and AEC primes... yes armada prime was a bag of dicks. but i liked energons megazord prime! his biggest flaw was his basic bot mode. he was a lot of fun to play around with though. and yeah, cybertron prime, easily one of the best primes ever. even rid prime is still pretty awesome. so id find something other than primes to pick on for the part forming rant.

Hey! Armada Superbase Optimus Prime was, and still is, a bad ass! I loved it then, I love it now. Still works, too. For all it does, it's worth it. Energon Prime isn't bad, either, but it doesn't hold up too well after all this time. Comparing it to recent and current releases, you can see where they evolved into something great.

really? hastak has a bad track record?

Erasing part of someones reply your quoting. to make it seem like he's talking about something else. Is the equivelant of cheeting or playing dirty. So I added back in my full statement below in this reply.

Um....no it isn't. It's addressing a specific point you made. The original is above. If you feel that you were taken out of context, feel free to point it out or to clarify. Otherwise this is done jut to save space and eliminate what wasn't needed for this particular argument. You tend to make a lot of points in your messages. It's good to just see a specific point to refute.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:HasTak has a bad track record when it comes to robots toys. that parts form or exo-suit with trailers parts to create a super robot mode.

I was referring to HasTak's bad track record when it comes to a singular robot combining with the trailer. whether it be the parts formers,exo-suit or other means.

I wasn't saying HasTak has a bad record creating TF toys like Shajaki make it seem like I was.

Examples, please! You tend to throw out comments like this without any supporting info. What partsforming exo-suit types of robots are you speaking of? I can only think of Classics Jetfire, Jetfire/OP joining of RoTF fame or maybe some of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron toys. Otherwise there are the Gestalts. And in none of them, that I can think of, would I come close to agreeing that yours is a valid argument. Please give examples to back up your claims.

I disagree. For most adult fans, newly bought TF toys with limited articulation are classified as inferior toys.

For a adult fan. There is more to a TF toy then being Visually beautiful & fun to play with. Like articulation, engineering, display stability, plastic qualilty. Proper colors, transformation level, scale, homage design.

I strongly disagree. This toy appears to be a home run in every category. Beautiful sculpt, more than enough Articulation,Proper colors. Correct toy scale & decent homage design.

Looking at all the previous past HasTak & 3rd party Ultra Magnus toys. This KFC Ultra Magnus toy is the clear superior toy winner.

It's going to be a uphill battle for HasTak to create a more superior MP-22 UM toy. That is able to surpass the Superiority of the KFC Ultra Magnus toy.

I think you added this later, correct? Many of your examples were not a central robot combining with a trailer.

Wait. Are you really comparing the MP line, (who are probably mostly adult collectors, I will grant you that) with toys made for children? Do you see the flaw in your reasoning there? And please stop generalizing your statements. Just because you believe something does not necessarily mean "most adult fans" believe them. >:oP

I disagree STRONGLY (I also get frustrated when people state their opinions as fact)!

There two toys were LITERALLY my two favorite Transformers as a kid. I took one or the other with me every time we went somewhere.

In my opinion, they are NOT, "terrible... for the(ir) era." They were TYPICAL for their era.

UM was designed at the same time as Devastator (or even earlier), even if he came to the USA later. He had the same level of articulation as Devastator, and held together just as well.

Powermaster Optimus Prime was had three forms, lots of weapons, and just as much flexibility as any concurrent combiner (seriously, look at the combiners at that time; pretty much any flexibility was based on the center robot, not the limbs... just like here it was from the trailer). More importantly, it was a solid toy that held together pretty darn well.

I still have both of these. My kids still play with both of them, and have fun with them. My 3rd parties, on the other hand... very pretty to look at, and very poseable, but the fun ends there.

What?

I never had the original Ultra Magnus, I fear, but I vaguely remember a friend having him back in the day, and being a bit envious.

I did have Powermaster Optimus Prime as a kid. Sadly, I don't have any of my childhood Transformers anymore... but my Optimus Prime collection today proudly has a reissue God Ginrai (the Japanese version of the toy) included, and I still quite love the figure.

