yes this looks very very awesome but what about actually seeing the battles between factions or at least arena battles that would be cool have any of you people heard of battle knight it is a game almost excattly like hmw except that u can see the arena battles they show a 3-d visual but i hope u guys can do something kinda of like that at least for the arena battles between the players tfs at least that a 2-D or 3-D visual of it

Not gonna happen Razor. HMW is a management game, you manage your team for the best result possible.

Its about about forward thinking and strategy, not button mashing.
If thats what you are after, your in the wrong place.

Read his post again; that's not what he meant. He's talking about a visual replay of the battle than a receipt like readout after the fact.

Not sure what the comparison was trying to show then.

Battle Knight logs are near identical to HMW as it is currently, and how it will be in the new game. BK just has flash graphics (that arent even in the logs), and you have to buy a 'premium account' to get parts of the game.
Thankfully, that's something that wont happen in HMW2.

Logs in HMW2 still need work on the layout, but if the test's are anything to go by, they will be more-or-less the same as they are now in V1.x but I wouldnt be expecting a graphical representation of the battle, if thats what's being hinted at.

Indeed. Video game type of replays are not going to happen. I could give a ton of reasons as to why. It would not be worth the amount of time I would have to sacrifice from things on my plate that pay and potential server/bandwidth issues for us and the users. Just not going to happen.

The goal with HMW2 is to create a modernized yet similar interface. I've been reading every post in these forums over the last year and that seems to be the desire of most of the players.

Didn't either Seibs or Glyph say at one point that if we had 3D style graphics and what not there'd be more of a chance of Hasbro taking legal action? I remember someone saying that, don't remember who exactly did though.

I don't know if there is any legal reasoning. From a technical aspect it isn't feasible.

What he means is that if there were video and sound in the game it would kill bandwidth to the point of having to have a dedicated server. Unless I'm mistaken.

What he means is:

1. It would take entirely to much time away from programming the game/work/family/friends/other IRL issues to implement.

2. We have a dedicated server that is already handling a lot of bandwidth and something along the lines of that would add unwanted stress on the server.

3. The census of players opinions in the past has indicated that the simplicity of the interface/graphics is what most players like about the game.

4. For now and in the near future this is not something that will be implemented in the game.
