GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

However, there are some really great figures out there, and they have awesome weapons and articulation.

It's not my favorite, I'm a simple 3.75 guy myself, but I do have most of S6, and did enjoy collecting it. 8)

Is there any new lines out right now besides 25th anniversary?

Not that I know of I think the reason 25th Anniversary figures are the only ones at the moment is because of the upcoming live action movie based on the 25th Anniversary story line which is based on the 80's G.I. Joe vs cobra story line, so they want kids and collectors to get back into that story line so when the movie comes out people are all hyped for the film.

Well it looks like our wallets will be getting lighter with transformers animated and GI Joe battle packs just around the corner can't wait to see which figures will come each of the battle packs.

True but it has gotten a little heavier since the movie toys were released haven't really cared for them but when I found GI Joe 25th anniversary that all stopped curse you hasbro and your reintroduction of GI Joe vs Cobra in such cool packages and the stands for each of the figures don't help much either.

Ya know maybe it was the weather dominator. Really pissed now that I paid for the two disc dvd set. My TRU has gotten in the troop builders and new comic packs. I'm sorry to say that it looks like Hasbro is still using the diaper crotches on some figures. Those molds were supposed to be changed and not used. I'm going for the TRU sets to try and save some $$$ from BBTS.

I like Sigma 6 I never was able to get the figures when they were first out due to TF's being on the shelves at the same time but now I'm scouring e-Bay for whatever I can find. I noticed that TRU and Hasbro.com have a few left. Speaking of TRU they just put out a few stragglers from Sigma 6 including Battlefield Commander Cobra Commander and Lt. Stone. In fact it was one of the earlier Lt. Stones with the black Cobra armor so I went back today to get him only to find that he and CC were gone; curses. I am curious about what secret messages they put on the back of the Sigma 6 packages for Stones decoder to decode. Some figures are good some are meh. Duke rocks with his Switchfire weapon system but I was disappointed by V1. Snake Eyes due to his inability to hold his Swords well and that the pegs in his back didn't hold the sheaths well either. I haven't opened Ninja Armor yet but I'll let ya know.

Hey guys I was wondering if you can help me with something. I just got the Cobra Night Watch set and didn't discover until I got home that the side of the box where the extra accessories are was opened. Now I did check in the store and just assumed that they didn't come with any since they were carrying their weapons in the display. I became concerned when I saw a dangling clear rubber band. Anyone else have the set and know what I'm missing if anything?

First holy **** if that is snake eyes then there is hope for the movie. Second yeah it sounds like your missing something from trooper builder box if there is a rubber band there was ten to one something in there that someone removed it happens all the time with transformers so I would take it back to the store and exchange for another and this time have them check the box before you leave.

That Snake-Eyes looks great. Hell yes.

Oh, and it sounds like someone tampered with your troop builder box. You might want to return/exchange it!

Well, they did make one of them a Wayans brother...!
That being said, between this design and LARRY MFING HAMA, they're doing something right!

I have the GI JOE 5-pack.
It rocks!
The articulation and detail is simply great!
I am going to get the other Cobra packs and then get the comic packs so then I can get the Mail in only Doc fig.
My personal wants for the comic packs are Torch and Ripper and Cap Ace and Wild Weasel.

There are 2 other 25th anniv 5 packs. Also I would recommend the CG Twins if you haven't gotten them already. I liked most of the figs in the sets, but Baroness and Gung-ho I found to be the weakest of the packs.

My rankings:

1. Snakeeyes (I found him to be the best of the 10. I didn't count the hip issue since Snakeeyes doesn't need no stinking vehicle to get the job done. it seems they did invest some time into making this figure good.)
2. Coba Commander (He had only the pisol and one hand to grip it with and it grips well.)
3. Duke (The cover char of Gi JOE, but you love him or hate him. I was surprsed to find I liked the figure. Definately one of the better ones.)
4. Cobra Soldier (All around good figure. Just like Duke.)
5. Stormshadow (The main probs I had were no place to put the bow and arrow and his grips for his swords are a little loose)
6. Scarlet (she suffers from limited movement of the legs due to the waste issue. I also wish her crossbow and been 1 piece.)
7. Destro (If it werne't for the hands, I'd have him in the top 5)
8. Roadblock (He would be in the top 5 if it weren't for the hands. It's near impossible for him to maintain a good grip on his machine gun. But he is the only one of the 10 with the proper waist)
9. Baroness (She had so much potential but she seems stiffest of the pack. her legs barely move and are worse than the way Scarlet's came out)
10. Gung Ho (seriously, it's like they didn't even try with him. His shot gun easily splits in two, he has the waste issue. His biceps are molded wrong and milit his forearms articulation, and he has a tough time standing up. I would rather they put Flint in this pakc than GUngho if it meant making the figure better.)

I also had aquestion: A few weeks ago I found a single carded Infantry Snakeeyes. Is the standard Single-carded Infantry Snakeeyes supposed to be a flat dark grey color like the 5 pack one or compeltely black? This one did not look like the box had been tampered with either.

The two comic packs that people must own besides torch and ripper are the crimson twins and scar-face cobra trooper and fred VII: crimson guard edition just because of the comic that comes with them.

The single card is supposed to be the black color, and the 5 pack was more grey in color.

Would it be wrong to say that you became physically aroused at that picture of Snake Eyes from the new movie? I'm not saying I did, it was a friend ya know? Anyway thanks for the input on the pack. Any idea what could be missing. This is the Night Watch pack so I'm thinking just their standard rifles. I'm going to try and get to TRU tomorrow but work might infringe on that. I hope they don't think I'm trying to pull a fast one or else you might be seeing me on the evening news. I heard that Roadblock was given those hands to better hold his gun, first time I've heard complaints about it. Speaking of guns, did a joe ever come with the type of machine gun that Jesse Ventura's character had in Predator? It was the same one Arnie had in T2. Thanks again for your help guys.

I know that a version of Rock and Roll came with two of them (miniaturized to be able to be held one per hand), but I do not know if any others did.

I thought it looked like one of the Cobra Night Watch guys came with one--I have yet to get the pack myself- is that the gun you are missing? I'm a bit slow today... 8)
