I brought this up at the end of the "Robot Mode Types" thread, but thought it might be worth mentioning here too:
I'm noticing something odd with the Computational and Bulk Type robot modes. Specifically, the Bulk type doesn't seem to be having any effect on damage absorption, despite it's descriptor, but the Computational type is effecting damage absorption, despite it's descriptor. I'm noticing it with both weapons and tactics, but it's a bit easier to demonstrate conclusively with weapons damage:
To start with, one of Brutallica's Arena logs. I'm using a Melee robot type with her (10 STR, 10 END, 10 Electrum), so that should have no effect on damage absorption:
Brutallica takes 8 – 9% damage from a Gatling GunAlso note that she hits Shadow Razor (Melee type, 10 STR, 10 END, 10 Electrum) with Battle Blades and does 5 - 6% damage. These damage ranges are typical for both the Gatling Gun and Battle Blades on characters with the kind of armor and robot mode type described above.
Now, check out the logs for a couple of characters using Computational robot types:
Triage-cjb takes multiple hits from Battle Blades, which only do 1% damage eachTriage-cjb again, multiple 1% Battle Blade hitsDisrepair twice takes only 1% damage from Battle BladesDisrepair takes ~12 hits from weapons (including Battle Blades), punches and kicks…none of which do more than 1% damageWhat initially got me thinking about this is that Disrepair has only 9 STR, 9 END and 9 Magnetic armor but is taking less damage per hit than characters with better armor and END (Brutallica's log above)...despite having a Computational set-up, which isn't supposed to effect damage absorption. And Triage, despite having the same armor and END as Brutallica, is taking less damage and, again, using a robot mode ability that isn't supposed to effect damage absorption.
Which brings me to Bulk types...
Laser Scalpel sustains average of 7% damage from Gatling GunLaser Scalpel sustains 6% damage from Gatling Gun and 6% damage from Battle BladesLaser Scalpel has the same armor and END as Brutallica, yet he's sustaining virtually the same amount of weapons damage despite having his Bulk-type robot mode ability maxed out.
