top.

Image

The first surprise comes when you open the lid, the box is actually some sort of Joe communicator in disguise. Even my sister thought it was cool.

Image

That section lifts up to reveal a shelf with two small DVD books containing the entire series. On the bottom is the dog tag flash drive and episode guide.

Image

Image

The cases feature artwork of the Joe base and Cobra temple. There is a slip card of sorts that is attached to the outside of the box detailing what's inside. I'm keeping it for now.

Image

Image

The last shot is with the Night Raven Attack/Defense of Cobra Island sets as well as the Kmart four pack. I haven't had a chance to watch any episodes yet but I have watched the special features on the first four discs. There is a new interview on Disc 1-3 with the guy who wrote the first three mini-series. I mention that for those who have the Rhino sets that have an interview with the same guy. Disc four has some PSA's, toy commercials(with the kids heads blurred out), and the original 1963 Toy Fair pitch for GI Joe. The video quality is **** but it is interesting to listen too. As I progress I fill you in on what else is there. I can't comment on video quality since I never saw the Rhino releases and I barely remember yesterday let alone 25 years ago.

FYI on the Kmart set; Heavy Duty's chain gun and grenade launcher are horribly bent due to how they are packaged. Also there is no shoulder strap. Duke unfortunately doesn't come with his AR-15 with grenade launcher so I'm still looking for one.

:BOT: Just watched the first season of GI Joe. Prior to owning the boxset, I might've seen about 20% of the cartoons. So I love tearing through these episodes.

Right now, I have the satisfaction of finally watching Worlds Without End. As a kid, I saw the first 15 minutes of the first part then the second part. There's a good chunk of the story I've never seen until now. Childhood memory solved. :CON:

Supreme Convoy wrote::BOT: Just watched the first season of GI Joe.

:CON:

Are those the episodes that deal with an alternate reality where the Baroness was good.

:BOT: Yep, that's the one! :CON:

Those two episodes have really stayed with me over the years. If anything it showed how to properly write discontinued characters out. *cough*TFTheMovie*cough*