Yeah, he's a bit of a brick... but that's par for the course with G1 engineering. There are some that pull it off well, and there are some that don't. And this figure is one glorious brick, combined or not. Even the core robot's articulation is pretty much limited to one joint in each arm. (Elbows for the core robot, shoulders for the combined form.)

Image

Plus, when not combined, you get an awesome base mode. :D

Thus far, I like. But as always I won't make up my mind until I see the final product. I hope it would fit nice with my Classics; FP's Ultra Magnus is ready to be swapped out.

If its slightly smaller than FP city commander ill pick it up. I always thought city commander was a little too big and out of scale. Personally I dont give two craps about MP scale. Those collectors are getting an official MP ultra magnus, so this one NEEDS to be classics scale. I wish it wasnt KFC though. Theyre cassettes are crap quality and the perceptor mold wasnt really all that great in my opinion.

Are you serious? It won't be Voyager or Ultra scale. Do you not see the latest pic showing the torso part of the toy in the guys hands. That torso part minus the head & waist is literally covering the whole guys hand. Then there's the arms that look like leader scaled arms in the guys hand.

If you want to know the Scale by looking at the pic,all you gotta do is take your hand & put it over the torso minus the head & waist of a existing TF toy on one of your display shelves that you got. If you do this,You will notice it's a leader scale toy not a voyager or Ultra.

At this point Speculation & Wishing is over. Keith has already revealed months ago that this will be over Nine inches tall & will scale with MP-10. This seems to be the scale that Optimus & Ultra Magnus were in from those Rebirth cartoon episodes.

If it's acceptable & okay for you to buy dozens of the same size & character Bumblebee toys. Then it should be acceptable for some to want two different versions of this toy. Which are KFC Heavy Metal new leader & MP-22 Ultra Magnus.

Your Classics Generations scale that you demand & desire is obsolete, defunct & outdated in 2014-2015. Titan Metroplex,Leader scale Jetfire & Leader scale Megatron have forever increased the scale of this line.

I have no problems with Mangus being a big guy. He is, after all, an Optimus Prime-sized truck with lots of armour.

I just want the asthetics to match. I tried Platinum Ultra Magnus and it didn't work out that well. He has such tiny, tiny hands.

I think youre like the only collector on here that hates classics scale and likes huge toys like ultimate bumblebee. Granted theres plenty of them that also collect the MP scale I loathe. Those guys will be buying the official MP-22 ultra magnus. They made it pretty clear that they only buy offical MP scale figures on the warbotron and kronos threads. So unless this figure is the size of city commander or slightly smaller it will surely flop. This is a case of bad timing like toyworlds MP bumblebee.

Yep, you pretty much nailed my POV right there. If this were in scale with Henkei Optimus Prime, I'd probably buy it. But Takara's got my needs for an MP UM covered already so this one will be skipped unless Takara's looks horrible (doubtful) and this one looks superior (VERY doubtful).

The only bumblebee toy I own is the $32 Human Alliance toy. I dislike all of the other BB toys & characters from 1984-2014 spread across all the toy lines & fiction.

The Takara MP-22 toy will most likely get released during spring 2015.
as the MP-20,MP-21 & There repaints will dominate the 2014 year.
So if KFC rushes the release & gets the UM toy out in a few months,Sales will be decent enough.

Looks like they ditched the poll results and went with the much more sensible current MP bot-mode scale so it won't be such a huge monster towering over the rest of the collection.
Looks kinda nice. Well, what little we can see of it.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

my view on classics/generations is a little different. i see it as a modern redesign of G1. so those figures dont need to perfectly emulate their G1 selves (which is what this KFC UM is trying). so even if he was classics sized, i would keep my FP city commander as his aesthetics fit the line better.

That's a very good point, and I pretty much agree with you. Anything 'too G1' really doesn't quite fit in with my Classics/Generations etc. collection and my collecting choices when it comes to third party 'Classics' type figures do tend to lean towards things that pay homage to the original characters without emulating their original G1 selves too closely. I too like them to be more stylized/modernized/different. In fact, that's one of the reasons I chose TFC's Predacons over the much more G1 inspired MMC versions and why the updated versions of the FP Stunticon alt modes don't bother me nor the updated alt modes used by TW's not-Throttlebots and the same goes for why I picked SXS' not-Gears instead of iGear's.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.

And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!
