I'm 32 and I remember getting Daiclone stuff and thinking "Hey, I got that crap!" when I saw it on TV

So I guess you can call me a Pre G1er with that...

But on the same note while I was recognizing my bots and piecing my Voltron...

My now brother in law, with a 20yr age gap knew these figures.

So in reguardes to your question, I say take a G1er who likes DragonBallZ.

I think DBZ appeals to a thirty year old in a much different sense than it does an 8 year old.

It's more about being open to "epics" and an easy level of addiction.

all of the above, and then some.

Eastern and western styles of storytelling vastly differ, and there is no reconciling one with the other. Let Asian animation stay in Asia, where it is better understood and we western-worlders do not have to suffer bad(HORRID) re-dubbing...and then maybe we western-worlders can start cranking out something decent again, without the use of quasi-anime' animation style! I know such a thing is hard to imagine, but I am sure it can be done!

come on Pyrostrata, the dubbing is funny! I agree with you as far as the animation goes but kids love it. My Nephew is in Elementary school and id say about 90% of those kids love Dragonball Z, Pokemon.. you name it. Hell, Transformers never really caught his eye until he saw the Animated show.

Let the kids have their silly re-dubbed crap-animation....if it makes em happy, so be it. It just makes me wanna hurl! :grin:

I can go for that. for some reason America can't dub. Luckily Animated is fixing that.
And if you need proof, watch a few Godzilla movies. Times haven't changed it much.

Watch Headmasters for some terrible dubbing... they didn't even get the names right! Spike is called Sparkel and Soundwave is called NEW soundwave. WTF????

True.... I'm gonna have to watch headmasters in Japanese to see what they call Soundblaster. If only Hasbro would of imported this show to the USA. I don't know why they didn't, they released the figures from the show anyway and Masterforce toys as well. I know the Cartoon was dying by that point but isn't a 30 commerical about toys better then a 20 second commercial?

Soundwave and blaster had a big fight both got scrapped and rebuilt into Soundblaster and Twincast. (did I hear you say repaint right there) oh.. well.. they come with different cassettes
