It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
Sabrblade wrote:I am going to be bold and actually saying something negative about this toy. I don't like that beast mode rhino face. Especially the eyes. I hate that they went for a realistic rhino look instead of going for a more show-accurate face that better resembles the big Horn-Head we all know and love.
And I don't like how his brown is more toy-accurate tan instead of show-accurate brown.
Or how his robot mode arms are exposed in beast mode.
Or how his chest looks wrong.
Oh, and his lips are gone.
As are the spikes that went on his legs.
Doesn't stop me from liking this figure, though.
I recommend the Beast Wars Telemocha Series version of the original Cheetor toy.Dead Metal wrote:Cheetor is utter crap, avoid at all costs, get the original toy.The Henkei! Henkei! Dinobot is the version everyone should get.Dead Metal wrote:Dinobot is OK, best version of the character to date, but not perfect, would have needed to be Voyager to be perfect. You might still wanna at least consider Dinobot. Specifically this one:Sodan-1 wrote:I feel better about not having them already. Money saved! Thanks you two.
Nemesis Maximo wrote:Dudes...that transformeration sequence is pretty show accurate! IIIIIIIIIIIIII just had some nostalgic flashbacks to great days!Dead Metal wrote:Rhinox is a current gen Voyager, which are smaller than they used to be. Cheetor and Dinoboot are both Deluxes from 2008, and are larger than current deluxes.
On top of that, Rhinox is pretty compact and packs a whole lotta mass, while the other two are very slender and long in alt-mode.
I was under the impression that the current-gen voyagers are taller than they were in the past. The deluxe class are definitely smaller these days though.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Torca, like Rhinox, would be an automatic buy!Dead Metal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:TORCA!Seibertron wrote:So the real question is ... who does this get repainted or remolded into?
Holy crap, I think you're right. They have the same kibble distribution and similar transformation. And now that I look at it more, it seems like some of the details, specifically the chest and legs are specifically designed for Torca!

Better than mentioning his mangled IDW/Ben Yee name of "Elephorca".JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then it could be redecoed into the Blentron Elphaorpha.
You just HAD to mention him, didn't you?

The catch is that the Beast Hunters and AOE toys get to suffer from uber simplicity.Dead Metal wrote:You know what? Hasbro has been doing some amazing stuff lately, this Rhinox and Waspinator are just so awesome, there has to be a catch somewhere.

I'm hoping for a 3rd party kit that rectifies all the major issues, and then I'll just paint it myself.
In spite of the attempted show-accuracy, there are still some key differences between this head and that of the CG model:Hypershock wrote:Don't you think that saying the head is all wrong is just the teeniest bit hyperbolic? For goodness' sake, they included the maximal symbols on either side of his pseudo-mohawk!
Takara's is closer:Hypershock wrote:The color i'll give you, that is a few shades off. But there's only so much you can do for show-accuracy and non-sloppy modes,
Not unless they work some magic and "cheat" a bit, to give him a giant jaw in robot mode and normal jaw in beast mode.Hypershock wrote:if they had his chest look more accurate, then his rhino mode jaw would have been gigantic.
Not unless they were to flip in and out during the transformation. The original toy had them hidden in beast mode.Hypershock wrote:And honestly i didn't even realize he had spikes there haha, but again, that would have resulted in a spiky rhino leg.
But are they not among the most iconic aspects of his face?Hypershock wrote:Trust me, when you have to bring up the fact that he doesn't have lips, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Of course, this is all just nitpicking, as I still want the figure (rather, the Takara version, that is).Hypershock wrote:Agreed, it's not 100% accurate, those are all valid points. But those points are small enough for me to forget about and chock this one up to "completely show accurate" in my book. Again, i know it's not, but i'm not concerned about lips or leg spikes
