Caelus wrote:So... stupid question... If the Battlemasters are filling the $5-6 titanmaster slot, are the Micromaster pairs filling the $10-12 scout class slot? As much as I love Micromasters and minicons, that feels like a rip off.

Yes unfortunately. I loved the legends figures we have been getting, and really don't care for the micromasters that much (too simple for my tastes). I'll cherry pick a few to buy, but will pass on most of them.

Coincidentally, I've been wondering if we'll see proper Huffer & Gears anytime soon. They are two of the few Autobots to still not have an official figure close enough to their character-models. Who will get there first -- the Masterpiece line or CHUG?
Both characters have interesting designs, with some almost "Goboty" elements.
Was T30 Gears not close enough, or just not recent enough/hard to find? I thought he was a pretty good representation of Gears.

I would not pay $5 for any of the Battle Masters in their own. With the included Fire Blasts, though, I'm planning to get all of them. The unique play and display options of this play pattern provide extra value, especially because the Fire Blast parts are exclusive to the Battle Masters products.
I'm not sure if it'll be successful, but I'm all in.

Not close enough. And his other toy is the original 80s one.

Yeah, that was discussed by Scotty P on the most recent Podcast. What I find odd though is that you only get 1 fire blast and not 2. Which is super weird when the guns have 2 barrels. And I still find it rather expensive. I felt it was a better deal with the Titan masters. Also, if we look at the Prime Masters, the pretender shells were targetmasters and still came with a whole extra small bot to add to the value of the price point.

I thought that would vary by product. Firebolt should have two, though Lionizer and Blowpipe would have only one each.

Based on stock photos, I'm also expecting Aimless to come with two Fire Blasts.

It's not that far off either, though. The T30 figure matches up almost perfectly in alt mode. Keep in mind that the figure was originally designed as Swerve for T30, and in the original G1 toyline, Swerve was a retool of Gears. Gears being a redeco and headswap of Swerve does make some sense, but the mold could have used more retooling, at least for the torso, to really distinguish the two and get Gears a little more on-model. Some red vertical stripes on the helmet framing his face would have helped too, honestly.
Cyberpath wrote:I'm looking at the final result and other than the colours there's nothing about the robot that really says "Gears" to me. Very off model.
HasTak did a great job with the more recent Legends-class Brawn, Bumblebee, Windcharger, Beachcomber, and Seaspray -- I think Huffer & Gears could be just a matter of time.

Accidentally.

This line already looks like a winner to me, though. I wasn't into the Titan Masters stuff and POTP felt too late to jump in (except the fembots, I nabbed those).
It's supposed to be before he chose his finalized side in the war, with Mirage being the one who convinces him to join.Stormshot_Prime wrote:Can’t wait to see Impactor! I’ve lost too many bidding wars for his Combiner award exclusive, and the FOC figure is just straight up lame. Hopefully he’s accurate to both his G1 UK look and his IDW look.
My only concern is why they’re making him a Decepticon? I get the whole “versus” aspect of the fan vote, but it would hav been plenty believable if he was a rogue Autobot, or specifically designated as a Wrecker. That’s like releasing a Decepticon Cliffjumper if you ask me.

Yeah, Evergreen Barricade seems most likely.Skritz wrote:If he's a Deluxe, then he most likely is a Prowl retool which use the Evergreen Barricade.
