HMW: Frontline Vol.1 Issue 4
Reporting from Hell's Front LineThis is Kamjiin, HMW: Frontline's War Correspondant, reporting to you from the front lines of the Great War. In this issue, we took the time to sit down with one of the up and coming young Predacon turks:
Diablosaur of Death's Shadow. This interview was timely and engaging. I hope you all find it as enlightening as I did.
Kamjiin: First let me say thank you for taking the time for this interview, Diablosaur.
Diablosaur: Thank you for having me, anything to get away from the battle field from time to time.
Kamjiin: Why did you choose the Predacons? The numbers are clearly against you.
Diablosaur: I chose the Predacons because they are clearly the supreme underdogs when it comes to sheer numbers. Even the Maximals outnumber us in both numbers and level. The glory of victory is just so much sweeter when you know you are outnumbered.
Kamjiin: How do you operate in the field when facing such a deficit in mechapower?
Diablosaur: Operation at this point in time is difficult. For the most part I am reduced to just participating in the Arena. In missions not only are we outnumbered most of the time, but the lower tier missions, which I must participate in, are filled with more powerful mechs than myself and anyone that I am teamed up with for that current mission.
Kamjiin: What requirements, if any, are there to join with the Predacon cause?
Diablosaur: The only requirement you need is to have the guts to be the biggest underdog in the game. Also, since the Predacons are such a small group, it is a very tightly knit community. The Preds do seem to be a bit more mature than the other transformers in the opposing factions.
Kamjiin: Who do you consider your chief rival?
Diablosaur: Honestly, I have not been in this war long enough to establish a “chief rival.” The only mechs that get on my nerves would have to be anyone that is on the Guerillas team. They always beat me and I find it very annoying.
Kamjiin: In your opinion, what is the biggest threat facing young soldiers in the field right now?
Diablosaur: The biggest threat right now would have to be the division of the factions. Autobots to Maximals, Decepticons to Predacons, and so forth in that fashion.
Kamjiin: What type of weapons do you prefer? Or do you like to slug it out, mecha to mecha?
Diablosaur: Personally I love the feeling of ripping another mech apart with my bare hands.
Kamjiin: If the Quintessons mount a second offensive, how will the Predacons respond to the threat?
Diablosaur: Honestly, I don’t feel that the Predacons could mount an offensive against the Quints ourselves. We would however be willing to make a temporary cease fire with the other factions to eliminate this threat for the time being.
Kamjiin: Some say the Autobots and Decepticons are a dying breed, that their days are numbered on Cybertron. What is your opinion of the matter?
Diablosaur: I think that the Bots and Cons are not only thriving, but will in fact be the most numerous of the four factions, that’s not saying that they will be the most successful of the four, that it left to the Predacons of course.
Kamjiin: The Maximals seem to think they are the top mechs around here, since their ranks have recently been swelled by several high profile defectors. Having faced them in battle, how accurate would you say their boasts are?
Diablosaur: Honestly, in most of the battle’s I have been in have, more or less, been a fifty-fifty split between the two. The Maximals do, however, seem to have the most powerful bots for the tier of missions that I have been in.
Kamjiin: Do you think the Predacons and the Decepticons should form an alliance, as some have suggested? Or do you believe the Decepticons should be removed from Cybertron?
Diablosaur: All mechs opposing the Predacons should be removed from Cybertron, but of all the opposing factions, the Decepticons would have to be the lesser of all the evils. They do share our support for the strong, and do not support and defend the weak like those pitiful Autobots and Maximals. We just happen to be more diplomatic than the Decepticons and do not share their views on complete destruction.
All glory and honor to the Predacons!!!
Kamjiin: Thank you once again, Diablosaur.
Let's get some perspective on what things look like in the field right now:Anonymous Auotbot 32: I know that's not a Decepticon insignia, but that's the same transformer that's been out to get me. Is this button the radio?
Anonymous Predacon 14: Kill him already. I'm sick and tired of seeing him everytime I turn around. Wait...the autoguns. Get down!
In other news today: The main factions have suffered some devastating losses as defections continue to mount. We asked the Autobots, who have suffered the heaviest losses, how this has effected them. We also asked if reactivating Death's Head was a possible solution.
Evolution Prime: If they go and choose to "maximize" or whatever themselves, then they can go right ahead. They will find out that they have made the wrong choice. It is sad to see some bots abandoning their heritage for some inferior form. As for placing bounties on them, no I won't. They will soon see that what they have done is punishment enough.
We all wonder if the Quints will make another appearance soon. So Frontline went to Iacon's Early Warning Center and asked the on duty sensor operator what things looked like. Will the Quintessons return soon?
Alpha Strike: "Not much can be said just yet. Some sort of major event is definately on the horizon, I can feel it. To answer your second question, you'll see soon. They can't hide forever, they have to refuel."
According to the newsscrolls in the archives, neither the Autobots, nor the Decepticons have proven themselves clear winners. We asked Tarantulas, of the Predacons, for a comment.
Tarantulas: "The Autobots and Decepticons are the outmoded relics of a bygone age. These throwbacks and their war have caused more damage to Cybertron than can ever be repaired. Already, our small numbers have tipped the balance of this war! As our ranks swell, those used-up, rust-ridden paperweights will be relegated to the refuse pile of history."
Letters to the EditorFROM THE DESK OF GORE
Preferred Leader of the Decepticon Empire
I don't like Autobots, Maximals or even Predacons. In fact, I dislike you lot so much that I stand ready to launch an all out offensive against you three groups to beat you down and prove to all of Cybertron that the Deceptcon's are the most dominant beings on this planet, and no doubt in all of the universe.
In fact, I am so confidant that I will make this a little competition, a competition so easy that you might even stand a chance.
You only have to defeat certain teams. That's right, i'm not even going to use the entire Decepticon Army (though if they rest join in I can't be held responsible for that as leadership is still being discussed). I have gathered a group of teams, teams from across the specturm of the Decepticon Army. From the strongest right down to our newest recruits. We will deploy and we will tell you where to find us. You then simply turn up and attempt to beat us. It's that simple even Strike Squad Steve2275 can follow it. Though we all know they will be to cowardly to turn up
So gather your forces, start planning to fight back. For this offensive will start soon, rest assured you will know when it starts.
I shall see you all on the battlefield.
