The Star Wars Toy Haul Thread

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

Hey, it's okay WJ, I was in the same boat for five years. I only ever got a chance to read recreationally on breaks and such. The rest of the time, after reading text-books and history-books until I was cross-eyed every evening, 'reading for fun' felt like an oxymoron. :?

I'm surprised not to see a young Anakin being reissued.

....and this got lost in the EU debate

1) No interest in an evolution pack of kids - if nothing else I'd feel cheated paying $20 for less plastic.

2) I don't think I could keep my wife from a pack of Younglings though, and I'd go for it if it had more figures than usual. A Jawa/Droid Battlepack would also be good. I'm surprised there hasn't been an Ewok Battlepack.

3) Only surprised b/c they've rereleased almost every other character recently. They need to do an exclusive EpI Anakin w/ Darth Vader costume.

1) Sure, but only for $10. No way would I pay $20 for something like that.

2) Meh, pass.

3) I would go for that only if it was single carded, with that picture of Anakin standing on Tatooine with the shadow of Vader behind him as the background pic behind the fig. That would make a mighty attractive MOC.

Hm, maybe not a evolutions pack for Anakin.

Although, if they made a Anakin vs Jedi Babies battle-pack, that would rock on so many levels.

I'm thinking, what's more likely, is a collectors pack (or four two packs) that includes Shmi/kid Anakin, Jango/kid Boba, Padme/twin Babies, Jorg/Zett.

Also possible - A series of two packs that would have:
EpII Anakin/Ep IV Luke
EpII Padme/Ep IV Leia
EpII Jango/Ep VI Boba

etc.

Or have they done those already?

I assume you mean a pack that's just Ep IV/V/VI, which would be nice (though I'd have no personal interest, honestly), but it'd be hard to pick which incarnation to use from each movie.

Ep IV
Leia - 2 Costumes
Luke - 4 Costumes
Han - 1 Costume (maybe 2 if you count washing the clothes he'd been wearing)

Ep V
Leia - 2 Costumes (3 if you count the last two minutes)
Luke - 4 Costumes (5 if you count the last two minutes, 6 if you count the diaper)
Han - 3 Costumes (2 if you can make the jacket removable)

Ep VI
Leia - 4 Costumes
Luke - 2 Costumes
Han - 3 Costumes (2 if you can make the camo jacket removable)

I never realized that, overall, Luke changes outfits more than his sister. :-?

I am wondering the same thing..

I work a full time job (55+ hours a week)
Have a wife and 2 kids
Troop in the 501st
Help to run this website
Volunteer for the audio/video dept at our church
Go to a weekly church life group

And I still find time to read.. Hell even with that schedule I read the last Harry Potter book in 2 days.

I know DS is in the same kind of boat as I am in too.

Yup pretty much....
40 plus hrs
2 kids here and one on the way
2 dogs
1 cat
1 wife who is pregnant
taking care of my grandmother
washing clothes
cleaning the apartment(bathroom,floors,dusting etc...)

I usually have 2 to 3 books going at a time.

AND WJ/DAN I WAS KIDDING, TAKE A CHILL! :P

I got the Lumiya comic pack last night, it's nice, but not like the pics we saw a month or so ago.

Are you certain that was Shira? I don't think she was ever a Jedi. IIRC, the Dark Woman was a Jedi, and in one of the SW Tales books, Mara Jade found her, and Vader killed her.

Yup im sure. Vader made her a cyborg, hence why shes still alive during Luke's period.

Well actually she wasn't a cyborg when Luke met her. They were love intrests at one time. But Luke felt her dark side through the force and shot her tie fighter down.

Then vader gave her cybernetics, and she was at one time his apprentice.

Heres a link on here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shira_brie

Edit:
Now see I read both the link above and this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_woman

So im confused, maybe im wrong, but im going to have to check out some references to see where I made my mistake.

But it seems I am wrong, so yup im wrong. :-?

Ok I figured it out, where I got it mixed up.

There was a comic book where Luke and Lumiya were fighting against a common foe, and she had white hair, much like the darkwoman.

So I put them both together.....

Hence the comic book chick isn't lumiya...sorry guys. :-(

Well, with no thanks to the poopy toy distribution in my area, I got in the mail today a set of Wave 2 figures, along with three Stormtroopers. BBTS had them on sale. I never found the McBoba at retail, so the extra figures are just going into my custom fodder box. And $5 for each Stormtrooper is a pretty good buy. I actually like the figure. I know most people hate the helmet, but you can just wrap a clear rubber band around his head to solve that problem ;) Clear headbands... it's Star Wars universe-fashionable!

Ah. Though that's a little out of my range unless I'm going to a mall in Tampa. Since gas prices skyrocketed, I haven't ventured out as much. Well, until I get a car with much better gas mileage anyways ;)

I did finally find and get two of the new comic packs: Luke & Mara, and Leia & Vader. I will never understand Hasbro's decision to add ball & socket ankles when they should have invested the money in giving the figure ball & socket knees instead. The Vader is great, a sort of surreal prototype armor look (after reading the comic, I see it's a sort of astral projection of himself). I like that the chest panel and helmet are removable. The Leia is great, though the swivel elbows suck. I'll take them over no elbow articulation, though. I also like the removable blade lightsaber. I wish Hasbro had never stopped doing that.

After reading what I suppose is the end of that Infinities comic, I'm not sure I want to get the graphic novels of each one. This one ended kind of lame... I mean Vader got shot to death? Fine, Han & Chewie shot down Vader's TIE in Star Wars, but in person? No way, lol. Ah well.

I haven't opened the Luke & Mara set... I was wondering why Luke's lightsaber is blue instead of green? I guess Hasbro based the toy colors on the comic cover? How dumb can they be... ah well. I read about the Mara figure having a variant green lightsaber. Mine is a sort of violet color, which I think I'd prefer to green. I never liked that, since Episode 2, we only really saw blue, green, or red lightsabers. Sure Mace had the purple, but why didn't we ever see yellow, orange, white, etc? At least it would make for more colorful fight sequences ;)

FYI I just got my R2-KT's. I grabbed one for my wife, not really a toy collector, but she loved it because of the story with it. I scored some points, and supported a great cause.

yay.
