The thing about G1 is that it was archaic and cheesy. Personally, that's why I loved it! Beast Wars was excellent, fleshing out on G1 a bit and putting forward some cracking 3D shots of the G1 transformers for the first time. Armada and RiD are pretty decent, Energon was silly but the toys had a G1 feel to them, and Cybertron, while the toys were even better, the show was lame beyond belief.

In a world I imagined a long time back, there were the same two sides with competing navies, one with an Autobot aircraft carrier, and the Decipticons with a giant sea-serpent, looking something like a huge, segmented submarine with a mouth and eyes.
I'd say a carrier seems more Autobot-ish, with it's identifications as more a passive combatant. A sub or a battleship pr a sea serpent would suit the Decepticons more.

Why not have 2 carriers, or even 3. 1 version of Omega Supreme is half a carrier and he could battle out Tidal Wave, that would be cool. And Ultra Magnus could be the 3rd.

Broadside would probably who they would base it off, an air craft carrier who hates water... awesome character to build from, doubt he would be a triple changer though, and I doubt they would keep his original name.

the G1 Universe has had it's time in the sun and then some, I would like to see more new characters get movie incarnations like Tidal Wave and Evac.
exactly my thoughts. we should get more characters that have appeared more recently, like Hot Shot and Wing Saber. and personally, they also should have used transformers with more incarnations to them like prowl and ultra magnus. most if not many of the transformers seen in the movie haven't made an appearence on TV since G1, which to me was a disappointment. when I first read about which transformers were going to be in the movie, the only names I recognized were Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream. in my own opinion, I just can't grasp a movie that doesn't have Hot Shot, Prowl, and Red Alert, but with all those sequels that may come to be, i'm sure we will see some of the characters who were prominent in the Unicron Trilogy hit the big screen.

Here's my idea: Broadside vs. Tidal Wave. Broadside is an Autobot that transform into an aircraft carrier. Just when the Autobots think that they have the advantage, the Decepticons reveal the ace up their sleeve that is - get this - three battleships that combine to form Tidal Wave. Just a thought...

yeh it would be interesting to see some combiners.
i read in empire that bay said he had an awsome idea for introducing the dinobots. as much as i love them AND I DO (grimlock owns biatch) i dont think they would fit really
maybe transformers crash into a mueseum lol ^^
