I don't see the resemblance to the 80's version of Green Lantern Guy Gardner. :-D

AHA! "80's version", which to me says you believe Guy got better.

Cyclops however has, and will forever be, a giant douchebag.

Guy did get better. He's not going around calling himself the only real Green Lantern anymore or picking fights with anyone and everyone. Hell, he even made peace with Hal and was the first to forgive and forget after his ordeal as Parallax.

Green Lantern might be my favorite DC franchise ... and the only one I still follow.

But, yeah, Cyclops is a MUCH bigger jerk than Guy ever was. But if this is cartoon Cyke then I think that's mitigated by quite a bit. Cartoon Cyke didn't leave his wife and child just because his ex came back to life or kill Professor X, or cheat on his second wife with someone else or any of that.

I'm betting the tie-in comic will have Cyke, Wolvie, and Psylock in the Blackbird when X-Spance scans it and he winds up duplicating their mutant powers because they're mutants. I mean that stretches TF mythos by quite a bit, but it'd explain the power effects.

Cartoon Cyclops was definitely more sympathetic, and I'm even less hard on him now after his voice actor, Norm Spencer, passed away less than three months ago.

I hate 2020.

I hate comic Cyclops and have found his numerous cartoon counterparts better characters.

Although I've always felt sympathetic with the whole "has to wear glasses at all times thing" and find his powers tragic.

Although this again applies to his screen media versions more then the comics because again...comic Cyclops sucks.

I mean Skid-Z from RID scanned a ghost and became obsessed with racing, so at least X-Spanse makes a bit more sense

Hasbro's price is listed on Pulse.

I'm actually surprised by the price being lower than I expected.

Ectotron was $60 up here, twice the price of a regular Voyager at the time.

Gigawatt was also $60, twice the price of a regular Deluxe now.

I feared X-Panse would be twice a current leader, or $140...going with today's rate, he oughtta be $100 when EB lists it.

Also, everytime I see the name X-Panse, it looks like a mis-spelling of X-Pants...

The latter. That's the photo from Target's listing, which is badly mistransformed.

The photos directly from Hasbro are correctly transformed.

Other than the panels on the back being folded down instead of up, I don't see much of a difference. Either way, this thing is horrendous. I would like the small Wolverine and Sabertooth figures though.

It's on pulse's listing :???:

Yeah, Sabr already posted it. It wasn't on the front page so I didn't realize they had made a "coming soon" page. It's really hard to judge if these collaborations are worth the money without any sense of size. If he's the size of SS Jetfire, but standing upright instead of hunched over then he should be closer to the "old Leader" size and that might be worth $65. Definitely need to see some comparisons first.

I think the weirdest part about this one though, going back to when rights were mentioned. Hasbro makes Marvel Legends. They have access to the entire Marvel Universe roster. In that way, this isn't like the other crossovers, to date. They could have really pushed the boat out on this one. At the very least based the figure on the Blackbird they purposely display in the crossover logo. Or if they really wanted to capture the X-Men '92 nostalgia ticket. Make This into a Transformer....

I like it. It's interesting and it's loud. And we finally stepped into the leader class crossover size. And the effects parts are really neat.

I preordered from Target.

So crossover toy wise, Ectotron was an absolute win, I am awaiting my Gigawatt (who looks really cool), I cancelled Maverick after deciding $50 was just too steep for something I don't really have a connection to and looks a good bit shite, and I used my Target 25% off to order the new Ectotron because that toy is great, I love Ghostbusters, and I love that new head they gave it, and now we have a sort of 3 x-men in 1 tf. It's been looking good.

I did the same. I have the original on order with Pulse and the new one on order with Target, and the coupon made the new one just a couple of dollars more than the original. I figure Target might cancel the new one on me, and there's a chance Pulse will delay, so who knows what will show up first.

If I get the new one first, I can easily cancel the old one, and if the old one shows up first, then I'll leave it unopened and then resell it on eBay if I actually get the new one. Target pre-orders have not gone well for me.

At least with this X-men set, if Target cancels me, then I have a chance with Pulse in March.

Even with access to the entire MCU is there a really great, iconic, vehicle for them to make? That's also tied to a really popular portion of their universe?

The only one that springs to mind is Ghost Rider. But he's not that popular. I looked up the old crossover toy and was reminded of why I never got it. Kinda wish i did now though.

The X-Men Black Bird is quite iconic.

Beyond that, off the top of my head:

Avengers Quinjet:

Captain America's Bike.

Spider-Man's Spider-Buggy.

Shield's Hellicarrier.

Titant Class Heliccarrier would be awesome though. I can see Metroplex being used for that.

Would end up looking a bit like the Macross SDF1 I think.

Oh no, I don't mean choosing a more iconic vehicle. Nothing in the MCU is more iconic than the X-Men anyway. I mean that rights isn't an issue here, to set limitations on the figure itself.

Image
The X-Jet from the Animated Series. A better design that could have been a much better figure. Instead we got lazy shared engineering and an alt-mode that doesn't really exist within X-Men on a consistent basis.

The MCU is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, of which the X-Men aren't currently a part. Also, once we discern what it is we're actually talking about, it's definitely arguable that the X-Men are the "most iconic" thing in the Marvel Universe.

The thumb doesn't show for me. The site prevents hotlinking and I think it's drawing on your own local cache.

But I looked it up and see what you mean. Yeah, this is the first time I can say they didn't nail the vehicle mode.

Quinjets don't seem iconic to me. That could just be me, I guess.

The most iconic vehicles in Marvel are probably the Fantasticar, SHIELD Helicarrier, the Blackbird and Ghost Rider's bike. The classic Quinjet on the other hand...

Image

Although the MCU did try to modernise the design. Yet in doing so made them very generic and forgettable.
