I would think so but it's not easy to prove since you can't see how much damage you would've taken without it.

is there much of a point upgrading rank or even purchasing armor?it seems endurance takes care of it.

Doesn't endurance protect you more against tactics than normal weapon attack where as armour protects you against the more general weapons and old smack to the head techinques
i might of got it completely wrong but i'm sure i read that a few times :-?

eh as far as I can tell they both do about the same, Armor protects against the standard attacks, weapons and stuff, but even still it should have some minor effect on protecting against tactics like Ram. Indeed the stronger you are when you get rammed the less likely you are stunned, no wait thats just strength. I suppose both are good to have regardless, better safe than sorry.

Hooray for summations, they make the world go round... until they stop and the earth grinds to a halt sending every living person, animal and everything else into space where they suffer a horrible end.

I have noticed that after giving one of my members a point of rank and equiping him with one point of ceramic armor he is no longer the weakest link in the missions. He was constantly the first one into the CR chambers before I made that move.

its a good deal better, Steel is cheeper and supposidly faster to install in bulk, but Ceramic does the job and I believe its comparable to 1 ton Ceramics = 2 ton steel = 3 ton iron = 4 ton Pepsi Can.

Damn, that pepsi-can armor was a bad investment then huh? :(

And while on armor, I want some Boron-Carbide or Boron Nitride armor. Only diamonds are stronger.

For reference Boron-Carbide is this

I thought iron was more effective then steel?

Ceramic is the best armor at rank 1. Tammuz actually has the effectiveness broken down.

I don't know, you'd have to ask him. I'd expect him to post on here sooner or later honestly.

Armour only protects against non-tactic attacks - I know, it's a silly system and I thought I'd fixed it, but apparently that change got rolled back way back in the game's development and I didn't realise until recently. Endurance protects against both tactic and non-tactic attacks.

However, END is less effective against non-tactic attacks than it is against tactics, and armour can reduce damage more than END can - the most END can do on its own is to halve the incoming damage, but the armour modifier is applied in addition to that. Enough of the right type of armour can (currently) reduce even the most powerful weapon attack by 80%, before END is even taken into consideration.

Weapon: Black Magic
Armour protects against just non-tactic attacks.

Endurance protects against both, however, the best it can do is half the damage of an non-tactic attack.

So; Endurance would be better then, Da?
It would certainly help out the struggling medic community here too.
