If you look closely at the VTOL fans, there is a peg in the middle. Looks big enough to fit in that hole on the top of his wings. That would give him a G1 look in both bot and alt mode. Sweet!

As for the grey face, that's the anime-accurate theme. Thrust had a white face in the toon.

Glad I pre-ordered these. They might not be perfect, but they'll look great to me.

Alas, its not Botcon Thrust but is as close as I will come without spending 300+ dollars.

Gonna be fun trying to find a color match to go over that horrid camo.

Well i'm getting the two of them. I agree whit Thrust's wings but the only thing i really dislike is those awfull stickers. But i have the solution, i will take them off like i did on Alternator Smokescreen whit a little of benzine.

I guess I'll be sticking with Henkei season 1 Seekers and Hasbro Coneheads. I 'upgraded' my GoD Thundercracker for the sake of having a nicely matched set of SS SW and TC and have come to quite like having the chrome on them set them apart from their Conehead brethren. I accepted Dirge not getting the remoulded wings at the time the GoD set came out last year and don't really want to have to put out this much cash for a figure I'd have to strip paint from to get it the way I'd like. Also it looks like the initial outlines that we saw a while back were accurate and they'll be getting the Starscream rather than Ramjet styled missiles. Again I like having the different missiles as something to set apart the second trio. Add in the fixable but irritating QC issues with the first round of Henkei Seekers and I'm happy enough to stick with what I've got this time around.

If they do a Sunstorm or a Ghost Starscream in the future though...

I sure wish Drige had different missles more similar to Ramjet. And those patterns are just strange. This has moved back in the "maybe" pile for me.

Both look unique enough from the Botcon versions to be considered totally different by all parties.

Dirge looks good enough to buy, but Thrust is a definate pass, for several reasons. I have to wonder if these molds will suffer some of the same issues as Henkei Thundercracker.

Hehe, I guess I'm one of the few that actually like these. Not for the characters really, but for the fact that they are so different looking from the original set. I don't understand why people can't just make up new names and characters for them, but that's what I'll be doing. Keep my GoD guys as the originals and these guys will be new characters in my seeker army. I was hoping to get a white/colored Thrust face as well. Niiice.

OK, I caved and preordered. I just really want a full seeker set. I can live with the wing patterns. I have the feeling they'll probably grow on me.

However, I did skip the BBTS preorder and got mine from TFSource. BBTS priced themselves out of my preferred vendor spot.

It looks like you can detach the fans from the lags and put them on his main wings so that he looks like this:

hmm, this is perfect they are different enough from the botcon pair (which i have) but there also different enough to be considered different bots all together IMO. i wasn't goin to get then but now after seein them in colour i defo will be, may change a few other colours tho and we have 2 new seekers. i love the colours of thrusts wings but then i guess since i have the botcon one and inteed to rename this one its no surprise.

although QC is a issue but my TC & SW ain't too bad, and maybe the conehead mold is still gd as its not been use as much as the other mold.

Those wings on tHrust don't make any sense. I'd still like to grab one, tho...

Actually, you have to hand it to Takara for caring about the feelings of people who bought the Botcon set. I'm certain they could have just released these in totally show accurate decos, and I'm sure they would rather have done just that.

The fact that these figures are totally different retools of the seeker mold, with slightly different paint apps would have been more than enough to retain the (long term) value of the Botcon set, in my opinion. But no, they stuck on completely different paint apps onto the new wings, just to make them even more different.

At least that's my take on it. Seems like a gentleman's agreement between Hasbro and Takara.

That's a postive spin. Good to see that once in a while

I'm sticking with my theory that Takara would be dead behind the eyes if it didn't take advantage of an opportunity to make money hand over fist. If they REALLY cared, they'd recall Henkei SW and TC with apologizes for assuming prototypes could pass for production.

Dirge's new wings look good. But the chrome and decals put me off.

Has i told before i like them all they will be mine.
But i would like to see new G1 inspiring molds for at least Jazz Wheeljack Soundwave and Blitzwing.
Takara is doing a great job, possible on a near future we could see some molds being repainted to new G1 charaters. But i have one request for Takara, please don't wait for Hasbro to launch their Transformers first, it doesn't matter if you launch second or first in my opinion the ones that bellow to Takara are the best.

well this is just perverse. the whole selling point of henkei ramjet was the lack of ugly wing decal and more authentic g1 look. inconsistent much, takara?

ho hum. though i must say it softens the blow with regards to the fact that i own the GoD set.

I don't mind the look of Dirge and Thrust. It's great that Takara is offering these for fans that missed out, and it is nice that they are something different than the Botcon versions. No one loses. Sure the decals could be little more G1, but it's not a big loss. I agree with others that Thrust's fans are probably removeable and can be placed on the front wings.
