HASBRO REVEALS TRANSFORMERS PRIME BEAST HUNTERS AT NEW YORK COMIC CON
The Hunt Begins in 2013 as OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS Face an Unprecedented New Foe in the TRANSFORMERS PRIME Animated Series and Beyond
NEW YORK, NY - October 11, 2012 - In a packed room filled with TRANSFORMERS fans, Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) officially unveiled details about TRANSFORMERS PRIME BEAST HUNTERS during a special panel at New York Comic Con on Thursday. BEAST HUNTERS will be the touchstone for TRANSFORMERS brand entertainment in 2013 driven by the award winning TRANSFORMERS PRIME animated series which is produced by Hasbro Studios, airs on The HUB television network in the U.S. and is seen by kids and fans in over 170 countries around the world.
The beasts, comprised of a new TRANSFORMERS faction called the PREDACONS, are led by one of the most imposing and powerful characters in the TRANSFORMERS world - PREDAKING. At New York Comic Con, in addition to giving fans a sneak peek at PREDAKING in the animated series, Hasbro discussed how BEAST HUNTERS will be the driving force behind its product line including toys as well as an extensive licensing program.
"In recent years, TRANSFORMERS fans have seen the AUTOBOTS battle the DECEPTICONS," said Aaron Archer, Vice President of TRANSFORMERS Brand Creative and Design. "The PREDACON faction, made up of menacing beasts that convert in ways mankind has never seen, have now joined the DECEPTICONS to take down the AUTOBOTS. We’re looking forward to exploring this new dynamic in the animation, action figures, KRE-O building sets, publishing and more."
As a special early look for fans, Hasbro also unveiled select new toys from the BEAST HUNTERS line that will launch in the spring of 2013 including new KRE-O TRANSFORMERS building sets and TRANSFORMERS PRIME action figures. Both toy lines will be driven by the BEAST HUNTERS theme bringing the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS - and now the PREDACONS - to life in toy form and will be reflective of the compelling and visually stunning aesthetic of the TRANSFORMERS PRIME animated series.
"BEAST HUNTERS is an exciting new direction for TRANSFORMERS brand entertainment and the introduction of the PREDACON faction is a pivotal moment for OPTIMUS PRIME and the heroic AUTOBOTS, impacting the world of TRANSFORMERS which will never be the same," said Jay Duke, Global TRANSFORMERS Brand Vice President at Hasbro. "Kids and fans will be amazed by how Hasbro will bring this story and the ‘beasts’ to life across the brand’s major entertainment platforms in 2013."

Never been a fan of beast alt modes since I was a kid... Laser beak and ravage were cool but I was always left scratching my head. Obviously the dinbots were awesome and their g1 introduction had me sold... And g1 predaking is still close to the top of my must haves... Not to mention the insecticons.. Also beast wars was such a great show...and high moon concocted a decent dinbots origins story..
So any misgivings logic tells me to have, I'm curious to see the new direction prime will take. Also I'd like to see a back story for the organic tf's in prime like airachnid and the insecticons.
I'm just glad there won't be many interesting prime toys so I might somehow find enough for the g1 goodness ie fortress maximus and the masterpieces... Though that predaking intrigues me and they seem to enjoy teasing us with him by not showing the roboto mode.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is - FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

