Wrong. Just because you disagree with him doesn't mean it's disturbing. No movie is objectively great.Counterpunch wrote:What kind of grown man gets "disturbed" by a movie about robots from space?

No grown man. And he didn't say that the robots disturbed him.
He said the terrible writing and retarded humor disturbed him.

Preach on man, Preach on! I feel the same way you do. Loved the movie. Best movie i ever saw. Cant wait for part 2. Mike Bay is great for the Transformers universe. I dont think anyone else could have made this movie the way he did. He has the vision of how it should look, feel, and be. I pictured this movie for years since it was a rumor, But BAY just brought my thought of this film to a whole new level. Michael Bay didnt ruin my childhood, He brought it to life! And for that i say...GOD BLESS HIM!!!!!!
JustinRODimus wrote:Also, you shouldn't come on a transformers forum, filled with hundreds (if not thousands) of transformers fans, bashing a transformers movie, and expecting many to agree with you. there might be alot of people here who dislike the movie but c'mon. the movie appeals to all sorts of people, which probably means that most transformers fans liked it too.
no
sorry if any (or all) of that makes no sense.

Ether your very young or you just dont catch a lot of films.
Like I said in an earlier post....I liked them film, a lot as a matter of fact but its by far no where the best movie I ever saw.
Could this film been better???? Hell Yes.
Could it have been written better????? Again Hell Yes.
Was it what I always dreamed a TF film would be???? No
Could it have been truer to the G1 mythos???? Again Hell Yes but as soon as I realilised that it wasnt going to be G1 I desided to judge Bays film the same way I judged every TF toon to come after the G1 toon.
And when you look at it that way its really not a bad flick and its not a bad TF brand.Yes the film had lots of plot holes and bad writting but that can be said about every TF toon to date.
Was it even the best film made that was based on a fiction from a different medeium????? No it was not.
Was it the greatest film I ever saw????? Far from it but its far from the worst as well.

Anyways, when does the guy get skewered by Scorponok? I missed that part I guess.

How was it American Pie? Dude these two are complete opposites. If it's the masturbation line then get over it. It was funny and it depicts teen life quite well. Don't like it? Then go in the hole with all the other soccer moms. Sorry to rant but soccer moms tend to irratate me.Sylus wrote:I did think the movie was too oversexed to be rated PG-13, it was trying to be the American Pie of Sci-Fi movies pretty much.

Well 24 is young.....maybe not "very young" but your still pretty young, and how would you describe the type of film it was????I really cant think of any other films with giant transforming robots from space. So how do you meen type???
And again its far from the best "Summer Blockbuster" I've ever scene.
Its not even the best "Summer Blockbuster" film I've seen in the past 10 years. The first Spiderman ,the first Matrix and X2 hold that spot for me.

And now it seems that your saying that it doesnt compair to films like "The Godfather". By the way I never really liked "The Godfather" but I know plenty of people who think its one of the best films ever made.Longarm77 wrote: Best movie i ever saw.

You have to remember, though, that the people who didn't like it probably did think it was a bad film. You can't expect people who didn't like it to act like it was good. This is all about opinions.
Not everyone who disliked the movie bitches about it. When we first saw the film, some of us pointed out both what we liked and what we didn't like about it. Ultimately, I thought it was a bad film but that doesn't mean I did't appreciate what [I thought] was done well.
Sto_vo_kor makes good sense.
As for the sexism thing, I think it might be in there but I can't remember the film in enough detail. If it is present, it certainly wouldn't be the first time for Transformers (one can argue it's present in so much fiction, anyway).

"Best summer blockbuster movie of 2007"???? Maybe
moldavite wrote:Also, though I tried to view this movie with very low expectations, even I was disappointed. This movie would have been much better had the humor been less prevalent, slapstick, and stupid and had more focus been placed on the movie's namesake: the Transformers. Instead we get an uncaring, insensitive, and less courageous Optimus Prime, among other Autobots, who needs the U.S. military to save his hide. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It just isn't a bad Transformers movie. It's a bad movie period that insults the intelligence of every American and helps to further our already awful reputation worldwide.
This movie does not need a sequel! Not unless the sequel basically screams "Ignore the first one!" In otherwords, in order to rescue this horrible flick, it can't be just good! It has to basically expel bodily fluids all over this shotty attempt and contain NOT ONE (military propaganda, slapstick humor, sexism, racism, etc.) of the errors this first shotty attempt had. Only then can a series of Transformers movies stand a chance of being viewed as something respectful to this and future generations.
