How do you feel about the ROTF ending? (Spoilers)

I prefer movies didnt leave the cliffhanger crap. Like pull a deadmans chest ending for the movie. Jack sparrow killed, and the movie ends, as so much crap happening, but you know it has be over soon and theres no way resolve it in 5 mins. I like stand alone stories with may be 1 or 2 threads dangling for a sequel, not if a third movie doesnt get made we have an imcomplete story direction.
Making a new story up for 3rd movie, given transformers did this on a daily basis for episodes, I dont see why this be a huge issue. The bad guys still need energon, and the heroes need figure out a source of their own if they intent to survive. That can easily spawn another story. Sam still has the all spark in his head, so theres that to go from. They havent painted themselves into a corner yet.
Theres plenty of room for 1-4 more movies. Long as they re fairly good (I liked revenge of the fallen, not perfect but its enjoyable.) I see no reason to stop. If anything the technology only gets cheaper to use and better the more thats done with it. It only benefits movies as a whole for this to happen. Who knows ten years form now the effects in the first 2 films become common place in budgets as a result. The show must go on in any case.

I dont think you'll see anyone argue against the fight between prime and the fallen being longer, even if they liked the film. Id personally liked seen Ironhide and Sideswipe battle against Megatron and Starscream during it as well as big finale.(toss in Jolt if you feel Megatron requires more than those two to fight.) Id have the two autobots more or less statemating the cons(may be even megatron had slight edge over ironhide and getting close to finishing him, and then Prime diving in and sending them running.) and bail once they see the fallen go down, like awww slag the fallens dead, we better run. But outside of the Im alright with the Fallen going to big junkyard in the sky heh. And primes Jet mode being a temp power, as it just would forced megatron be upgraded simliarly to compete next film.
In general my true complaints are just more, as id like seen bigger better fights between both sides. Prime and bumble bee got about what they deserved, but the rest of the cast fell short. But I guess always leave the crowd wanting more. I want see sideswipe show us just how damn good he really is hehe.
On side note the I wish the movies ending was closer to games. (atleast the PS2 one since Im still too cheap spring for next gen systems just yet heh.) Prime shoved the fallen into the star harvester to kill him and save the day. Then afterwards it showed the autobots helping rebuild the pyramids with some amusing converse between them and explaining how things were between the world knowing they exist and what not.

I do think the final battle could've been a bit more beefed up and that it should've been longer.
Beyond that, I thought it was fine. And, to be honest, I don't see how it's unreasonable that Optimus was able to take down The Fallen so quickly.
1.) He had the power of the Matrix coursing through him.
2.) He had the power of TWO Sparks powering him.
3.) He was TWO Autobots in one, and not just any Autobots. A Prime and a Seeker. Both held with high regard amongst the TransFormers.
The Fallen is but one creature, in a rather weakened state. He was going to go down, no matter what, but yes...a beefier and lengthier battle would've been a bit more satisfying.
And like it was said, the title of the film was used for a dual purpose.
The Fallen DID get his revenge, to some extent.
Megatron rose up from death, and struck back at Optimus.
So I fail to see how the title was a failure.
I truly don't get it...the movie delivered what it promised to, and people just can't see it. Were you expecting a Shyamalan classic or something? Seriously, the film's obviously simplistic, but it's a lot of fun, and looks reaaally great during all of this.

Sorry if this has been brought up before but I don't understand why the Cube splinters only revive Deceptions and not Autobots.

The cube and it's pieces would revive any creation it made, Autobot or Decepticon.
Optimus and the others never used it on Jazz because as far as they knew, the cube was destroyed. Until the events in ROTF, I don't think they had any idea that the cube splinters could do anything much.
If you're referencing Bumblebee's vocal processor, I haven't the foggiest. I really don't.

It doesn't need to have a great story for it to be a good action movie.
...but it was a great story. ROTF, unlike the first one, actually had a story, to begin with.
Second, the story made sense and was easier to follow.
Third, the story was your standard good vs. evil, of course, but it was a lot of fun, it was entertaining, and we had the chance to see a side of Prime that we've never seen before.
So again I say, it was a great story.
vectorA3 wrote:but a great story is the backbone of all great movies --without a great story all of the action is less meaningful. I still say they should've waited another year/took another year to film, with a proper script. No extreme rush. A movie with this many special fx needs as much time as possible.
*points to above* The only rush was the writer's strike, beyond that, they were going to get this movie out in two years, come hell or high water.
And the movie needed a bit more tightening in spots, polished up a bit, but needing as much time as possible? No. Bad idea.

It wasn't used on Jazz because his body wouldn't function if they tried it.
He was torn in half. His spark chamber was destroyed.

We can't assume that that's the reason. If the Allspark could reactivate Megatron, give a body to the disembodied head of Frenzy, activate lifeless technology into new beings (Dispensor, Ejector, and the like...), then it could definitely revive Jazz. The Autobots didn't know it was capable of doing so as a shard, or Prime knows it's made of pure evil, or something.
I'm starting to think it can create evil, restore pre-existing good, and that's about it. Beyond that, the whole danged thing makes no sense.

Maybe it's best just to not worry about it.
There are already too many crater sized plot holes to worry about.

Here, look. 'Revenge of the Fallen' could mean 'Revenge of the Fallen Ones' which accually what the Polish translation of the title is.
So that would mean the title is correct since Megatron killed Optimus and had his revenge.

That´s also what the swedish translation of the title says. "Revenge of the Fallen Ones".

which is the exact reason Bay, should not have directed TF2. I'll take less explosions and eye candy for a better, meaningful, story any day!! Since Joe is getting good reviews -I wish Sommers had directed TF2!! Just someone other than Bay. Spielberg really f'd up picking him. He should've directed himself for chrissakes. Can you imagine if Cameron directed both TFs?? Bay just took a gigantic piss on the franchise by rushing TF2. Paramount is greedy - they should've been satisfied with just Star Trek and G.I. Joe for '09 and slid back ROTF for '10. There is no freakin reason it had to come out this year other than greed. I like it, but it doesn't deserve to be #9 all time B.O.

Btw, G.I. Joe: R.o.C smokes ROTF. By far!!!! A few little plotholes & things that are hard to agree with, but waay way less than TF2! Watching it made me angry at how good TF2 could've been with the proper care & DIFFERENT DIRECTOR!!!!