It's Ravage, and it's similar to the Laserbeak with the first Soundwave, not a Micron at all.
That Sinnertwin homage is really neat, I'm glad they're hitting up a comparatively obscure character. Unless he has a connection point hidden up his butt it looks like we won't be getting a Terrorcon combiner any time soon.
That Laserback might be my favourite out of all these guys now.
The fact that Wheeljack has his closed mask might lead to some sales for people wanting to headswap. And, so help me, that new headcrest on Bumblebee actually looks pretty cool.
Not the most promising of first impressions. I'm not sure why there is a need to try and make highly advanced alien robots look more primitive, though I guess they picked a theme and they're going with it.
I will remain optimistic and keep reminding myself how completely anti-Beast Wars I was when it first started before it became a series I truly enjoyed. (til season 3 anyway)
It would be nice to see TF Prime branch off and do something at least semi-original instead of continually riding the 'hey remember this name from G1!' train. Which admittedly the second half of season 2 is kinda almost already doing with the pokemon relic hunting.
The Laserbeak beast mode is pretty damn good! That has to be the best beast mode i've seen in a looooong time. Well at least in that pose and with that angle it looks dead sexy anyways. Won't see it at retail EVER so don't really care.
Sinnertwin has me excited but i wish he was executed better. But he's a cyberverse class fig (i don't buy cyberverse) so what can ya do. If anything I'm still stoked to see him.
Omega Supreme!....... It's alright. Very passable.
The rest are a wash for me. Once again yet another entire wave of product that Hasbro won't be getting a single dollar from me for.

Doesn't the original Wheeljack have a closed mask?
Well guess I'm going senile.
The Microns that comes with the Arms Micron sets are way bigger than that Ravage and are kits. And have powerlink points. Also, does that Ravage become a weapon? I think it just plugs into his chest.

Something pegs into Soundwave's arm as a weapon. Assumed it was Ravage. Guess I'm going a bit senile too.
Motto:"You honestly believed that The Leige Maximo was Prima's other half? How foolish of you!"
Weapon: Dark Saber Sword
Cyberverse: meh Deluxes: Cool! Doubt Ravage is a weapon. But still, nice to see him. Voyager Predaking: NO! I'll wait for the leader class. Year of the Snake Omega and Optimus: WANT!

I'm pretty sure it's his grabby, shooty claw on a string thing.
Speaking of which, these far larger weapons probably go some way towards explaining the recent price hike on deluxes.
>that feel when I want to repaint that Bulkhead to look like a Brute Chieftan >that feel when I want to turn Smokescreen into Marcus Fenix >that feel when Hasbro loves 360 exclusives
Sinnertwin is Cyberverse? Commander then? Because it looks like he has at least some articulation. Liking the new Soundwave colours and tooling. Ravage is pretty cool too. Wheeljack is a bit strange. Looks like a bit of a stegosaurus. Laserback (?) looks good in alt mode, but not sure on the robot.
Too bad Cyberverse Roadbuster Bulkhead is...well, a Cyberverse. Not too sold on the rest of the wee guys. The vehicle/accessories are looking good. Sky Claw is maybe a tad gaudy though. The Breakdown Apex armour isn't really for me, but am glad they've made it more original than the first two.
Predaking could be really nice. I'd like to see the robot mode first though, before getting too excited. Optimus doesn't do much for me, but that Omega is something nice.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide. Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.
I notice LaserBack and Sinnertwin have a different faction symbol than the one that was revealed yesterday. Early production photos or second beast faction? Or does Predaking get the revealed insignia all to himself?
What a truly ugly selection of toys that is. Messy, ill-considered designs and remolds and sickening colour schemes. Yuck. A couple of the existing Prime designs are quite nice, but this next wave is a disaster. Imagine what these are going to look like without the carefully applied Photoshop sheen they have in these pictures. They look like someone vomited coloured plastic.
Oh, what I'd kill for a couple more Classics right now - at the appropriate size, of course. A Trailbreaker maybe. Or a nice Springer. Hasbro, please take your plastic dragon and stick it up your arse.
Somewhat excited for Prime (especially the Cyberverse), not so much Kre-O. Also, with 'Beast' Hunters being the new thing, anyone think Airachnid might return?
Omega Supreme alllllmost makes me regret blowing most of my money on Encore Fort Max. Almost. Prime, not so much. I'll wait for eBay, unless they're actually sold separately.
Has anyone noticed the Omega Supreme has retooling to resemble WFC Omega Supreme? I really like it. I hear everyone talking about a Laserbeak but I don't see one
