Hey Hasbro, I'd give you $20 for a red and blue Optimus Minor. No, really.
As for getting this from Robot Kingdom, it cost US$50 to ship this to the USA (or to me anyway) at the cheapest. I really doubt this will go for US$170 at TRU (probably more like US$130, I expect the price to be closer to Starscream than G2 Prime) so RK doesn't really seem like a viable option for most people.

What are you using to come up with that number? From what I can tell, this will be released between 150$-190$. Look at these facts:
RK YOTG Soundwave for 120
TRU YOTG Soundwave for 190
RK YPTG Prime for 105
TRU YOTG Prime for 180
RK YOTG Primal for 120
Using these facts as predictors, we are a looooooooooong way from Primal being Starscream prices at TRU.
And while RK might not be viable, it is a cheaper option for shipping YOTG Soundwave than buying it off TRU.com.
Here is a question when has it EVER happened that a platinum release was more expensive at RK (before shipping ) than at retail in the States? Because that is what you are suggesting and I just dont see anything to back up that hope. Mind you, I would be glad to know you are right, but I am not getting my hopes up when looking at the evidence before me.

Perhaps, but I can get them at bbts for less, and only pay $5 in shipping, so it seems to be the best option for us(me) here in the US...

Thats discounted. We were referring to the retail MSRP in the states since we are wondering how much Primal will cost when released in the states.

Emerje wrote:When did I suggest anything at all like that? I even raised the price on YOTM Primal just to concede that the price may be higher. The real fact is we've seen prices at RK both the same and lower on YOT figures so it's reckless to state that YOTM Primal will definitely be higher and by how much.
Lower than RK? I doubt it. But the same or slightly more? That I'll believe. YOTM Primal is a pretty simple figure, that's why I compared his pricing to YOTH Starscream. If they do sell him in the US$180 range then that's even more insane than the YOTG prices.

I do think a deeper, maybe metallic navy blue, a few spots of yellow or gold, and a faction symbol on the chest would have improved the look, though.

Yeah, remember when the first two came out, and how there was so much effort put into o/p and omega, now they're just petty cash-grabs

The first one was just as much a cash grab:

Yeah he seems far more the exception to the rule when you think about it. More like he was a standard western release platinum figure and not necessarily a YOT figure for the asian market.

Preeeeetty sure that figure was always gonna be a Platinum Edition since Generations doesn't exactly have a history of releasing non-CHUG molds from nine years before in premium colors and tooling.Hellscream9999 wrote:william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The effort put into Omega seemed to be at least related to his appearance in the WFC video game that was available and being promoted at the time.

Yeah, feels like he was meant to be a 'generations' release 'til some d|ckhead decided they could make it an exclusive

But the Chinese New Year ones tend to be a big Optimus toy and a big companion piece (barring the Dragon and Monkey years). What better big companion piece to go with the Energon Optimus mold than Energon Omega?william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Preeeeetty sure that figure was always gonna be a Platinum Edition since Generations doesn't exactly have a history of releasing non-CHUG molds from nine years before in premium colors and tooling.Hellscream9999 wrote:william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The effort put into Omega seemed to be at least related to his appearance in the WFC video game that was available and being promoted at the time.

Yes, it makes sense that it was platinum. But more of the standard platinum kind (like the dinobots, platinum ultra magnus and predaking) and not necessarily a Chinese Zodiac edition.
