Well the new figures are Omega something made by a company with a monkey as it's mascot.

SKΩ is a new line in the works that is set on reliving the style of what made G.I. Joe so popular.
The premise of the line is set during present time amidst the civil unrest in the United States. In the middle of all the chaos is a terrorist cell called "Virus", recruiting people by the masses for their anti-government organization. To counter act this organization, the president gives the go-ahead on a special forces group known as S.K. Omega. Lead by General Edward Strong, their goal is to stop Virus and restore stability in the country.
Each side features a group of unique individual all with their own specialties.
The Omega group is comprise of Rook, Foxtrot, Patch, Blitz, Buzzard, and Back Talk. These characters are all given a "real-world" look, along with weaponry and vehicles currently in use by todays military.
The Virus, comprised of Fracture, Jade Claw, the Ballistic Trooper, and the Kamikaze Trooper are all given a futuristic look with just a hint of Neo-Nazi on Jade Claw.
The toy line will start off with ten 3 3/4" figures, all sporting the classic "o-ring". In addition to the figures we will get a barrage of highly detailed vehicles and playsets. The Omega team is equipped real-world vehicle such as the J-12 Javelin (Harrier), and other such vehicles.
Out of everything, 2 things really caught my eye with the toy line.
First is the Omega's HT-7 OWL. Based off the Russian Kamov Ka-25, this vehicle is sure to be the shinning star for the Omega side. It features twin rotors, a removable cargo container, moving doors, and much more. Once you remove the cargo container, it has straps that allow you to carry other vehicles. SWEET!
Next up is for the Virus side, and is by far probably the coolest part of the line. "The Hive" playset, which resembles an expanded, more detailed version of theCobra Missile Command Headquarters, is sure to be one of the main selling points of this line. It features movable gun turrets, movable computer panels, a huge movable missile, and hatch on the top of the set that opens up and allows the Omega team to zip-line down. The set is absolutely huge, but everything breaks down and folds into a nice little package. Its quite amazing.
Aside from the toy line , the Omega team will be brandishing their adventures in a comic and animation series.
This looks like a promising line for toy fans. The creators have the right idea, as they want to keep the price down and nostalgia up. The big selling point for these guys is to keep the price point as low as possible. To be able to provide even the most elaborate playset with reasonable price.
Unfortunately as of right now set backs have halted distribution of this line, which was to be available as online exclusives, but where one door closes another opens up. The delay in production has given the MMI team enough time to prepare for the next ToyFair, in which they hope to get picked up for mass retail distribution. Lets hope all goes well, as this is one line that i personally would love to see on the pegs.

Are they ripping off Aliens? Or is there something extra they have planned they haven't mentioned to us yet?
and how many are looking at the figs and thinking frak it and are planning to put together a cross-team squad of Colonial Marines?
1337W422102 wrote:Well, Spirit's an homage to a character from Predator, and there seem to be a few Aliens homages here and there. Might just be Hasbro recognizing the oldschool, and not just their own oldshool. I'm okay with this.

Really, I just don't see them as BT units. And because I was thinking they would fit great as Exo-Squad mecha.

Definitely getting an Exo-Forcey vibe.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:If any of you haven't yet I highly recommend checking out numbers latest comic as it features the first appearance of a sorta soon to be released GI Joe; and you better not pout.
Now on to something far more serious. Since I haven't seen them by now is it safe to assume that CS Duke and Desert Viper were canceled? I was looking sorta forward to both but not that much as to pay $$$ on e-bay for them.

Thanks, Chuck!
They're not cancelled; I've seen 'em in my area. Just sit tight and I'm sure they'll show up in yours!
