Red Alert fails unless there's a lightbar. There's already notchs they could use, how hard would it be to make one?

I was counting on a Red Alert repaint. Hope he gets the light-bar, though. Probably haven't heard this too often, but Wheelie is fantastic.. can't wait to get him!

I wonder why is Laserbeak on the new Encore release and not Buzzsaw since Laserbeak was already released with Encore Soundwave, so what's the point of re-releasing a figure in the same line? Maybe it's Buzzsaw instead. When the minibots pack was announced there was also confusion about the included minibots, I guess this will be the same thing, and we'll get Buzzsaw instead (I hope). Otherwise it's simply non-sense...

The Universe/Henkei figures look cool but I don't care about them...

Universe Red Alert. lol. Like we didn't see that coming. He looks awesoeme. Now we can have the Safety Friends, of Red Alert and Inferno. But what's with him having no light bar?

Good news overall. Red Alert looks a bit bare and I'm not sold on the minibots being in the Henkei line, but overall glad that Henkei is slowly catching up and indeed overtaking Hasbro in the production rates (in the cases of Ratchet and Red Alert) as I prefer their versions

I just heard that the Encore tapes are two sets. One Decepticon and one Autobot. If that's true that's very overpriced. $50 for two Encore tapes? I'm hoping whoever told me that is wrong because you can get toys like Encore Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet for $35-$50.

Red Alert definitely needs the light bar on top. I am excited to see that there will probably be additional tapes volumes.

I like that Smokescreen waaaaay better than the announced US version.

I'm on the fence about Red Alert. I put in the pre-order for both. I can always cancel if they announce a US release, or if the final version still looks that bad.

For the moment I'm actually kinda happy it's just a Photoshop job a not a preproduction paintjob.

I have a bunch of Henkei figs and the chrome does'nt really do anything for me. I only went with Henkei because it was cheaper for me to buy them than the US versions. I don't own the new Henkei figs. The only ones I have are Rodimus, Starscream, Ramjet, Bumblebee, and Mirage. The chrome is'nt excessive on any of the figures, but I would've have rather had molded plastic as I fear the chipping I'll have in the years to come.

yea a light bar would be kool but thats not gonna stop me pickin him up, its an awesome mold and another gr8 (sometimes trippy) G1 character.

and if you lot of moaners are forgettin, the original red alert and sideswipe shared the same mold, so where’s the problem?

u can't really say anything about the detail yet as this may not be the final version, plus hasbro's may be better.

This makes me realise how stupid it is to repaint a Lamborghini into a fire department vehicle. Yeah, that makes sense

Not that I'd have them do it any other way!

Anyway, it will be cool to have Red Alert and Inferno on the shelf together. Hope he looks better when we see some proper pics.

The department obviously has a tremendous budget! Red Alert just can't drive it past any of the city's taxpayers.

Hmmm, I think I like Henkei Smokescreen slightly better then the US version. Guess I'll have to add another one to my list of Henkei's > Hasbro. As for Red Alert, I'll wait to see what Hasbro does.

I'm hoping to get a lot of Henkei shoppin done at Botcon. Still need Henkei Megs n Starscream as well.

It does seem quite expensive. It's about the same price as Encore Megatron.

Unless there's a Hasbro version, I probably will not get this toy. My Classics collection is getting full, especially my Autobots.

I'm definitely getting both... Probably 2 Smokescreens.
I'll have to see the Hasbro version of Red Alert before I decide if I'm going one and one, or both Henkei for him.
Even without a light bar, I'm still in.

edit:
I went to BBTS and looked at both versions of Smokescreen, and the Henkei version is waaaay better imo... Didn't think there'd be so many differences/improvements--

--spoiler is red, not blue and yellow
--the front of the car is blue and white, not black
--the white stripe is thinner
--the number 38 is not on the hood
--the number on the door fits in the white square much more nicely (this part of the Hasbro version almost looks like a design mistake-- the number looks too small, or he white box looks too big)
--the bot mode is free of those annoying yellow accents (besides on the head where they should be)
--the only chrome looks like it'll be the shoulder cannons and gun

And I can't tell, but it almost looks like the wheels are silver or white, not that seemingly random copper color.

To me, this is one of the most improved figures that Henkei has released.
I just changed my preorder to "1 standard and 1 collector".
